Positive: I wish I had got his name but he was the bartender. A Spanish decent guy he did a great job with making sure our food was prepared correctly and the drinks were excellent. With great personality. Negative: There was a female bartender of Caucasian decent did a horrible job. We stayed away from the bar after interacting with this lady
Maybe one of the least professional hotel staffs I have encountered. We booked a wedding block here and it was by far one of the worst vendors we dealt with during this process. Two of our out of town guests couldn’t even stay in this hotel because their room was so dirty and clearly not cleaned by the staff. They charged us for a room that we didn’t stay in, and we had to spend time trying to find someone to reverse the charges after the fact. Not to mention their night manager phoned us a week out to say they would be closed 4 out of 5 days that week due to city work, with no recompense or apology… essentially told us to kick rocks. No blankets in the room either. Don’t waste your money here. All their good reviews have to be when OMNI owned the property, because it’s clear current management hasn’t a clue how to properly host guests and ensure their stays at even average, not to mention excellent. Very very sub standard.
The parking lot was covered in old unraked leaves and trash. The outside entrance was littered with cigarette butts. My stay included a Saturday night and we went to the bar around 10PM and the rude bartender said she was closed and would not serve us. I asked if she could get us a soft drink and she declined. I walked over to the hotel store which was closed. I requested the location of a soft drink machine and she said they had none and that I would need to go find a store. The walls were thin and we listened to highway traffic and our neighbors on both sides all night - very loud hotel. There was no security in the parking lot and it is in a sketchy area. This was a great hotel 15 years ago but I would not go back or ever recommend it.
Im not sure what is happening with Marriott hotels these days... We have been thinking of switching to Hilton for some time now, and our last few Marriott stays have solidified these feelings.... This was no exception; this was far from a 4-star hotel. It was old.. run down... No real food was available throughout the day... No hot water in shower or sink... No cold drinks to be bought, we were handed 2 cans of warm Pepsi with a glass of ice... $8 .. The bed was fine. The room was JUST ok; the TV was about 20 years old... I just dont get their star ratings these daysI certainly would not recommend this hotel. The front desk associate, Lipsi, I believe , her name was the only redeeming quality of the place. We are certainly getting closer to becoming Hilton Members
Our stay here was absolutely amazing! The room was clean, as was the Hotel itself. The pool is beautiful and was nice and quiet, made for a very relaxing experience.Kim, the kind woman at the front desk, who helped by getting us a room last minute was an absolute Gem. She was kind, patient, informative, and very helpful! Now for the fun part. Yall have to go see Bill in the coffee shop, not only was he kind and patient with us, he took the time to actually talk with us. As my friend and I were bantering back and forth, Bill would chime in and make us laugh. Seriously he had us laughing so hard, one of us actually peed our pants🤣. SERIOUSLY, stop in and say hi, and tell him about this review, to put a smile on his face, like he did ours! After the horror we endured with our kids and Pup, at the previous hotel we booked, and YES, it was that bad! Southpark Marriott saved us and our kiddos. So to Kim and Bill, thank you from the bottom of my heart.. You two single handedly helped this jet lagged, Zombie Mom, her children, and her best friend from losing their minds, and made this entirely long drive with 3 children, and a dog worth while!
The hotel felt a little old/dated and the drain was VERY slow. But the service was excellent. Shout out to Nick who was working every night we were there. The location was excellent for us and Id likely return, but it is a little pricey for the amenities. Overall, though, good experience.
This hotel is so bad, I am switching my allegiance away from Marriott after decades. I have no idea why Marriott brought this hotel into their family. The hotel is dated and there is evidence of needing repairs everywhere you look. Two major annoyances for us - first they HAVE a market but it stayed locked and closed my entire visit. No sign that would give us other directions. I asked the clerk and was told find the bartender, he has keys. The other is that our sink had no hot water, and the morning of our checkout we had no hot water for the shower either. When I complained I was offered a free breakfast... NOT what would have helped. Stay anywhere else.
This hotel has recently been acquired by Marriott and the rooms are desperately in need of an upgrade. They have very The Shining sort of creepy Vibes to them. Theyre not well maintained you can see water damage on the walls Etc. The hotel really has no amenities right now. There is no concierge floor and Hotel restaurant is closed. You can get a basic to go breakfast or bag lunch at the gift shop and the bar is open on the first floor. Lets just say Marriott has their work cut out for them. It used to be an omni and its obvious that Omni ignored the property before they sold it. But if Marriott put some work into it it could be a nice hotel again. The staff are super super nice. They are obviously working under some difficult conditions and they were great.
My wife and I chose to stay in this location because since it is in South Austin, we can venture into the downtown area of Austin with its many live music venues, restaurants, and shopping opportunities, and we can easily also travel south to New Braunfels and San Marcos and visit Schlitterbahn and other attractions that direction. The property is well-maintained and is very much like a resort with a large lobby, which includes a sunken bar, a huge indoor/outdoor heated pool, and spacious rooms. The staff are courteous, friendly, and very helpful. We very much enjoyed our stay.
We had our company party at the Austin Southpark Hotel, and the Staff was amazing! They are the most professional, knowledgeable and pleasant team to work with. The evening was a tremendous success, and we couldnt have done it without the support of this amazing team! Thank you so much!
Room was dirty. There was hairs on the shower wall. The workout area A/C was broken and it was over 100 out! To add insult to injury, I left a nice shirt behind. It turns out the hotel makes money returning a lost piece of clothing. It was $35 friggin to have it returned. Its better than getting tossed in a land fill. I hope someone from Marriott looks at these reviews.
Positive: The pool, its bigger than expected and has plenty of room to swim. Also the gym and sauna were nice surprises. Staff were all very welcoming and friendly. Negative: The room needed some lighting updates, most of them didnt work. Also, the bathroom smelled dirty. Had to go buy a candle to burn in there.
Positive: Location was great. Not far from Downtown with plenty of parking. Negative: We were startled by a security guard knocking on our door loudly to silence our dog. We never got a call from the hotel asking us to do so. This completely intimidated us and changed the entire trip.
I stayed on the 11th floor. Room 1117.The room was pretty terrible. Dirty moldy shower. Faucet in the sink leaked, the windows had a huge crack in them which they taped over. The room doesnt even have an overhead light. Just 3 lamps 1 of which doesnt work. The lamp between the beds is dimmable, but, the bulb is not. The TV is some 720p dinosaur, the buttons on the remote do not work very well. For 3 days the right most elevator was stuck on floor 14 and not working. The $50 hold on my card was inexplicably $55.87 They couldnt explain the discrepancy, but it did refundThe food was great. The staff was great. The lobby is nice. The rooms are just awful.
I wish I could give this hotel some negative stars.$25 Dollars is the thing here. You ask for anything they ask for $25.Microwave $25Late checkout $25Early check in $25I wouldn’t be surprised if they start charging you to use toilet paper and towels and bedsheets too. They had no water. The guy in the front desk named Raul told me that the hotel had no water whatsoever. No water bottles, no vending machine nothing. And then few minutes later after argument he magically appears with water bottles.Hotel is outdated and old.Freeway was right outside the window and it was loud.NOT RECOMMENDED.
Read the bad reviews you see on here and believe them. Bad plumbing, dated interiors, unresponsive staff … unfortunately I experienced it too. Not only that, but I found that there was no parking garage here upon arrival. My fault for not doing research on that beforehand. Someone actually hit my car in the parking lot and left no note or information. When I informed the hotel and asked if they had security cameras out there, they said “No, only in the front entrance I think. So yeah, uh, I don’t know.” The damage is $380 so I would’ve hoped they’d at least give me a certain answer. I’m not just mad about my car. When we were trying to get towels for the pool, we waited 20 minutes before either of the two workers at the front desk would even look up at us so we could ask for towels. If you need somewhere to stay in Austin, I’d move on.
Positive: Nothing! My worst experience ever. Staff became aggressive when I refused to shut up and accept their excuses. Negative: Elevators didnt work and no hot water. The staff only offered excuses, not solutions. They continued to check in guests knowing there was no hot water. TERRIBLE...WORST EVER.
Spent 1300 for a week stay had nothing but issues and my room was only cleaned once if it was not for miss Kellys amazing customer service I would have gone some place else for the money I spent.... Ive always stayed at this location but it was the Omni so this is the 1st time since its called southpark austin Also they were extremely rude in the restaurant... Im not impressed
I paid extra for the premiere king room. And ya know what that got us? A great view of the freeway overpasses and the people living below it. I couldn’t sleep with all the freeway noise. I requested a different room, told them I couldn’t sleep being so close to the freeway and the moved us 5 floors up and across the hall way..still directly next to the freeway.Besides that, The rooms were dirty, looked like the place hadn’t been dusted in months in some areas. The lighting in the bathroom was so bad it was like showering with the lights off. The tub was also dirty. The paint was peeling off the wall in the shower. the wallpaper was peeling off the walls in the sleeping area as well. And when I complained to the staff at the counter they did absolutely nothing! We went outside to enjoy the only decent part of this hotel, the pool, only to discover over half of the windows on the building were cracked!Moral of this rant, don’t go here, don’t waste your money. The comfort inn’s we stayed in along our road trip we’re easily 10x nicer than this place! No wonder Omni sold it, it’s a dump!
Very surprised with the stay at this hotel. I expected the luxury that was being promoted on the hotel website. Very very out dated, no luxury. Hot water wasn’t working, sink wouldn’t drain… staff came to “fix” the sink problem however problem was fixed but the staff member did not tighten the washer and the sink started leaking water. Asked for cleaning service and was told no, had to be scheduled a day in advance. Hotel staff Liz wasn’t friendly at all. She said i was “needy”. Asked for mini refrigerator— refrigerator was not working and unbalanced. Indoor pool and jacuzzi were so gross and looked like it hasn’t been cleaned in weeks. Hotel restaurant was closed during my entire stay. Balcony was very small triangle shaped able to fit one person comfortably. No room service, if food was ordered you had to go downstairs to pick up. I would expect this from a 2 star hotel but definitely did not expect this from an OMNI hotel.
Marriott Ambassador . Not a good hotel for the Discerning business Traveler. There is no Lounge, no common area with tables to work or take calls, rooms have desks right beside the bed certainly doesnt make for a great area to take a conference call. My original reservation was 5 days, I changed it to one day and will be checking into a lower-tier Fairfield by Marriott tomorrow. The hotel is right beside the interstate and here I lay at 1 a.m. listening to cars and airplanes pass by consistently making it very difficult to sleep. 280 nights year-to-date, last trip of the year, review my other postings and youll see that I typically write positive reviews regarding hotels. Unfortunately this is one that I will be unable to recommend. Business traveler, beware.
Positive: When walking in appears to be nice and the staff are ok. Then you get to the room and it¿s dingy, old décor, and had a strong musty smell. The bathroom had old water damage on the wall and there was mold around the edges. Shower was from the 70s or Negative: There was dirt and hair in the bathroom and on the comforter. Then to top it all off, I was abruptly awoken a little after midnight by other guests in my room!! They gave another couple the same room!!!! I didn¿t get much sleep after that!
I am so aggravated by this property. I had a reservation that was canceled without any notification. I just happened to notice when looking on my app that the reservation was no longer listed. I called and no one could tell me why. They placed a ticket for it to be looked into and my stay was re-booked without notification. When I looked at the reservation it was re-booked at a higher rate than the email confirmation I had. I called again and someone was suppose to contact me regarding this issue and never did. This is fraud to increases prices without any notification.
I fell for the pictures on this hotel. First appearance the hotel is nice. The walls are super thin, you can hear everything! The pool area is not the best. There was algae against the pool walls and was just worn looking. My room is also right next to the highway and you can fully hear the traffic outside. There is also no actual food place it’s a little market shop. Everyone staff wise was very nice!
This hotel is old & dirty !!! The pictures are NOTHING like the hotel in person. The pool area is all torn up. The bed was extremely hard. We got 4 of the 16oz bud light beers and one little cream cheese Croissant from the gift shop and we were charged $30 for that. The beers were supposed to be $4 each…. So I guess my little snack was $16 !!! They also charge your card an extra $50 a night for any damages that might be done to their CLEAN extravagant hotel!!! And you get the money deposited back after you checkout. Which takes a couple days for it to actually go back into your account. The carpet in the entire hotel looks and smells old. The breakfast IS NOT free !! And it’s located in the tiny gift shop…. There were breakfast sandwiches wrapped in foil for $7 each and some cereal for $5. I have never been to a hotel that does not offer free breakfast . They also were not coming in to clean our room or give us any more clean towels. We had to grab more clean towels from the pool area. Don’t waste your time or money here. Not worth it at all
My hubby & I stayed last week for 3 days and two nights for a getaway. We arrived early and were allowed to check in early! Our room was clean, huge, and with a beautiful view! Anything we needed, hotel staff was happy to provide from; coffee, tea to extra blankets! Annie, at the front desk; was courteous and helpful. The restaurant was only available for “carry out”-y’all need to open for seated dining is my only suggestion. The mattress was upscale and great linens-very important!
I really liked this hotel. It was very nice. The pool was amazing. My girls had a fantastic time. The pool is like an indoor/outdoor pool, which was really cool. The rooms were a bit smaller than I would have liked but there wasnt anything wrong with them. The TV remote didnt work so I had to change the channel manually but it was no big deal to me. Hotel staff were polite.
This hotel was very underwhelming. Please do not come here if youre boujee because the disappointment will be real. I can say very few good things about this hotel so I guess Ill start there. The bartenders were sooo nice. Accommodated all my weird drink requests and made them tasty. The pool and jacuzzi area is very relaxing and spacious as well as the gym area. Okay...now the bad stuff...no one answers any of the phone lines. Room service, concierge, ideal services, or front desk. I called several times and finally got front desk only to request a bottle of water because the mini fridge is completely empty, and can you believe they dont have water..... I was shocked honestly. That was very weird for them to say they have no water bottles in the hotel...she offered the water fountain in the lobby but ...no. Then, Im standing in line at the front desk to check in and also I wanted to upgrade the room I orginally requested; for a room with a balcony. Im watching her treat the person in front of me very kindly and explaining where all the amenities are and stuff. When my sister and I got to the front of the line...the elderly lady with the gray pony tails attitude changed. She asked us a question and when we needed time to think she said other people were waiting so we need to make a decision or step aside... now I can understand this if there was a longggg line behind me or if we took more than a minute or two....but it was about 20-30 seconds..... so I found that very rude of her...but we stepped aside as she handled the ONE client behind us in line. She always also quite friendly to them but not us...go figure....I could only wonder why..........................r.So we decided to take the upgrade room and also keep the original room I requested online because it was 4 people with 2 full sized beds and we felt we should have more space. When I got the the room with the balcony, it was okay...like I said, mini fridge was empty, balcony door gave us many issues to open and close, and overall, just unimpressive. The lobby and outside of the hotel is really pretty. The restaurant thats a part of the hotel didnt look bad according to the menu but when I tried to go into the restaurant mid day friday, it was closed... anyway...thats all. Wont be staying here ever again.
Positive: I was at the hotel for a Convention. The hotel did a good job of supporting that event. The food for the Convention meals was great. Negative: Hotel was understaffed. 1st room was terrible. Was moved to another but TV didnt work and took multiple attempts to phone front desk for a tech. My bill was incorrect when I checked out and no manager on duty to fix it. Had to be done by phone later.
Positive: The staff was nice. Negative: Very shabby. Room was dingy and had some real issues w cleanliness. There was a leak w the AC. Water in the carpet. Mold. No real sound insulation so lots of freeway noise as well. Cheap for the area, but still too expensive for the quality.
The staff was AWESOME! My girlfriend had a bit too much to drink and the front desk was just great about it.They had fresh towels when we needed em, the place was clean, when the parking lot is full, there is still TONS of parking, and they had headache meds, coffee, and breakfast tacos in the gift shop. Its the most convenient location in town to access all of Austin, and it wont break your wallet.Find out the night desk staff from September 10-12. Those people are heroes and they earned every bit of this review. The Doritos were perfect, and thank you.
Positive: Wasn¿t much I liked Negative: - sheets disgusting, had brown stain that smelled like rotten fish, had to have them change sheets. They brought us sheets to change bed, unacceptable after paying $---/night - room dirty, smelled like smoke - pool cold, over chlorinated
The hotel has a nice pool ect but our room smelled musky, wasn’t as clean as I expected and the sheets and mattress were awful… when I go to a hotel I expect soft sheets and a nice bed these were horribly itchy and the mattress was very springy. Disappointing for 200.00 a night. Do not recommend.
We booked online and used the pictures on the website to figure out which room to reserve. When we got there we were given a different kind of room. When we asked the manager all he would say was that he understood. I am not sure what he understood. Then, he offered to cancel the reservation and book a room like the picture for an additional $100. That seems like a scam to me. No other resolution was offered. The room we had was ok. The pool was great. Our bathtub had a pipe dripping into it from the ceiling, pretty gross.
Positive: Location and friendly staff. Negative: The mattress was horrible. It must have been at least 20 years old as it sunk in the middle causing extreme back pain. The vents were not clean and you could see mold growing in them. The bar closed at 10:00 on a Friday night. Hotel was a total dissapoint
I would give this hotel zero stars if I could. I don’t ever rate hotels but this experience was the worst I ever had. First we called two weeks ago and asked if there was a size limit on pets and the person said no there is not…we showed up with our lab and there is, but they let us stay anyway. Then we walk into the room and it reeks of cigarette smoke but we decide to just deal with it because we didn’t want to bother switching rooms. We then tried to go to bed at 11 pm and there was a big, nasty, smelly stain on the bottom sheet, it smelled super foul (rotten fish smell). I told the front desk and she said they don’t have any rooms so she’d send someone up with clean sheets. They literally brought me sheets and wanted me to clean the bed myself…$200 a night, they gave us a nasty room and they wanted me to clean up from their mess. My jaw dropped. Honestly, I’d love a refund to just go to a different hotel.
Bed sheets are a bit scratchy. Toilet is kinda low to the ground😬. Staff is very friendly and accomodating though😁. We had some strange problem at check-in. Like my room got canceled...🤔 but the bartender is pretty great so far. Think Ill go back and hang out with him some more.
It wasnt great but I did enjoy my stay. The bed seemed to be well worn/used. Additionally, there werent many places to eat in close proximity. On a good note the staff was very friendly and helpful when needed. I cant in good conscience give a full 5 stars with the errors I noted
Hotel is nice but it’s tired. However, it’s getting a much needed makeover with its new owner come late August 2021. I didn’t mind the vintage digs (the rooms are clean despite being old) so much as I minded the trashy clientele. A large group brought their alcohol and their two leash less dogs to the hot tub (bc the smell of hot wet dog is always pleasant…) and let them run around unattended while they set up camp. The next day, several unattended children were busy playing in the hot tub all day rendering it unpleasant if not useless for other guests. We picked this hotel largely bc it had a nice pool and hot tub (that we never were able to use). Staff is pleasant but seem totally unaware so guests do whatever they want. We plan to make regular visits to Austin but prob won’t stay here. The rampant feral children were one thing but the dogs at the pool turned me off completely.
Great little hotel..indoor/outdoor pool is nice and hot tub was hot. Beds are comfortable and staff super friendly. Fridge in the room but no microwave. If you pay extra wifi is super fast, otherwise youre looking at 2 upload/download which functions but barely. If you join the loyalty club thats free. Id stay here again!
For this place being an Omni hotel it dose not get the 5 stars from me . Room was no cleaned very well to start. With there being a pandemic its not very comforting to find a dirty toilet and shower it leaves you thinking what else is being over looked. At check in i was told they would not clean rooms unless we asked. Then they decided to clean our room with out informing us they were going to all because they were over staffed. If they are over staffed they could rotate shifts and keep to what they said about rooms. Not satisfied with this hotel at all. I have stayed in cheaper hotels that are way cleaner and if you told them no room service the stayed way.
Just as the reviews warn, the pictures are misleading. It’s like we time traveled to the 80s or something. Very outdated and not clean. If this is how they clean during a pandemic, I would hate to see what it was like beforehand. We tried two rooms, both of which hair was found in the sheets. We decided to just leave and head the hour back home! That’s how bad the experience was. Lesson learned, we are going back to Westin next time! Pay the extra $100 if possible, because you will be sadly disappointed when you check in at the South Park Hotel.
Very clean, friendly and laidback staff, nice pool (indoor/outdoor), hot tub, and sauna. Sauna and hot tub could be hotter. Shower in my room wasnt running hot water. I called and they said maintenance would come check on it, but I dont think anyone ever came up. Would probably give other hotels a try over this one in the future. I would say a one bed room here is worth $125 but we paid quite a bit more than that.
My family and I stayed here for 2 days and we must say that it was nice. The hotel is an older hotel but it was nice and clean. They have a nice indoor/ outdoor pool that’s heated with a hot tub. The hotel Did Not have a lot of people at all. There was not any handsanatizers by the elevators. Their gift shop was closed but the restaurant on site was open but you had to order by phone and pickup at the front desk. Parking is free on site but there was a noticeable amount of homeless people nearby but not a bother at all. We enjoyed our day and hope to make reservations again
Cool hotel with a neat pool. Could use a little upgrades but overall a very nice stay. Staff was really nice an accommodating when we needed a microwave and our room didnt have one they brought one right up to us. Our teenage boys loved the unique pool that has a bridge to swim under and a wall that leads you inside without getting out of the water.
Definitely a bit outdated. And seriously who charges for Wifi! Thats crazy. Lots of kids running around the fitness center soaking wet from the pool. The bar is very awkwardly designed and placed. Its short, small, and in the middle of the lobby, no privacy or lounge. Seems more like an after thought. However the pool itself deserves 5 stars. The sauna, hot tub and indoor/outdoor are great! The staff is also nice. No breakfast is included, parking lot is free, very clean and they do offer a small menu of food you can take to go (for dinner) not sure about breakfast or coffee. Ice machine is also broken....And it took my shower 15 mins to provide hot water.
I’m sure at one time this was a beautiful hotel. Upon arriving at the hotel one cannot help but notice the homeless encampments across the street. Walking inside the hotel seemed fairly nice. The carpet in the elevator, hallways and our room seemed old and dated. The furniture in the room had once been really nice. Now it is pitted, scratched up and yard sale quality. The beds were clean and comfortable. The pool area was pleasant. Their weight room looked nice though I didn’t go inside. When checking out I informed the staff that the trashcan outside was over flowing and trash was being blown around their parking lot. It was a fairly nice hotel overall but not for the price. We’ve paid less just for as nice of a hotel that wifi and breakfast were included. At the Omni you’ll pay extra if you want wifi or breakfast.
Positive: The pool Negative: Booked a larger room, pushed into smaller room @ the same price, requested a rollaway twice that never came, half our group had to SLEEP ON THE FLOOR. Manager was cavalier and unaccommodating in resolving our booking issue. Horrid bar experience.
This was a business trip paid by my company. Staff was nice, hotel is very outdated. Hotel room was hard to work in, had to unplug lamp to use laptop at desk. They don’t have outlets in places for you to use. Hot water didn’t work when I got to my room. Restaurant is not open but on certain days, and even when open only had 5 options to get. I got the $16 dollar salad that tasted old. Wanted to soak in the jacuzzi, but people had their little kids in the jacuzzi. The complementary internet was not free, you had to pay. 😩 for the cost per night my company paid, you could have gotten a much better experience at a different hotel. Area close to the Hwy so you hear cars all night. I stayed at this same brand of hotel in Dallas, it was really nice. This Austin location not at all worth the price they are charging.
Ive stayed here a few times and have had a good experience in the past. My stay yesterday was completely different. My room had an old, mildew odor. I decided to just open the balcony door and air it out, which helped minimally. I was happy to see they added a limited menu for pickup at the front desk. The food I ordered was bad and made me sick the rest of the day. I likely will not be staying here again, which is unfortunate because the location is convenient.
This hotel is deceiving and does not reflect what is shown on the website. It’s old run down hotel and carpet is old and smelly. We were given a room close to the highway and its too noisy. If you are a light sleeper then think twice before you book this hotel with the proximity of the highway. The front desk did not make any effort to my request. I will not be booking this hotel again.
It was poor manager profiled me and wouldnt let me stay because of how I looked. Managers name is lipsi and a person had same issue with her after me but she allowed other person a room. But Nickolas blank helped us remarkably with finding a good hotel and giving us suggestions and didnt profile against us. That man deserves a raise and management position.if he was manager i believe hotel would get more business. And have alot happier of customers. GIVE HIM RAISE..!!!
They treated me and my family horribly. The lady in the front literally looked at me and didnt say a word kept walking around then a sweet guy helped me then sHE OFFERED to help the white couple behind me wit no problem. They gave me three wrist bands so we can be in the pool. WE WHERE THE ONLY ONES WITH THE WRIST BANDS. I MENTIONED IT TO ANOTHER FAMILY STAYING AT THE HOTEL THEY LOOKED AT ME LIKE I WAS CRAZY. The room I ordered wasnt the room I got and when I called down for breakfast they NEVER ANSWERED but I could see them 37m later delivering food to other rooms. Worst experience ever. I expected better from a place of business. They treated us like my money was Monopoly money and I paid just like everyone else.
Overall it was a decent hotel. Stayed in the king deluxe room. Very comfy bed. 2 major issues. If you are using a credit card make sure the chip works. They could not take my credit card (which I was planning on using) because of the chip not working. So had to use debit. Also when we got to the room there was still a full trash can! Went down to the front desk and the lady said she would get that fixed and when we returned a few hours later it still hadnt been changed! With all the seriousness of covid and sanitizing it seemed super ridiculous that a full trash can was left in the room and still left AFTER WE TALKED TO FRONT DESK. Went down again and the next gentleman we asked actually took care of it. Not a bad hotel just seriously weird that a full trash can was in our room for 24 hrs from the previous guest..
Positive: For the most part, hotel was clean. The room which was a Corner Suite was a good size, other than the bathroom, which was small. Negative: This hotel is in desperate need of renovation. The rooms are outdated. This hotel is not to Omni Hotel quality. This is more of a 3 star hotel. When we first checked in, there was a tray from room service outside our room, it stayed there for days.
Someone broke into my room in the early a.m. while I was still in bed! Fortunately I woke up and chased them out of my room. The front desk clerk acknowledged having trouble with the person I described prior to my stay and apologized for the trouble but would not refund my money. Gave me the managers business card and I’ve called him twice and left messages but it’s been two weeks now and I haven’t heard back from him yet. This hotel is not safe and they don’t seem to care. I’m never coming back and would advise everyone to stay somewhere else.
This is based on comparing this 4 star hotel to any updated 2 star hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Very dated. Honestly nothing impressive about the rooms. The staff was nice. The advertised amenities of this hotel are false. No restaurant, no room service, no swiping a credit card, no spa. The highways nearby are very busy and loud. All the balconies above the 4th floor are small tight spaces. My balcony faced the highway and we could hear it all day and night. Out balcony door’s lock was installed off, so the sliding door had to be slightly open to actually use the lock which amplifies the traffic noise. The current low rate was less of a bargain on 4 star amenities and more of “you get what you pay for.”
No restaurant or bar service on Monday or Tuesday. Didn’t even clean the room on Monday and had to ask for clean towels after we realized it. Mini bar refrigerator stocked with air and no ice bucket. Had a room with balcony but had to switch because the bed was terrible and the balcony was right over a major highway and so noisy couldn’t sit out there. Couldn’t even get a bag of chips after 10PM. Also the view from the balcony was a homeless tent city. Rooms badly need updating. If this is Omni brand it sure didn’t feel like it. Wouldn’t stay here for free again.
We stayed here for a couple of days and staff was very helpful. Security was on top of situation going on outside with vehicles. Felt extremely safe knowing they were keeping parking lot safe and sevure! Rooms were very clean and comfy!! Ill stay here over and over again if its always like this!
I don’t see how this is listed as a four star hotel to be honest. The rooms are very outdated! Their is rust near the toilets and the tub looks like something you’d find at a cheaper Motel. For a hotel to look like this and not even offer free breakfast is beyond me. I’d say one of the good things about It is the pools. They offer a very large pool for those who have kids or want to go swimming. Overall, I don’t think the price they ask for is to the hotel standard. I’ve stayed at Holiday Inns that had a better quality room. It seems as though more time was spent on the lobby than updating the actual rooms. I was really disappointed to walk in and not even be stunned for the price you’re paying. As far as a view, you’ll be looking at the highway or the parking lot, just saying. Overall it’s a good hotel for those with kids but a romance get away for couples, I recommend just going to the Omni Downtown. Granted Omni downtown does have some outdated rooms but it’s not as bad as South Park and they are in the process of updating the rooms to a higher standard. You also have a better view of downtown.
The staff were so friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Kelly and Ting for their top notch customer service .The location was excellent as well.very close to south congress street .The pool was nice and the room was excellent and clean.I had a pleasant experience staying at this hotel and would defiantly consider going back again if I decide to go to Austin.
This is the least updated and oldest omni Ive ever stayed at. When we arrived, we were notified that the water main was broken. Front desk told us we could cancel the reservation and I could find my own accommodations if I didnt like that I didnt have water. No comped rooms or discounts, just a couple of free drink coupons. Got to room, and only had sheets on bed, no comforter. Went to front desk to ask for one, and they said that all comforters were in use, and gave us a damp throw blanket that didnt cover the whole bed. After night one we got another chance to leave again since the water needed more repairs, so we left. No apologies from the desk, nor offers of comps or anything else. Next time we will stay at omni downtown or another chain
This place was extremely outdated, smelled of stale cigarettes and mold. The hotel room was dirty and smelled like someone took a #2 and left. The smell would not go away! The room was stuffy and the air did not work. We asked to move to another room however it smelled also! It was disgusting. We ended up checking out the same night! The location is also terrible! It’s right next to the homeless tent city. I did not feel safe at all! Please stay somewhere else! There are so many other better hotels near by.
Im currently staying here, and I must say I am very disappointed. I typically stay at Omni hotels when Im out of town and this is the worst one that Ive stayed in.The rooms are beyond outdated and the room smells. Absolutely nothing appealing about the room. The one picture on the wall is dark and depressing. The walls are very thin and you can hear everything going on in the rooms next to you. Oh, if you want to get plug up any electronics, you will have to unplug the coffee maker, tv, and lamps. The tub/shower was dirty and there was makeup all on the bathroom door and walls. When I asked for a clean set of towels, the cleaning lady was rude, had an attitude, and acted as if she did not want to give me a set of clean towels.Do not fall into the hype of the online pictures of this particular Omni hotel.
If I could put 0 I would. Worst stay I’ve ever experienced in a hotel. Only thing worth coming here is the bartender. While here, a drug overdose occurred and there were several cops. There was a random pile of what I’m assuming is ranch?? And I slipped in it. They had me fill out an “incident report” to send to corporate and there was nothing else to be said. $500 for no free WiFi, no microwave. Absolutely not worth it
We were shocked this place was an Omni. Does not live up to the name and reputation of other Omnis and frankly not anywhere close to a 4 star hotel experience. Ive stayed at 3 star hotels like a Courtyard Inn that were in better condition than this. Here were the issues we faced:1. We paid extra for a balcony room. Our balcony was a joke. It was hardly large enough for one person to stand. It was filthy - bird poop and dirt everywhere. Completely unusable.2. The carpet was dirty and dingy, especially near the balcony. It needs to be updated.3. The bathroom sink faucet was leaking...bad. We had to use towels to stop the leak from getting on the floor.4. On our second morning the shower had ZERO hot water and me and my wife had to take ice cold showers. It was very unpleasant.5. On a minor point, the iron was broken (leaking water and didnt work) and we had to ask for a replacement one. Just made us late to our event.6. On our last morning, at 10:30am we get rude knocking on our door. First we thought it was an accident but the second knock was louder and more aggressive. Housekeeping was there and said they were there for checkout. I said checkout was 12pm and the housekeeper rudely said ok Ill come back later and walked away. No apology or anything. I frantically called the front desk and they confirmed checkout was 12pm. The incident was totally disruptive to our morning and should not have happened. These issues are totally not reflective of 4 star hotel experience and for the price we paid. The best parts of the hotel were a beautiful lobby and a nice pool area. The staff was nice too. But Im never coming back here again and would not recommend a stay here.
This hotel is very overpriced. It feels very dated and the rooms are not in good shape. Shower rusty, dirty tiles, bathroom very dark, and room dark as well. The bed is good and no sounds kept me up. The service is exceptional but it feels like trying to keep and old car running by updating the seats. There are better options for comparable price nearby.
Positive: Nothing Negative: Service. The staff were rude. Hotel employee at San Antonio Omni did not have the courtesy to print out a receipt when I asked for it at checkout. Staff is not willing to work with customers. Glad to hear this place got bought out hopefully things will be
First off.. the area seems a bit unsafe. There is a neighborhood of tents for homeless people I presume. Makes me feel like I cant park my car without worrying about someone trying to break into it. Lobby seemed clean and the lobby staff were friendly. Got to our room a spent about $400 plus for two nights. Parts of the floor were wet for some reason. No microwave. The bathroom seemed very mediocre for Omni standards. The one in corpus cjristi is a lot more luxurious so I assumed itd be the same at this one. I was very wrong about that. Definitely not worth the money and wont be staying there again.
I was extremely disappointed during this stay at Austin OMNI through and through. Upon arrival I was so excited because typically my frequent business stays are at IHG locations; however I got a bonus and wanted to stay somewhere luxurious. I was also going to have 2 have local business partners come dip in the pool (I expressed this while getting a room reserved). AFTER handing over my company credit card they told me no guests allowed into the hotel unless they buy a $65.00 day pass EACH just for pool/hot tub access since the food ad drinks were closed due to COVID. (BTW the day passes were sold out already) or purchase a room for themselves. Something else they failed to mention before paying was the animal cleaning fee. I have never in my three years of traveling for work had to pay a cleaning fee for my service K-9 which I showed paperwork for during check in. $125.00 is outrageous considering my well-trained dog made less of a mess than I did while staying there. That is almost what I paid for the room itself!!! On top of that- this location is extremely out dated for the price and entirely too strict in my opinion. We forgot our wristbands for the hot tub (the one that did not even work during my stay) when we checked in and had trouble getting them from the desk. The room was dusty even underneath the I have been sanitized labeled plastic on the remote and coffee supplies. When I expressed my upset during check out to Kelly she said there was nothing she could do. She stated They might give you a free night if you email support. However, I do not ever want to stay at this location or with Omni brand for that matter ever again unless I feel made important or at least have my concerns heard. My overall experience put a bad taste in my mouth and I will not recommend this to any local partners or friends.
This is one of the last of the true 4 star south Austin hotels left. (The round Hilton Airport & The Marriott a few doors down are the others until you get to downtown)Great place... Again... No thru Hotwire for about half off what they charge... Sometimes more.Services are limited at the moment, but they do have food, bar options on site... And they are not bad. If not to your liking.. go a few hotels down to the RamadasEatery and get the the steak and fries... (Yummy!) Actually, you can get just about anything off this menu and youre going to be impressed and you dont have to be staying at the Ramada to order from them... Kind of a hidden South restaurant gem definitely off the beaten track and not as well known about.Tons of free parking and a small but very friendly and capable staff... Round out one of the nicer places to stay if your South of downtown. Been that way for decades.Good luck, Have Fun, Stay safe!
Stayed here for a conference and loved it. They provided our conference food, which was excellent. The Onion Creek Grille is a little pricey but decent food quality. All of the staff were nice. Clean rooms, quiet all day and night, very accommodating. Only wish the rooms had microwaves.
Rooms were clean, and that’s the important part BUT I was extremely disappointed in the lack of things that came with the stay. I paid $110 a night and I did not even have a microwave in the room. I had a fridge, but I couldn’t reheat any of the leftovers I had while I stayed here. There were also no plugs on my side of the bed. I would like to be able to charge my phone while I’m sleeping for this price. Motel 6 offers this, but not Omni. Also, they CHARGED FOR BREAKFAST. I’ve stayed in far less nicer hotels that offered breakfast with your stay. Sorry, but I’m not paying $4 for a breakfast taco after paying almost $300 for two nights stay and not being able to charge my phone at night. Again, Motel 6 at least offers granola bars in the lobby. We felt safe and had a good stay, but the amenities are extremely lacking here. For this price, I’m sure you could get way more in the area. Lesson learned!
I was completely underwhelmed. I understand that because of COVID many of the amenities that would normally be provided were unavailable. In that case, what would be considered a nice hotel became a Motel 6. Last time I stayed at Motel 6 the wifi was free. I paid 13.95 for mediocre wifi. The only reason that I gave three stars and not two was the staff. They were great.
Great staff for sure, very accommodating and pleasantI would not think this is a 4 start hotelvery old, you hear all the highway noise, wind tunnel through the window, the fridge was not working, the wifi is for a charge! the bar was closed, resturant offer to go order only, limited checkin hours until 9:30 pm!very weird hotel
Worst Omni ever. No free Wi-Fi. No hot water. There is mold in the room I was in. You can smell it as you walk in. They sent a maintenance guy to check and he was like I dont smell anything in a cocky voice and walks out. My allergies can sure feel lit. The lamps are not simple to use. Trying to find the switch to turn them on in the dark is extremely difficult. The only switch for the main lights is by the Door.
Staff is amazing and very friendly. Stayed here from 4/9-4/11/2021. Rooms are a little outdated but very spacious, no microwave, small fridge, keurig coffee machine, very poor choice of coffee selection (all decaf), balcony very spacious. Recommend the kind bed, closet small. Complementary soaps are very nice brand (nest), restroom was a little small. they state they disinfect between stays, but recommend disinfecting upon entering. pool and fitness area are very nice and clean. There is a suana available as well. wifi is not free unless you sign up for the hotels mailing list. Mask are recommended in the hotel and safety protocols are involved but we saw many people not following covid protocols. I never once heard a hotel member enforce masks,be cautious. Parking not to crowded. Luggage carts are available but more is needed as we had a hard time obtaining one. Did not get a chance to visit the small store in the hotel or the restaurant.
Serious freeway traffic noise. Room was missing lightbulb and a shower head. We had to change rooms. For two people there were only two towels, one robe, no drinking cups and less than a roll of toilet paper. There is a large homeless tent city within walking distance from the hotel. This is not a four star.
Horrible experience. The restaurant was closed, the limited food menu wasn’t accurate, the hotel lost power and so there was no heat. People go to hotels in times of crisis, there should have been a generator. Amenities are dated and rooms are dark. Also, we were staying in a smoke free room and the room reeked of smoke and we had to pack up our things and request to move.My first time staying at an Omni Hotel and because of this first impression, if I have the option, I will not plan to stay again.
Positive: Nothing. When I booked this room, I was under the impression this was the Omni Hotel. This is far from it. The hotel had better days. Negative: When I booked this room, I was under the impression this was the Omni Hotel. This is far from it. The hotel had better days.
Have to say this was not the most pleasant hotel stay Ive had.Positive points:Room was cleanNo pestsNot very busyAmple parkingGood staffNegative points:Though our room had a balcony, it faced a busy highway and was LOUD.Mattress was weak - you got sucked into the vortex in the middle giving a very uncomfortable sleep. We actually had two rooms and BOTH beds of different sizes had the same problem. The second room was dingy as in inadequately lit.It was kind of in a run down section of town with homeless encampments on the opposite corner to the hotel. No restaurant operating, only a cafe with boxes of cereal on a shelf and hot coffee. Completely inadequate breakfast options and no lunch/dinner options. No restaurants close by within walking distance which is just as well since walking around in that neighborhood might be kind of uncomfortable considering the ambiance. Not the Omni hotel experience one would expect.
This was the worse stay at a hotel I have ever had. The hotel is extremely outdated as if you went to your grandmother’s 1950’s apartment. The window tint is literally peeling off along with the wall paper. Then my car gets broken into and they stole my license plates off my car. I will never stay at an Omni again it’s the worse chain like it’s expensive and old and no security keep your money go to another hotel this is not it.
Went here for a conference and enjoyed my stay. Had an issue checking in - they said they would put a hold on my card for $50 per night, but ended up putting a hold on the full amount. The room is spacious, bright, and clean. The conference room is super nice. The breakfast buffet has a good variety of food and the wait staff are excellent. The catering and bar service for the event was great. The bar in the lobby is a nice comfortable area to sit and talk. The pool area is very nice and has lots of comfy, shaded seating. The biggest issue we had was the cleaning service threw out two stacks of a colleagues business records and the manager refused to do anything about it except offer a free breakfast.
The room was beautiful, wonderful bed, the manager, Tiffany was wonderful! We had a credit card mix up, and it was my daughters birthday, so she waived the $75 deposit, and sent up cheesecake for her! It was so quiet at night and we slept so well! The pool was lots of fun!
My boyfriend and I booked a stay here for one night after having a terrible experience at another hotel the night before. From beginning to end our experience with Omni was amazing. Booking was very simple over the phone; when we arrived, room keys were already made and waiting for us even though we had just booked a reservation hours before. When we went to our room, we realized it hadnt been cleaned - room service was still out and towels were on the floor - but the front staff was amazing at remedying the situation. They offered to hold our bags, gave us a free drink at the bar so the short wait for our room would go by quicker and they immediately sent a clean up crew to ready the room. When the room was clean, they found us in the lobby and retrieved our bags for us. When we got to our room we were surprised to find complimentary champagne and macaroons waiting for us.Our evening in the room was quiet and comfortable. We were woken at promptly at 8:45 am with a knock on the door with complimentary coffee and juice as requested the night before. Will definitely stay at Omni again! Special shout out to front office manager, Jerry Rodriguez, for making our stay so amazing! He facilitated all of what was mentioned above. It was our one year anniversary and he made the day very special!
To start off when you are checking in at the lobby the ceiling is bubbling and looks rotted, the service was nonexistent and rude, room had sheetrock coming off of the ceiling in shower area, the wallpaper was coming off the wall in multiple places, the water took 10 minutes to warm up for a shower, there was no water pressure if you wanted hot water, inadequate lighting through out room and curtains covered in dust. (Open the curtains and a cloud of dust rains down on you) then when the A/C turns on it will wake you up with loud screeching noise. This experience was the worst I have ever had at any hotel I have ever stayed at. It should definitely not be rated at 4 stars. DEFINITELY A DISAPPOINTMENT.
This Hotel has a great pool this was our first time in Austin and this Hotel was plain horrible 😫 the staff was something else the only person that when above and beyond was the girl that check me in Annie other than that after my second stay there was bed bugs in my room I call frond desk to ask was the process to check out. This is definitely not a hotel I would recommend at all. They did refund my whole money but the point is not the money is the horrible experience we had and the rash my husband and myself had. Alfonso (Manager) was going to call me back on a update never did and worst the general manager of this facility never gave us a call to see how we were doing or of there was a anything to make our experience better. Very poor customer service.
The stay here was horrible from the start. Rude stuff at the front. Dirty rooms. Water leaking from the windows coming into our room and we had to be moved to a different room. Also have thieves working there as housekeepers as they stole my husbands go pro camera. I know for a fact that the camera was left there in the hotel room. We are from out of town and that was the only location we stayed at and we came straight home after our stay there. The camera was nowhere to be found. Called hotel back and they were not helpful at all only to be told that our camera was not found after they went back and looked in our room. It’s sad that this place employs thief’s!!! Finally, my daughter has bites on her arm from the bed bugs at this hotel! Caution don’t waste your money here. There are way better hotels in Austin than this hotel!!!!
COCKROACH and backed up plumbing.I booked this hotel as a last minute stay, having stayed here before. I asked for a late check out and the woman checking me in said she would have to check if they had any available and then just didn’t. When I got to the room and started to unpack my things in the bathroom, a cockroach came out from under the sink and started to check out my toiletries. Then later, when I was brushing my teeth for bed the handle fell off of the sink. The next morning, in the shower, the tub wouldn’t drain so I was standing in 2 inches of water. When I spoke with the front desk upon checkout, the attendant was very apologetic, but only offered me $50 off of my bill. Don’t stay here.
I don’t know how this hotel has a 4.1 rating, it was absolutely horrible and rundown. The pool was completely unsanitary. When speaking with Annie about my concerns, she was very condescending and rude, acting as if I was stupid. I would rather stay at a motel 8 or in a tent with the hobos that are camped right next to the hotel.
The rooms are spacious. The hotel is large and spread out. Room service is excellent. But they are not paying attention to the details. The refrigerator wasnt plugged in. The plug in the bathroom didnt work and had to report that 2 days in a row before they got it working.
I got married a month ago and booked the Omni Austin Hotel at Southpark. It was the best night of my life marrying the love of my life. Since I have stayed at the Omni (not this location) in the past it was disappointing to have experienced bed bugs in the room. We had to leave in the middle of the night as they were on the bed, pillows, and in the closet. It was devastating to have them on my wedding dress and bag. I was also bitten on my neck. After speaking to the manager I was credited my entire stay however there wasnt anything put in place to reimburse me or have my dress cleaned. We werent able to bring our belongings into our home and had to purchase items to clean the vehicle carpet, suitcases and clothes. I am unable to store my dress, cleaners knowingly will not accept because they were exposed to bed bugs and could potentially infect other items in their establishment nor can I sell it. I have reached out to the Corporate office twice and havent heard back. I will not recommend staying at this location. They have definitely lost us as a customer due to a lack of response from Corporate on what they are willing to do about my dream dress.
While this is a two star, Im going to point out things that Ive noticed, but I only stayed there one night so things could be different. We checked in super late which probably didnt help my attitude toward the hotel.- When we arrived there was a small dog owner convention (not attending) going to start the next day and there were only two staff members checking everyone in. The staff wasnt rude, it just seemed like they were the only two people in the hotel. I felt bad for how busy they were.- When I asked about breakfast the staff mentioned that because they were so busy it probably wouldnt be happening. This was interesting to me because if youre busy, wouldnt you want breakfast to be ready? Extra revenue?- We got to our room and I just kept getting a feeling that they need to remodel/refurbish the hotel drastically. Rust on fire sprinklers, visible staples in the wall to keep the floor trim up, wallpaper coming off the wall, not really someplace I want my family to stay for an extended time. Not trying to gripe, it was a quiet stay which was nice considering all of the dogs that were in the hotel. We chose there because the hotel rate was drastically cheaper than others. It was a good one night sleep for passing through Austin.
The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful. They do not provide a continental breakfast which was disappointing because of how much the room was. The pool is beautiful even though we didnt use it. I heard they shot a scene from Miss. Congeniality there.
This is an older hotel but very well kept our check-in was quick and they offered his cold water which I thought was very thoughtful as the day was very hot . Our room was clean and well-appointed. The bathroom had everything you needed plenty of towels I did not use the shampoo but the body wash was actually really good and of course there was plenty of hot water which is the most important thing to me other than cleanliness in a bathroom. The bedding and sheets were good my only complaint was that the bed could have potentially been told as it did not provide as much support as I would have liked. The lobby is well-decorated and I appreciated the fresh flowers throughout my only complaint was that when you walked up to the hotel the valets trash can was overflowing. I will definitely be staying in this hotel again it has a spa and while I was not able to use the services I will definitely come back to do that as well its a great little Oasis in South Austin for a quick weekend getaway or if youre from out of town this is a great place to stay thats close to downtown but far enough away from the chaos to get some rest

2022-03-18Liz, Jeovanni, and Noah made our stay really awesome! Room is nice and felt cozy. The balcony on the sixth floor was great. It is small but does the job. Yes, there is noise from the highway but we kinda enjoyed that. The location feels safe and is well lit. Pool looks awesome and inviting. They do seem very short staffed, but they’re doing the best they can and doing it pretty well all things considered.

2022-05-03My husband and I had a very pleasant stay! The hotel staff was friendly and easily accommodated our late check-in and late check-out requests. I felt safe and comfortable the entire visit. The room was a little outdated but still well worth the price paid. 4.5/5.

2022-05-16I came here for a two day business conference. This is definitely not one of Marriott’s better properties. While the staff is nice and the hotel is clean, there are some significant oversights. First, the bed quality (at least in room 500) was awful. The mattress needed changing years ago. Next, the hotel’s gym, which is well equipped, doesn’t open until 7 am local. Business travelers are typically leaving for work in the morning so not having a gym available early was unexpected. I did check the website and see that it is advertised is not opening until 7 AM, but I’ve never been to a Marriott property where the fitness center is not 24 hours. Very disappointing. When I did go in the gym room, I had to come tell the staff that the air conditioning needed to be turned on in the room because it was above 75° and that the water fountain was not working. Finally, as of 7 AM in the morning, there is no coffee in this hotel anywhere.I’ve stayed a lot of Marriott properties, many of which are their convenience hotels. For a mid range hotel, this is definitely been disappointing.

2022-04-10Close to perfect stay! Great location, amenities are excellent and their pool is the best Ive encountered in Austin. The gym is well equipped and the bar in the center of the lobby is really neat! Check in clerks are friendly and the on site restaurant is pretty decent. The only thing keeping me from rating 4 stars is the water temp for the showers. They take up to 10 min to heat up and when they do its just above lukewarm. Otherwise perfect stay and plenty of free parking!

2022-06-29My flight was canceled. I was able to get a room at the last minute ended up being a mini vacation me and my two boys had so much fun at the indoor pool the entire hotel was clean and very well maintained we felt at home the staff were amazing as well. I ate at the Onion Creek the restaurant it self was closed at the time of my stay, but I was still able to order at the bar they called my room when it was ready. I had the margarita at the bar and it was one of the best margaritas I’ve ever had bartender was great. Tv seemed to only work at night in my room. I had a wonderful stay Thank You 😊

2022-03-03Positive: Value for price paid ($-- a night). Friendly and helpful staff. Large lobby. Spacious rooms. Free and ample parking. Negative: No laundry machines or service on site. Closest laundromat is not walking distance. Bathrooms a bit outdated, but largest issue was lack of sufficient lighting in shower.

2022-04-28I stayed this week for business. I seen lots of reviews saying hotel is outdated. It is but Marriott just bought it so I’m sure they will upgrade. My room was just fine and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The only complaint is the internet is not that reliable and staff confirmed it is an issue. I would stay here again on my next trip to Austin. The price was excellent.

2022-03-24Overall, letdown by this hotel. When we arrive the room was rather old and gloomy. We were thrilled to be able to take a shower and immediately realized the shower did not get warm. We called the front desk and he screamed to leave it on for 10 mins and then it would. I asked him if every room was like that or if we should switch rooms, and he said that was every room. To top it off the bath tub was extremely clogged. After leaving it on for 10 minutes for it to get hot, we had to stand in 6-8 inches of hotel bath tub water - GERMS. The AC barely worked during the day.Not a single vending machine. Bring snacks/ drinks if you want anything after the gift shop closes. Also coffee is not free in hotel.Last, they put what they said was a $700 hold on my card… which we then called about to find out we were over charged. After calling again, they insisted it was our error. Finally they came to the conclusion, it was their error and a double charge. Now patiently waiting 7-10 business days for the money back. Our only positive feedback - the bartender is a gem!

2022-06-07Positive: The lobby area was nice, great pool, staff was friendly, good location Negative: It¿s definitely not a 3.5 star hotel. Maybe it used to be in its prime, but it¿s gone downhill from that. It was not bad. However, the rooms definitely need to be redone or they need to rethink that rating. Also-no microwave & fridge was not cold.

2022-06-20We booked with the hotel for our wedding. It wasnt our first choice but thats ok! The rooms and hotel itself is nice enough. Certainly very spacious and clean. But dealing with the director of sales was a completely different experience. She would get my name wrong MANY times in emails and official documents. She actually got our guests name wrong when she had sent over a copy of who was staying in our block to confirm their dates and confirmation numbers. She didnt apologize at all or showed any kind of concern for the misspellings. I dont know if this was racial since me and my guests have very Hispanic last names, or just incompetence, either way it was very disrespectful to me. We were due to check in Tuesday but she didnt have paper work sent to me until Friday afternoon but even then left for the weekend and ended all communication until Monday, when she wanted to charge us for another room. I understand her not working the weekends but we clearly had many errors to correct and couldnt wait until Monday. We had talked to two other people at the hotel about our complimentary upgrade. We have two kids (10 and 11) who needed a room but one with us so we connected the parlor room with a king size bed. We talked to two people who said that was fine and that the parlor could have another bed. However, the director of sales said they could not do that and to either charge us to connect another king size bed or two double beds (who is honestly going to choose a double bed for their wedding?!). She claimed that she didnt have to give us any upgrades at all and she was doing this to be nice but it sounded very condescending. We werent looking to get a free room or perks, we just wanted a good room for us and our kids. Once we got to the hotel, the parlor room has not 1, but 2 couches that have pull out beds which means we absolutely could have stayed with the parlor room and a single king bed. This told me that the director of sales either wanted to charge us for another room out of greed or just doesnt know her hotel. And even through all of this, her final email to me still had my name wrong. The hotel itself is lovely and has a great pool. But I would not use this for a major event since the director of sales is just not cooperative.
