Such a great place for me to see my FRIENDS AND MOST IMPORTANT people of my life. Loved the pool and its in a very close proximity to a GAME room...$$$.I was close to my psychotic mother who Is being loved by DR&N just behind Krogers. And I am able to take her to NTFR for bingo
I rented for a week. The rooms are run down. Filthy. Roaches. And the drug people stay up all day and night. I found a drug needle behind night stand when I dropped some change. Used. They refused to give back.my money
While the Clayton house is not the Hilton it is however in inexpensive place to stay for low-income people. They have low weekly rates and they have been mine saving Grace and angels. The staff there is very nice also . While I am leaving the Clayton house and flying out of state I will continue to stay friends with the staff so I actually benefited and made friends to take with me.
It used to be nice. They first gave me a room that was being remodeled,or it had a water leak,then sent me to another room that already had people in it, then the 3rd room wasnt ready,they had to make up the bed & get clean towels,clean the room. It is infested with roaches crawling on the walls, & on the TV while u try to watch it. The toilet leaks water & the shower doesnt work correctly. My first time in a LONG time since i stayed there, i will not be going back. And it was $64+ tx + a $6 charge for the credit card machine. $71 total.
Bed bug city and they tried to charge for a second room instead of just moving rooms or giving a refund. Took 2 days to get a partial refund. The original room was used as a crack rental and had bloody tampons in the trash. Im not even the one that stayed but I got to deal with them and it was ridiculous. They lie and try to con every situation. I was a law librarian and worked in a safety Dept.... Not the one to lie to
Im kinda embarrassed to admit I was here. Should have known better. Room had roaches, door didnt stay locked, poop in the toilet and wouldnt flush, tub full of water, a guy asked if I had a cigarette and then asked if I had meth for sale. Office would not refund my money. From my short time there and other reviews I know they dont clean the rooms.
This motel is sickening! In just the first 15 mins of being in the room, 4 roaches were crawling all over the place. The bed sheets had blood on them. The floor had puke in the carpet, complete with chunks!! This place is so gross! We couldnt stay there, of course, but they wont even make it right. Just stay far from this motel.
Terrible place. Dirty, lights didnt work, cable TV in two rooms didnt work work and they refused to refund my money. The manager refused to call me back regarding a refund on my account after I left without staying. Probably the worst motel Ive ever been in. For your own safety, do not stay at this place.
First of all I paid 50 dollars for a night and was sent to room 217 as soon as soon as I started to fall asleep I felt stuff crawling on my arms I looked with the light from my phone and there were bed bugs all over the bed an absolute infestation. After that I went down to the office and was refused a refund instead they moved me to room 224 but by that time it was too late I had bites all over my arms and other places that itched and burned for 3 days an absolute nightmare. To make it all worse while the bed bugs feasted on me the roaches feasted on my leftover food I will never return its not even worth 50 dollars clayton motel is so bad it should be condemned the owners are taking advantage of desperate people and drug addicts.
Disgusting. I had an unfortunate event that led me here for a short period of time, but looking back, I think staying in my car would have been better. My husband and I both got completely but all over by bedbugs, and thats just the beginning. Be careful if you absolutely must stay here.
Lets just say that I put 1 star because that step was a requirement. My fiance rented out a room for us, himself, our two sons and I. The moment that we were about to check into our room, it was completely filthy. There was trash everywhere, the bed was not made and then some. They did come to clean it immediately tho. When entering the room, there was a smell of cleanliness and soiled carpet. The first thing that we noticed was that there was mold on the back side of the window curtain. We made a complaint and they said that they would replace it the next day. They also said that they would send someone to bring toilet paper and we never received any. My went to warm my kids (1 and 3 yrs old) food to eat and the microwave was sparking on the inside, as well as underneath (almost creating flames). It was reported and no one came to look at it. We were told that they could not refund us or money and that the owner would be available the next day so we had to stay. Keep in mind, we spent all the money that we had to book the room. My 3 year old was so uncomfotable that he couldnt fall to sleep. He would cry and scream because he was afraid to sleep after slipping on water that was coming from the bathroom ceiling onto the floor and outside of it. When i turned on the light to check on him, there were several roaches crawling around under the sink. Went to get my money back the morning after and they charged me a 70 refund fee. They wouldnt give me a managers number until i called the police; which Im not sure is really the manager. They didnt know the number to corporate and they just didnt care to be honest. This place truly needs to be reported to the board of health ASAP. Which i will be doing. Oh and lets not forgwt tgat tgey took my receipt and refused to return the original copy to me.
Terrible Place!!Bugs in the room everywhere!!Over Priced!!Bed Bugs!!I had to sleep in my car too many bugs in room!!Confronted by 2 guys about getting ripped off doing a drug deal in the parking lot!!Shady people all around that bug infested motel!!Did not get any of my money back for having to sleep in my car!The place needs to be condemned!
I stopped off here in the afternoon because I was so exhausted. The bed was the worst bed I had ever attempted to sleep in and was not able to sleep that afternoon or the entire night! The windows are paper thin and I could hear a woman talking outside her room for an hour and a half. Then there was an altercation with some man and the hotel had to throw them out! I had to listen to all of this late at night. There was no blanket On the bed or a top sheet. This was by far the worst experience Ive ever had in a hotel but the hotel down University Ave that I usually stay in was booked full.
Holy Horrendous Experience! You know youre in trouble when just checking in is an unpleasant experience what with the rude owner who works the desk. Treated me like I was something on the bottom of his shoe. And it just got worse and worse. I dropped my bag off in my room and went away for 2-3 hours, so when I came back it was dark, and the creatures who stay at the motel on a regular basis come out of the woodwork. Loud and stomping around and yelling to their friends in the parking lot, these scuzzballs never shut up. And I could hear the people in the room next to mine arguing at the top of their lungs. Calling and complaining to the desk person didnt help. The room smelled and had a very uncomfortable bed with stained sheets and pillow cases; there was only lukewarm water; and there were dead bugs on the bathroom floor. I left bright and early at 7:00a and will never go back. An atrocity, this place.
Clayton House is just your basic, basic cheap motel. They do offer a very good weekly rate of $220. Thats $8-$10 a night cheaper than most of its competitors. That mighty not be much for most of you, but it pays for my dinner. By the way, there are a lot of decent, reasonably- priced places to eat within walking distance. You will have to pay a deposit if you want a non-smoking room. They do NOT accept pets!If you go to Google and search for reviews you will find them - all BAD! It is alleged that the rooms and linens are dirty,, that prostitution and drug use happens in the rooms away fro the road, the management is rude, the Continental breakfast is week-old donuts, the coffee is old, etc., etc.Id recommend that you at least ask to see the room before paying. It might be worth a few dollars more to get a nicer, safer place to spent the night.
This place is some kind of sick joke, we recently stayed at this establishment 10/19/17 we were greeted well and handed a key upon inspection the room had a foul odor of cigarettes and molded wood. We were exhausted traveling from San Antonio to Oklahoma City with a 19 month old that’s too far of a drive. We were awoken every few hours and had a restless night. When we went to shower in the morning we were covered in bed bug bites. Between the three of us my hubby, daughter and I we have over 100 bed bug bites!!!!!!!!! Do not stay here at all costs you may as well have slept in poison ivy, you would of had less hives. I will forever more be traumatized by this stay. AVOID THIS PLACE WE SLEPT IN ROOM 104 BEWARE would give zero stars but unable to
I have been staying here on and off for a few years now and i can honestly say o have never seen or smelled such a clean room. Whomever they hired for housekeeping is doing an amazing job.
They have roaches but dont have time to spray Im a non smoker but the room smells so bad I have to spray constantly house keeping just vaccums room n not very good at that not once has the sheets been changed good thing I have my own blanket n pillows so I dont use theres. Ice machine been broken for over a week n they dont have time to fix that either. But it is quiet and the office ppl are nice n there weekly rate is a good price. Maintance guy dont know Wat hes doing but I have no where else to go
NO stars! Yes it has a cheap weekly rate but soooo NOT worth it....unless of course you like bed bugs and roaches. Terrible terrible place (other than Jackie, housekeeping) this is absolutely the WORST motel and should have been shut down a LONG time ago. Ooh did I fail to mention the drug bust that happened less than a month ago. Not even worth the cheap price they charge.
Pretty awful hotel. As a resident of Denton, I can tell you that you do NOT want to stay here. Its a haven for drug dealers. Before you think about checking in, just take a drive around. See how all the door frames have been repaired several times? Thats because the doors get kicked in all the time.Dont go here. Dont stop here. Dont walk past it, especially after dark.
Hands down the worst motel ive stayed at and its run by crack heads the people behind the counter look like they are tweaking bad and even the kids look like they are abused. Rooms had cockroaches and left over neeedles from the previous people. Ive tried booking a room over the phone amd they just hang up. If your looking to catch a disease this is the place to go.
Outside my door, from 11pm until 2;30am, then again starting at 6:00 am until 1:00pm, a bum in a broken truck would sing, wave around sharp objects and hammer relentlessly on pieces of metal. I was told he had been there for months, doing the exact same thing ... Where was the staggering monument he created? Behold, there were still just badly battered pieces of metal sitting there, waiting to be battered more.... for absolutely no reason at all. But then, futility just seemed to blossom from here on, riding from one event to the next...Now even though this particular disturbance would have been immediately alarming, possibly traumatizing to the average person, it was but a trifle to the office and some of the other guests. But, on closer inspection, it made sense, because several of the guests were high, and the rest were screaming, whistling or clapping during these same hours.Then things got absolutely comical, when I discovered that nearly half the ghouls occupying the rooms, including the front desk, seemed to be intimate with the maniac in the truck, and treated him better than the few civilized occupants trying to get a night of sleep. But sleep, (which is a good foundation for learning or producing something of worth in this world) was something that seemed to be of marginal interest here....After all this, and taking a good look around, I noticed that I was seeing some of the lowest members of the human race converged to a compact point. I could not help but wonder what other delights I would have experienced, should I have stayed in these decaying ruins another moment.....hmmm?Would I like to go for a dip in the pool? With conviction, nope. Now lets add hell to this sentiment, since the word was never far from my mind during my stay. Continental breakfast? Eh, lets just go ahead and give up on that idea, now..Remaining distant from the Clayton House is a good first step in dodging misery. I believe the only truly happy visitors here would be a demolition crew.
Staying at this motel, Clayton House Motel, is a very dreadful experience.It is not a good recommendation to stay in this motel, for any professional or otherwise. theres a lot of drug activity, Residence moving from room to room. the noise level at night when people should be sleeping is extremely high. such as, people yelling and or arguing, doors slamming close. room service is well below satisfactory. the management, lets a lot of this happen and go unspoken, and when I was standing there seems to be that he was actually even promoting and or participating in some of these activities. as well as management and workers fraternizing with residents. and I was even told by one of his workers,that prostitution the management promotes. out of my top 5 worse motels I have ever stayed in. If I could do no stars I would. Stained sheets, hair and stains on pillows, water damage, leaking in bathroom, smells like a dead prostitute(probably one of the ones from the back side of the building). Absolutely disgusting. I guess you get what you pay for. Thank god we were traveling and had sleeping bags to sleep in on top the bed!
Place is nasty as hell .. No vacuum vleaners.floors nastsy. I was charged 45 dollars a night for a week. Needed to stay 2 morw day then they upped the pruce to 65 a day. This plaxe is a rip off.

Everyone that makes a good revue of this place are too stupid or high on drugs too even notice what a good hotel is.Condemn this place and enrich the neighborhood with a parking lot.
By far, the absolute worst motel in Denton. The weekly guests are horrendously loud, the owner is ultra-rude, the prices are high, and the rooms are dank and dirty with no soundproofing in the walls whatsoever. If you have to stay, request a room in the front facing University Drive because drug dealers and prostitutes frequent the back end.
Roaches everywhere. No light switch. Toilet didnt work properly and shutoff valve would not work. Filthy. Code violations. The city needs to condemn this place.
The pits. By far the worse motel in Denton. Chock-full of junkies and welfare moms who pay by the week. Bebugs and dirty, smelly rooms that will make you sick. Believe me, shell out extra $$$ for another motel, because I promise you it will be worth it.
People/guest mind there own business and the best part you get what you pay for if you can afford to pay hundred plus on a room I dont know why your looking here. Theres other motel good luck

Okay when we got here front desk was very nice.And then here almost a week now with no refunds and housekeeper only showed up one time didnt give me any clean sheets take trash one time and only gives us a couple of bath towels for the whole week we have been here no AC hot ass hell .pulled up afther work in man in parking lot taking a pee ..as I can see there is alot of drugs deals going on here as well so if you nedn a place to stay dont come here better off looking some where else.
My son stayed here. Horrible living conditions, filthy rooms, most of which are in need of repairs. The staff was rude. This place should be torn down. The armpit of Denton.

Stayed here couple years back was quit now new day managers think they own the place so they dont have follow the rules its 10:30 pm and day manager next door to me playing music like its a club i have work and cant sleep becouse of the bass management is horrible giving 1/10 of a star do not stay here

If no stars was an option they would get no stars this is the worst motel I’ve stayed at there was roaches the cleaning staff is terrible I had my two small children staying with me and my 4 year old found a prescription pill bottle under the bed luckily I was right there and threw it in the dumpster outside and the bed had roaches both my children got bit I paid for a weeks stay and when I found bed bugs I went to the office asking for my money back I was going somewhere else they said I could not have my money back so I lost all the money I paid

2022-07-05I have been 10 mos. A little rocky in the beginning due to office and maintenance people. They are doing a good job of trying to fix the problems from before. New office and maintenance folks. Owners are on-site every day. They have been friendly and kind to me. The rates are reasonable.

2021-10-09If I could rate this dump less than one starit would be less.Out dated,roaches,and very dirty. Definitely. not worth as low as 10 bucks a night( 50-65 bucks, depending on front or back rooms)

2021-09-28Had to give this place at least one start to write a review. I wouldnt have given it half a star. paint peels off the walls, theres holes in the wall receptacles missing where there should be a plug-in, bathroom doors do not shut, even if they went through and cleaned it with a steam cleaner you wouldnt be able to tell because its so grungy and dirty. plus they throw you out if you have a visitor. stay , warning, stay far far away!

2020-10-28Carpet was super dirty. The toilet was broke half the time. The microwave went out and I asked for a new one and they didnt bring a microwave. The shower didnt have a shower head to were the water flooded the bathroom. People knocking on doors at one am.. being loud and inconsiderate to people asleep. And they didnt do a job housekeeping while I had my stay. And the phone didnt work.

2021-04-24At the Clayton house motel there was Peace and solitude for the weekends of my stay. Being a lower-priced motel with affordable weekly rates the courtesy extended was surprising. I did have a problem but they did extend professional courtesy and that is much appreciated. If you happen to be on a budget and you need a place to stay I suggest the Clayton House Motel. Convient and close to area Banks and Groceries stores as well as fitness centers and eateries.
