Absolutely amazing experience there! Stayed down there this past weekend and both Darrin and Keith were extremely accommodating and a very kind and sweet couple. I stayed in The Vineyard room and it was a perfect set up for one person and extremely affordable as well. Breakfast was on point both mornings there and I will for sure be staying there again whenever I do go back down for another visit!
We were visiting the San Antonio area for a long weekend and decided to spend a night out in the hill country. What a wonderful stay we had at the Equinox Inn! Everything was so thoughtfully done - the parking, the yard, the inn, the rooms, the breakfast, everything! I also loved that they provided an email ahead of time with a link to many different activities in the area (and how to get to each of them). It really was the little things at this wonderful inn that made such a difference. The kindness of the hosts, the care in preparing the breakfast, the snacks, the decor, the details on the area (in paper and electronic formats). We loved our stay here and would come back in a heartbeat should our travels bring us to this area again. Highly recommended!
Second time, returning to our favorite B&B in the Texas Hill Country and they exceeded our expectations again in so many ways. Keith & Darrin are the very best hosts. Awesome room, view, breakfast, charcuterie/cheese/fruit tray & treats. We’ll definitely return again!
Darrin and Keith were the best hosts ever. They both put a lot of love in every detail. They took care of us until the last minute we stayed there. We feel like at home. This bed and breakfast exceded our expectations. We stayed in the garden room. The room was super cozy and we had our private hottub. Breakfast was delicious. Thank you both to let us stayed. This was the best gateway ever.
This B&B was wonderful!! Darrin and Keith are so friendly, hospitable, and overall genuine people. My Husband and I stayed here during our honeymoon and it could not have been a more perfect place to stay. The breakfast each morning was amazing to say the least and although Darrin and Keith gave us space, we had some good conversation and they made so many great recommendation for things to do and food in the area. The place is homey and so peaceful! We loved the balcony, having coffee in our room, and the hot tub in the Garden room. My husband Jerry likes strong coffee and plain creamer so they filled our room with this to give him his favorites. We saw deer and wildlife everyday that we were there and even got to sit on the balcony during a little rain. The rooms were so clean, stocked, and had everything a hotel had plus so much more! I cannot forget to mention the beds and linens, AMAZING! Jerry and I stayed in the Crystal cove room and the Garden room and we loved both. We also loved the location as San Antonio and Austin are about 1 hour away, Gruene/New Braunfels and Wimberly are only 30 minutes away.We are already planning our next trip and cant wait to go back. Equinox Inn checks all the boxes on things that I look for in a Bed and Breakfast: Bed - King sized and very comfortable; Breakfast - Incredible meals prepared each morning. Dietary needs / restrictions are taken into consideration and meals are adjusted accordingly; and Location - this Beautiful B&B is located in the picturesque Hill Country of Canyon Lake, Texas. We stayed in the Stargazer Suite which has a Wonderful view of Canyon Lake. It is also a short drive to the area restaurants, attractions and events. There is an added benefit to Equinox Inn which makes it stand out from my other Bed and Breakfast stays - Hospitality. Darrin and Keith are warm, welcoming and very attentive to the needs of their guests. My overall rating is 5+ Stars and 2 Planets (we literally had the opportunity to Stargaze)!
I was warmly welcomed into this cozy and comfortable home away from home. Care had been taken over every detail of my stay.I had the Captain’s Room. The view off the back balcony was beautiful. The bed was large and comfortable and gave me the best night’s sleep I’d had in a quiet a while. When I over slept and slid into the dinning room at the last moment, Darrin and Keith kindly filed my plate with good things, no problem. Darrin clearly takes much thought and care to present a delightful and delicious meal. All and all, I left feeling I had two new friends and a regret I could not stay longer. Oh, and before I drove away, I tried out every spot in the yard, watching the deer and spending some much needed down time. Oh yes, I will be back.
Another perfect stay at this beautiful inn! From the luxuriously comfy bed to the beautiful, scrumptious breakfast… visiting with friends on the outside deck while listening to the fountains and watching the deer…. To every amenity you could need being thought of and made available… Darrin and Keith deserve ALL the stars… EVERY TIME! I can’t wait until next time!
We had a really great time! Darrin and Keith were very attentive, really nice, and sweet! We had the Lone Star room with the hot tub, it was super cozy and relaxing. My husband and I would definitely come back here!

This was the first time me and husband ever stayed at bed and breakfast and we were glad we choose the Equinox Inn. It set the bar high for our next stay any where away from home. The hosts were gracious and very accommodating. The grounds were beautiful and relaxing.The rooms were clean and beautifully decorated and beds were super comfortable. The breakfast was awesome!! Keith and Darrin are the most gracious hosts. They go above and beyond to make their guests comfortable during their stay. Breakfast was a unique experience (apart from the delicious food prepared by Darrin), as the deer familiar to the property came up close and personal to be fed their breakfast. The rooms are spacious and homey. Don’t forget to say hello to the B&B cat, Pepper, who lives outside, but will occasionally grace you with her presence on your room balcony.
My husband and I had an amazing evening at this beautiful bed and breakfast. The room was so warm and had everything we needed. We loved the hot tub as well! We got to see deer eating outside the entire time and enjoyed delicious meals prepared by the hosts. The area was perfect and had so much to offer. We stayed the weekend before the ice storm hit Texas and weather conditions started to turn for the worse. We had to cut our stay short but our hosts were so accommodating and kept our safety in mind. I would highly recommend spending some time here if you are looking for a homey, peaceful getaway with company that feels like family. Can’t wait to visit again!
My husband surprised me with a get away weekend for our 30th anniversary. I had no idea where we were going or what to expect, to say I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement. Darrin and Keith are the most gracious of hosts, more like visiting friends. Our 4 day/3 night stay got better and better each day. Our room “The Captains Bay Suite” was beautiful, the view across Canyon Lake was breathtaking, the bed was like sleeping on a cloud (we even bought the sheets). The breakfast Darrin prepared for us each morning was beautifully presented and absolutely delectable. With Darrin’s help, my husband had several surprises planned for me, chocolate covered strawberries waiting when we arrived, feeding Alice and her friends, chilled wine and shrimp waiting for us after a day of shopping and a magnificent massage, to name a few. Darrin and Keith has excellent suggestions for restaurants and activities in the area and there were plenty of places to relax on the property. We have already booked for next year, I may not be able to wait that long to visit again. I hear they really do Christmas up good! It may have been our first visit at a Bed and Breakfast but it certainly will not be our last. Thanks for making our special weekend memorable.
Darrin and Keith welcomed us into their Bed and Breakfast with open arms, making us feel right at home. Their beautiful décor, and cozy patio made it feel more than just a home, with all accommodations being met above standard. The breakfast from Darrin was out of this world, and we look forward to visiting again soon. We booked this as a getaway for our recent engagement, and couldnt have made a better choice.Equinox Inn is minutes away from great food and activities, with plenty of trails around canyon lake accessible from the property. Plenty of deer have made the residence their own, making for great scenery during your morning coffee. They were available to us at any time, even through text, making the booking and check in process simple. 10/10 would recommend!
I booked this room for my husband to give him his first experience in a hot tub as his birthday gift! I also had an event close by. The staff at the inn were exceptionally kind and welcoming! The room was absolutely perfect. They thought of everything! We sadly had to leave the next day earlier than expected, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back!
The owners of this Inn are raising the bar on expectations. Not only was everything perfect it was probably too perfect! From the room to the outdoors to the custom breakfast everything was just great. Ive traveled quite a bit over the years and now I have a new standard for what we are looking for in a hotel stay. This place is quite literally a home-away-from-home. There really is just no other way to describe it. Its no wonder the owners are mentors for other hotels. Now I just need to find them when traveling. :)
We loved absolutely everything about our stay! Darrin and her husband Keith were great hosts and they have thought of everything! We loved the option of having breakfast in the dining room with others or on our private deck as we watched the family of deer enjoying their own breakfast just a few feet away from us. Our personal hot tub was great for relaxing with a glass of 🍷at the end of the day and Darrin is an amazing cook with breakfasts designed around your tastes and dietary needs. The rooms are beautiful and so well appointed. It’s obvious the hosts have given a lot of thought to their guests’ needs and wants.
My husband and I had time for a quick 24 hour getaway from San Antonio and this was the perfect stay. A quick relaxing trip from San Antonio (less than 40 minutes), a dip in the hot tub (private to our room) and then massages for both of us made for the perfect stay! Breakfast was great and the accommodations were perfect! We will be back.
We stayed here for our anniversary in the Captains room. It was lovely! Breakfast was brought to our room and it was delicious! The sheets were sooo soft. The jet tub was fantastic. The private balcony was great. And the hosts are so nice! This was our first time staying at a bed and breakfast and we will definitely be going back.
The owners are the best. They both make you feel so welcome. The place is gorgeous. We wanted to get away from the city and this place was amazing. The breakfast was to die for. I would highly recommend a weekend or even planning an event you have at this property.
This is such a charming bend-n-breakfast. Each room is decorated so tastefully. Some of the rooms have views of Canyon Lake and the Hill country around it, in the distance.Keith and Darrin really go out of their way to make you feel welcome and comfortable.We enjoyed feeding the family of deer that live on the property.
Absolutely lovely. The rooms are very clean. And the hostes were wonderful and caring. I also had a massage. It was very relaxing. Breakfast was served every day and was delicious.
Had a wonderful stay for our 34th anniversary. Such a peaceful, relaxing and beautiful place. The hot tub and sitting area right outside our room was great! Darrins breakfasts are the cherry on top! She is a wonderful cook and we couldn’t have asked for more…..look forward to coming back!
This was a beautiful BnB, it was our first time trying a BnB and they were very sweet and thought of everything! The location was perfect near canyon lake and if you plan to go swimming they have floaties! We got the couples massage and it was awesome, super delicious and Darrin and her assistant were very attentive. I wish I had booked for 90 minutes! They had a snack bar for us and a great selection of tea and coffee and board games! The breakfast miss Darrin made every morning you could tell was made with love. We booked the Lonestar Mini Suite it was super clean super spacious and we had our own private hot tub and entrance. The only thing I would say is that we are used to a very soft bed so theirs was a little hard for us but the entire stay was still 5 stars! We brought our doggy and they were so sweet to her too! Thank you we will be back!
We had an amazing stay at Equinox! The host was so sweet it was like staying with family. We stayed in the vineyard room and it was clean and cozy. Breakfast in the morning was great, because of covid a lot of places dont offer a hot breakfast anymore, but Mrs.Hammons had all kinds of homemade food for us. Even snacks for while youre lounging around. This bed & breakfast is a home away from home.A big thank you to the Hammons for making our stay so comfortable. ❤️
Myself and my husband spent 2 nights here for our Babymoon and had the babymoon package and photoshoot. Everything was absolutely amazing. Darrin and Keith are fantastic, Darrin has got to be superwoman she doesnt stop and nothing is to much trouble for her guests. Had a great time and great fun. Will absolutely be back. Highly recommend to any adult couple, lovely romantic spot. The wildlife here is out of this world, birds, deer etc. We were able to hand feed wild deer in the garden. The Inn is also home to 2 beautiful cats. We stayed in the Garden Room which was just enchanting. Also I cannot forget to mention but the breakfast here 10 out of 10, Darrin is also a fantastic cook!!
What a wonderful accident! We were driving through the Canyon Lake area one Thursday in November and decided to try to stay overnight. We found the Equinox Inn listed on our Google map and called. Darrin invited us to come check them out and we are so glad that we did. The Stargazer room was large and comfortable; we enjoyed the deck view of the lake and were able to watch the deer feed right below us. Friday morning breakfast was scrumptious: fresh and homemade, and afterward, we watched Keith feed the deer directly from the corn bucket. We cannot say how much we were made to feel at home and treated like family by these two wonderful innkeepers. We will definitely be back.
We just returned from a very restful 5-day stay at the Equinox Inn. We stayed in the Captains Bay Suite and it was very comfortable, homey, and clean with a great view off the balcony of Canyon Lake. Keith and Darrin were the perfect hosts! Their attention to detail was excellent and they anticipated our needs without being intrusive. They are so welcoming and you can tell that they love people and truly enjoy hosting guests. The peace and quiet of the area was a much-welcomed change of pace and the highlight of each morning was being greeted by a family of deer at breakfast. I would recommend this B&B to anyone.
This was our first time not staying at a major hotel, but booking a bed and breakfast! This experience has us hooked. The owners were very friendly and gracious. They were the perfect hosts. The Inn is clean, beautiful, spacious, and has a lot of amenities we enjoyed including our own private bathroom, hot tub, deck, mini refrigerator, coffee maker, and entrance. The breakfast was a delight each morning, as were the snacks and drinks available throughout the day. We were only about a mile from the nearest boat ramp and had a partial view of the lake from our deck. The owners were so helpful when we left an item behind....getting it back to us quickly and without issues. They even helped us book another Inn for our travels home. If in Canyon Lake again...this will be our only place to stay!
My husband and I have been guests at the Inn many times, although we feel like family members. Our room is most comfortable, the breakfasts are delicious and filling. We count Darrin and Keith, not only as the owners of the Inn,, but interesting companions and good friends. Darrins massages are out of this world! We were clients of hers in Houston and followed her to the Inn.
My husband and I went for my 30th birthday and stayed in the captains suite. It was an amazing stay! The place was super peaceful. The breakfast was exceptional. The owners were so kind!! We will definitely be back!
From the moment we arrived, to the time we left, we were treated almost like family by Darrin and Keith. It was such a relaxing and enjoyable stay for our Anniversary get away that we are already talking about making another trek sometime soon. We enjoyed two nights and the room was very cozy, and the view of the lake was breathtaking in the distance. Breakfast in the morning was always excellent and so well-prepared with a very nice variety. Waking up and enjoying a cup of coffee or tea on the deck overlooking the scenery, and the wild deer that roam the premises was also just wonderful. We highly recommend Equinox Inn @ Biscuit Hill and have already referred others to them. We will be back as this is such a great spot..... THANK YOU!!!

This was our first time at a B&B for our anniversary. We drove a long way to get to the Equinox Inn and it was SO worth it. unfortunately we only planned 1 night away from our kids, but the owners, Darrin & Keith, made us feel so special... even for just one night. As soon as we pulled up, our stress began to melt away! This B&B is exactly what I imagined and MORE! The location has breath taking views and deer walk right up to you on the property! They also had various snacks and drinks available which was so refreshing. I received a wonderful massage that relaxed me and set the mood for the remainder of our stay. The owners also gave us great near by restaurant recommendations. Everything about our Stargazer room was lovely! Breakfast the next morning was truly a gourmet experience. We got to enjoy breakfast on our private balcony with a lake view!overall our only negative was that we didnt plan more time here. However I think we did find our new happy place. Thank you Equinox Inn!
Wonderful Experience!My wife and I celebrated our 28th wedding anniversary by getting away to Canyon Lake. We had never stayed at a B&B, so this was a first and we had no idea what to expect. Darrin and Keith set the Bar high for any others we may stay at in the future. They made us feel at home from the beginning and oh my, the food was outstanding. The rooms are wonderful. Darrin and Keith are kind, inviting and helpful. The rooms are beautiful and clean. I don’t think we could have asked for better accommodations anywhere. It is peaceful and relaxing. I do believe Darrin and Keith are the jewel of this B&B though. Thank you both for the wonderful experience.
Came here to unplug, celebrate my birthday and enjoy nature. From coffee in the morning on our balcony, deer eating a few yards away from us, to all the amazing and relaxing features that make you feel youve just come home to the most peaceful place that ever existed. Clean and wonderful rooms. Darrin and Keith were the sweetest and made my sister and I very welcomed and loved. I cant wait to come back.
We have stayed at the equinox many times. It is our home away from home. The accommodation are fantastic as well as the hospitality. Close to many beautiful parts of the texas hill country. Also note you can enjoy breakfast with the many deer that roam the property.
My wife and I stayed here recently for our honeymoon/babymoon and it was an unforgettable experience! With it being our first time at a B&B, staying at Equinox Inn made the experience incredible! From the moment we walked through the the door and were greeted by Darrin and Keith we instantly felt like we were at our home away from home. The food was to die for and the rooms were so clean and relaxing and getting to feed the deer up close was a great experience. Having Darrin and Keith as our hosts was the cherry on top of our stay with their amazing ability to go above and beyond to make sure you feel at home. We will definitely be back and wouldnt imagine staying anywhere else in the hill country. thank yall for everything!!!
My husband and I got married at here on May 4, 2019. As we were celebrating our 1-year anniversary, looking back at our wedding pictures, we realized that we never left our review for this amazing place. We were only the second wedding that Darrin and Keith had, but it was nothing short of perfection. We rented out the entire B&B for 2 and a half days, and had a blast!!!Darrin and Keith let my husband and I come up and see the B&B before we got married so they could talk to us about decorations and our plans. The wedding package was totally worth it. Darrin acted as our day-of-coordinator, and she did so much for us including making our wedding arch, and throwing in an ice-cream sunday party for everyone! I always hear brides talk about how stressed they are or how something may go wrong, but I never stressed about anything. The wedding was absolutely gorgeous!When we go back to celebrate our anniversaries in the future, were definitely going to stay in the Captains Bay Suite, because wow, just wow! While all of the rooms were absolutely stunning, the view made it, but since we rented out the entire B&B, we had an amazing time using the hot tubs in the other rooms! Darrins home cooked breakfasts were to-die-for delicious!If you want to go somewhere relaxing with amazing hospitality, THIS is the place! If you have a special event coming up, THIS IS EVEN MORE THE PLACE! Keith and Darrin and the B&B itself are all top of line, we cant wait for our return trip!!!
This was a truly unique and enjoyable getaway for my girlfriend and I. The Inn is a beautiful place. We will be back for our honeymoon. The breakfast was truly a gourmet experience. We had a wonderful Frittata, fresh fruit and tasty blueberry waffles! The crispy bacon was truly a taste experience! The owners Darrin and Keith are warm, hospitable and charming. They made our stay a fantastically relaxing and rewarding experience! The Inn has a beautiful view of Canyon Lake....the grounds are serene and tranquil. I most highly recommend this awesome place!!!
Equinox Inn at Biscuit Hill was such a extra super place to visit. This bed and breakfast had a great couple, especially Darrin whom was one of the hosts that made this trip absolutely memorable. She(Darrin) went out of her way to meet our expectations 100’s more than what we asked for. The Massages were to die for,breakfast in the morning was amazing; made the way we like our food. Both my wife and I are keto friendly and watch our carbs intake and Darrin did great. Darrin did extras,like a bed full of petals in the shape of a heart and a vase of flowers, shrimp plate with chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of champagne. Darrin kept up with me for a week in advance communicating with me to set this up for my wife as a surprise. I had requests that Darrin made possible. She was great company and host. Anyone that wants a memory for life, go to this Bed in Breakfast in Canyon lake.
We had such a lovely stay here! Keith & Darrin were super accommodating and gave us so many great suggestions. We were able to feed the very friendly deer. Alice the deer even let us pet her! The breakfast was phenomenal, and an incredible value. We floated the Horseshoe, which was about 7 mins away and also swam in Canyon Lake which was about 11 mins away from the inn. It was in a perfect location! We were not sure at first, it seemed like too good to be true. But it was exactly as described and we loved our stay ❤️
My Husband and I wanted to get away for a few days. We both work hard and just wanted some time to ourselves, to enjoy each other and the fruits of our labor. We live in the city so we wanted a change of scenery, so we opted to look for something near the lake, something in the country. We wanted something not too far, and we wanted to enjoy the lake/river for some water activities like jet skis, a hike, the great outdoors, etc. I came upon Equinox Inn and let me tell you, Darrin and Keith were AMAZING! First of all, their home is simply Breathtaking. The place was so tranquil, so relaxing, so peaceful, and even though it was a B&B, it felt like Home. Darrin and Keith welcomed us with open arms. The room we stayed in was absolutely FANTASTIC! We opted for the room with a hot tub and let me tell you, that hot tub melted all my stress way! We were so at peace staying there.Every morning we enjoyed Darrins homemade delicious breakfast with a wonderful view of all the deers, the red cardinals, Pepper the cat, etc. It was wonderful. I also got to feed Alice, the best deer ever!!!! My husband and I are already planning our next trip. We are telling everybody we know about this Hidden Treasure.If you are in need of a quick getaway, a girls trip, a business trip, a romantic getaway, an anniversary gift, if you just want to enjoy the great outdoors, great food, great company, or just spend a few days away and enjoy some water activities, this is the place for you. Equinox Inn is absolutely Amazing but Darrin & Keith made the entire trip even better. They opened their homes to us and made us feel at home. Darrin is such a wonderful host. She is very passionate about making sure that her guests have a great time and enjoy themselves. We pray God continue to Bless Darrin & Keith. They are awesome people & with whats going on in the world right now, we can always use some awesome people Like Darrin & Keith. I cant wait to see them again and go back to Equinox Inn.
Last weekend, we spent two nights at the Equinox Inn at Biscuit Hill. We stayed in the Garden Room. It was a very nice relaxing romantic weekend. Comfortable, clean room. Lots of privacy. Hot tub was amazing. And breakfast was the best I think Ive ever had. Darrin and Keith made us feel like royalty. As a wife/mom I am usually the one serving other people. Darrin served an amazing three course breakfast (who knew you could have dessert for breakfast) and waited on us hand and foot. It was so relaxing! The property is beautiful...even got to watch the deer eat while we had our breakfast. I hope to go back soon!Jim and Katie
My wife and I spent our anniversary in a room on the back corner of the B&B with a hot tub! It was amazing. An experience straight out of the movies. Beautiful decorations, great food, and amazing hosts. It was a great experience! And, being a parent of 3, it was nice to have it adult only! Grown-up relaxation time!
This place is a gem. My daughter was married at the inn. With this being a outside wedding, Darrin did a fabulous job of decorating the arch, setting up the area for the wedding and the patio for the reception. This was the perfect place with all the gorgeous scenery. The rooms were very nice and comfortable and with each room has its own private deck to relax. The breakfast was unbelievably good with a nice variety and all homemade food which was out of this world. The hosts Darrin and Keith were the best hosts ever. They are very friendly and sociable and will work with you on special requests. If you need a place to stay this is the place to be. Would go back in a heartbeat.
The hosts are ultra accommodating. The place is peaceful, clean and just 10 minutes from incredible trails along the Guadalupe River. Loved my king size bed and large balcony. Built in spa experience was great too. I can say that it was a great experience and I returned home feelings SO much better!
We returned to Equinox Inn at Biscuit Hill for a well-deserved relaxing, romantic getaway. It was AWESOME!! Darrin & Keith are perfect hosts and innkeepers, and Darrin’s cooking.... AMAZING & DELISH!!!! The Inn is perfectly clean & sanitized. Each room, private and common areas are uniquely & beautifully decorated! The setting that Equinox Inn is situated in is quiet, wooded, filled with deer & birds, and has a great view of Canyon Lake from the rooms on the second floor. Equinox Inn is the PERFECT & BEST Inn in the Canyon Lake area!!!!💯💯💯💯💯
Equinox Inn at Biscuit Hill was the perfect 25th Anniversary getaway. We adored the setting, the wonderful owners, and the amazing food. My husband and I stayed in the Captain Suite. It offered an amazing view of the hill country and Canyon Lake area. We will definitely be returning!
We did the BabyMoon package and the Baby Bump photo shoot. My wife wrote a review for our stay which was excellent and we wanted to leave another review for the Baby Bump Photo shoot which was so much fun and resulted in some really get photos. Darrin is a great Photographer if you are looking to add photos to your trip!

Darrin and Keith go above and beyond to make your stay very special. The setup in each room is so unique and well thought out. Everything was also spotless. Customized breakfast every morning and just a very relaxing place to stay. The view from our balcony was beautiful. Darrin also offers massages which is amazing! Will definitely be coming back here when we are in Texas again.
Keith & Darrin are absolutely wonderful! The house was homey, clean, and charming. They gave great recommendations on activities to do and were able to meet dietary restrictions, which made the stay that much more enjoyable. We can’t wait to book another getaway here!

We had a great time at Equinox Inn, breakfast was delicious and our hosts were so sweet. The view at night is beautiful. We saw some deer too the first day there. I also left my purse behind (oops) and they sent it to me.
Completely relaxing and we felt right at home. From excellent breakfasts to a friendly cat to feeding some of the local deer herd its a great way to spend time in the hill country. Darrin and Keith really know how to make you comfortable.
We came here for our baby moon, and it was exactly what we needed! Keith and Darrin were great hosts, and breakfast was a delicious treat every morning. They were both so friendly and took care of us, ensuring we didn’t need anything. The house is beautiful, the views were great, and the surrounding towns were cute and accessible. We stayed in the captains room which was perfect because it was large, had a great deck, a large bathroom with tub, and a little nook where we could play games or eat a snack. Perfect for relaxing and reconnecting before baby comes!
The hosts, Darrin and Keith, are so much fun to visit with! Every attention is given to the rooms and the property, and lots of amenities including the delicious breakfast and snacks. We had a great visit and highly recommend this B&B.
We had a wonderful stay at The Equinox Inn. I booked it for our Babymoon as a surprise for my wife. The breakfast was excellent. The service was excellent. My wife said the massage was great. We did not have any complaints. I would highly recommend and would stay again.
Our stay at Equinox Inn at Biscuit Hill was exceeded expectations. Our room was immaculate; extremely comfortable and remarkably quiet. Each room has its own balcony, TV, bath, mini fridge, coffee maker and the usual hairdryer and iron. Hanging in the closet, were two luxurious robes, with quality not unlike youd find at a Ritz Carlton. Teamed with an extremely comfortable mattress, soft sheets and multiple pillows we slept soundly.Another rarity? A quality television and solid cable service with access to Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc. An excellent wifi signal also provided us with all the internet access we needed. Area cell service was more than adequate.Equinox Inn doesnt nickel & dime you with extras. Yes, for a small additional fee you can get special fruit baskets, wine baskets, even a professional massage. As we celebrated our anniversary, I chose a fruit, cheese & meat basket and it was large enough to provide snacks for two days. Speaking of snacks, theres a refrigerator on the back porch stocked with ice tea, bottled water, soft drinks and some adult beverages. Inside, theres a table with more munchies ... cookies, M&Ms, nuts and trail mix.Darrin goes out of her way to serve your breakfast just as you prefer. Egg whites? Happy to accommodate. Gluten Free? Sure. Low fat? How about Canadian Bacon instead of regular bacon (I know, sacrilegious for some). Lactose intolerant? Heres almond milk. Seriously, she couldnt have been more gracious.On the property, we enjoyed the herd (about 10) of deer that entered the yard each afternoon. The Hammons have a huge bin of deer corn for guests to scoop out and feed the animals. I spent about 30 minutes each day, sipping a glass of wine, munching on our fruit & cheese basket, watching them eat and roam the yard.The Inn is well located with easy access to the lake, Wimberley and San Marcos. Theres an excellent Italian restaurant in the area less than a 10-minute drive.Darrin & Keith clearly enjoy serving and enjoy meeting their guests. My wife and I came as guests and left as friends with the Hammons. I wish I could say we were special, but I saw the same genuine interaction with the other guests staying at the Inn.Book with confidence. Equinox Inn is a treasure, and we hope to return in the not-too-distant future.
Had the pleasure of staying at the Equinox Inn again last week. It was great to see Darrin and Keith again. Darrin made us a lovely breakfast and brought it to our room. Im looking forward to my next trip.What a fabulous place to stay in the Hill Country. Darren and Keith are gracious hosts and pride themselves on attention to detail. We had our leadership retreat at Equinox Inn this weekend. Keith & Darrin provided everything we needed. A very cozy, relaxing B&B. They were very attentive and the rooms were great. The home cooked breakfast bar, lunch & dinner were delicious. We absolutely loved our Captains Bay room. Perfect view of the garden, lake and hill country. Loved watching the deer from the patio. Perfect getaway without a long drive from San Antonio. Well definitely visit again.
Darrin was such a joy to speak with and very attentive. We felt at home and everything was made available to us from toothpaste that we forgot bring to recommendations to shops and restaurants around us. The only thing that would have made the environment perfect would be the plantings outside the home that could use more care but the recent snow storm could have been the cause of that. Thank you Darrin for your welcoming spirit and for taking care of every detail with our stay!
We were looking for a place last minute to stay in Canyon Lake for a little babymoon, & couldn’t seem to find anyone to accommodate us on such short notice. We called & spoke with Keith & he was so informative. Immediately upon arriving on the property we felt welcomed. It was so beautiful with all the outdoor string lights, the deer, Pepper the cat of course, just everything. Darrin gave us a tour of the inn & showed us to our room - the Captains Bay Suite. It was BEAUTIFUL and so romantic! What they didn’t tell me was later that night my boyfriend would be proposing to me on our own private balcony, under the stars & overlooking the lake. It was the most perfect setting. Darrin even provided me with a body pillow, which was so special as you just don’t find that treatment in a standard hotel. We had a breakfast buffet (homemade) in the morning with some of the other guests & it was DELICIOUS. You can absolutely tell that every move made in this B&B is handled with such love, care and thoughtfulness. We honestly didn’t want to leave. Keith is such good conversation & Darrin was the sweetest! We honestly would not choose anywhere else to stay and will absolutely be returning! We are even talking about having our wedding there. I’d give this place as many stars as we were under the night we stayed. Definitely check it out.
It had the charm of a B&B but offered us total privacy. We had a private entrance onto our porch with hot tub and off from that we had a deck for viewing the stars and wildlife. We enjoyed feeding the deer that came near our private deck and enjoyed our “guard” fox who sat near us until we went to bed. Darrin and Keith made us feel like family. Truly a must stay place!

My wedding was perfect, thanks to Darrin and Kieth! The whole place was absolutely magical. I felt like a princess. The beds are comfortable, the views are stunning and the breakfasts are absolutely amaaazing!! I can not wait to return for our 1 year anniversary!
First of all, our host, Darrin was amazing. She was there if we ever needed anything. She was very hospitable and loved talking to us and was even open to suggesting things to do, if we didnt have any plans. She made us feel as if her home was ours. The bedrooms were so amazing and cozy in their own way. My husband and I stayed in the Garden room and it was perfect and bright. The breakfasts in the morning hit the spot. Such good food. We had a jacuzzi on our deck and it was so relaxing while watching the stars or watching the sun rise. Darrins place was to die for and the view was amazing from our deck.
First time staying at an B&B and it was fantastic. Between the amazing breakfast, grab and go ice box and snack table we never wanted for anything. The garden room with hot tub didnt disappoint.
My husband and I spent a belated Valentines 3-day weekend here. He had never experienced staying at a BnB and now he never wants it any other way! Dean and Diane are fabulous - so helpful, informative and cheerful. There was every amenity and item you could want to be at home and I absolutely loved there was a recommended restaurants sheet they have compiled for their guests. We stayed in the Garden room. The ambiance was wonderful; it was cool enough to use the electric fireplace in the room and we partook in the hot tub on our patio every evening. We loved our patio - sitting out in the morning drinking coffee or just enjoying nature and the view. Breakfast was absolutely delicious! It was so wonderful to have non-traditional items and out of the box breakfast and you just wanted to eat more. Next time we visit we will definitely buy one of Dianes cook books!
Had a great mini vacay in celebration of our anniversary in Texas Hill Country. Just a short drive from Houston. The Inn was fantastic. Relaxing, quiet, fantastic food, and wonderful hosts. Rooms were spacious and clean. We stayed in the garden room. There is a private balcony for all guests and we had a Jacuzzi on ours! They are very accommodating and have everything you need. We look forward to returning soon.
Darrin and Keith were exceptionally warm and welcoming. We came into town during COVID-19 with no reservations but they welcomed us with, well, “no reservations” whatsoever. The rooms are very well kept. The breakfast should be featured on one of Wolfgang Puck’s shows (should he be ready to learn a thing or two), and all accommodations exceeded the protocol for travelers during this unprecedented time. At a time when many of us feel uneasy in our homes, The Eqinox Inn at Biscuit Hill made us feel completely comfortable, safe from the churning panic - stricken world outside our window. From the first greeting to the last “6-Feet apart” wave goodbye, Darrin and Keith made our trip unforgettable during a time most of us would like to forget. We will absolutely be back!
Heard about this awesome B&B from a great friend, and wow was she correct. Great place, had our own private hot tub on the balcony. Very relaxing the owners are gems, the breakfasts were outstanding. Clean and comfortable, we will be going back. Loved that I got to feed the deer too. Thanks Darrin and Keith it was a great weekend!
Me and my husband are fairly new to the bed and breakfast accommodation experience. However, I cant think of anything I would change about our stay at Biscuit Hill. We stayed in the Captains room, which checked everything off of my list that I wanted: room with a view, private back patio, bath tub, and an area to read, relax, sip coffee with a view of the outdoors. The owners, Dean and Diane, were absolutely fabulous. They were so warm and inviting that you feel like you have known them for years. The breakfast was one of the many highlights of stay, but definitely my favorite. The breakfast was outstanding! The presentation made it taste that much better if that was even possible. The location was perfect; outside of town but accessible to the many things to do in the area. Such a great vacation, we will definitely be returning!
Keith and Daren were amazing hosts. My husband and i went to get away from the city and celebrate our 1 yr anniversary. Keith and Daren were very welcoming and informative about their inn and surrounding areas. They surprised us with a platter of cheeses and fruit in our room and chocolates on our bed. The breakfast in the morning was absolutely delicious and there were plenty of places to eat on the property indoor and outdoors. We chose to eat our breakfast on the patio overlooking a family of deer that were 10 feet away from us enjoying the morning. It was a perfect weekend. Thank you so much Keith and Daren for making us feel very special. And for sharing your recipe for those delicious french croissants. Looking forward to coming back real soon.

My Husband And I stayed here for our wedding night. We stayed at the Captains Bay Suite, lovely room perfect for our night! With its own little dinning area and jacuzzi tub. Darrin the owner, such a lovely lady! took us to our room and showed us around the room. She was able to accommodate us for one night since the minimum is 2 nights. For breakfast she brought us 2 trays, first tray to start was yogurt parfaits and second tray was cinamon & pecan pancakes with eggs spinach mushroom frittata, everything was supper delicious!!! I truly recommend this lovely place! We are definitely coming back for a weekend escape!
My wife and I were away for an anniversary weekend get away. We were on a motorcycle and just needed a place to relax after being on the road that day. The room and amenities were fantastic. And breakfast in the morning was soooo good. We also liked the location. Just far enough away to keep it quite, but within minutes you could be at any of the local attractions. Darrin and Keith were amazing in hosting us for our 10th Anniversary! First class service with a fabulous breakfast in the morning. Darrin was able to accommodate our Gluten Free needs. We stayed in the Stargazer suite with a great view.
My husband and I stayed two nights for a quick anniversary getaway and some relaxation. Darrin and Keith were so welcoming it really felt like a home away from home. The Lone Star Suite was everything we could hope for, the room was immaculate and the robes were so comfy a nice added touch. On the private deck there is a private hot tub, sitting area and private entrance this was exactly what we were looking for. Throughout the house there are sitting areas with books and boardgames which is fun if you just want to stay in. We had breakfast in the smaller dining area as we were the only guests at the time and it was wonderful both days. Darrin puts so much attention to detail into the breakfast and her presentation is beautiful it just added more of a welcomeness feeling to our stay. Off the larger deck they have a sitting area to relax and feed the deer it was nice to sit outside and just enjoy the feeling of being away. With that, I will say there are places nearby we had dinner at Gennaros Trattoria its about 5-6 min away their italian food is amazing you can call and make a reservation. We also did a little shopping at Stahlmans at Bear Creek Grocery and Pecans they also have a menu of sandwiches for a lunch time meal. Our experience staying at Equinox Inn was wonderful, we will return and thank you to Darrin and Keith for making our stay so comfortable.
Fabulous little B&B up here at the lake. Every room is so unique, stylish and designed for relaxation, comfort and privacy, even with each rooms own private deck perfect for a serene morning cup of coffee or tea. The wildlife on the property is wonderful, and you can actually feel your blood pressure go down with the sound of soothing fountains and the tranquility of nature combined with a bit of pampering. The new owners, Keith and Darrin, are fabulous folks who understand real customer service. A definite must-stay spot for Canyon Lake!
Amazing stay on our overnight trip to the area. The host was very friendly and made you feel right at home. Hot tub on the balcony outside was a great plus. Breakfast the next morning was delicious as well coming in four courses and cant go wrong when you get some homemade chocolate cherry ice cream at the end! Would definitely recommend and hope to visit again.

This is our sixth or seventh stay here. It is quiet, clean, comfortable and Darrin snd Keith are willing to bend over backward to make sure you enjoy it. It is In a quiet area, but still very close to restaurants, movies, shopping, etc. We highly recommend this b&b inn to anyone who likes to relax away from home. I would give more stars, however, 5 is the highest offered. So, I will give it 5++.*****NEW INFO***** I just saw a review on here that this place is a one star and a total waste. We have now been here eight times and it is ALWAYS, ALWAYS great. We have stayed at probably 50 B&Bs (even in England where they originated) and this one is right up there with the very best. The owners make the place, and Darrin and Keith know how to make you feel very comfortable and relaxed. Very few things are taboo and if they are, they are outlined in the rules. We go to this place because they make it feel like we belong there. I have never heard an unkind word from either of them. It is a shame that someone would say things about this place and the owners that are simply not true. Try it for yourself! You will not be disappointed, guaranteed!
We just spent a relaxing few days in the Texas Mini Suite. It rained almost the whole time, but we were happy with books and games and the company of our gracious hosts. The deer were happy to frolic around for our enjoyment and the relaxing water fountains were an added plus to wind down. We were especially happy that Miss Darrin was able to accommodate our healthy eating habits for breakfast.

This was our first trip to Dean and Dianes b&b, and from the experience it wont be the last. Theyve provided a clean and relaxing atmosphere from top to bottom (bedrooms, kitchen), as well a beautiful acreage that guests are free to explore (with alpaca and deer to boot). They also provided a unique and delicious homemade breakfast dish each day. The rooms where quiet and relaxing, as well as provided a fantastic view of the Texas Hill Country. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a b&b to top a perfect weekend.
The process from reservation to check out was smooth and flawless.Darrin and Keith are great and the venue is beautiful. All of the accommodations are there and in excellent condition. Close to some nice eateries and the lake.Cant wait to go for the Holidays and try another room.

Amazing husband and wife staff. Very quiet peaceful place. My fiance and i stayed in the garden room. It was nothing short of perfect! We had a private hot tub. The breakfast cooked on site is all fresh made buffett style eating. I even had the desert offered after breakfast. Strawberry short cake. They were very helpful recommend an amazing romantic restraunt. The feeling of just a one night stay was amazing. We left so relaxed and felt like we were family with the owners. I highly recommend this bed and breakfast. Oh and the crosante French toast was amazing!!!!!!! Will defiantly go back and try other rooms they are all themed different
Great stay. Centralized enough for us to get to the lake and other activities. Breakfast was wonderful and filling every morning. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. They think of everything so what ever you need they probably have it. The owners are super friendly and helpful and great humans!! The sky at night was clear and beautiful. Deer come to visit every morning. It was just a wonderful peaceful stay. Cant wait to go back.
We stayed in the captains bay room and it was fantastic. The views from the back upstairs portch were breathtaking. We chose the baby moon package, and the gifts and fruit tray were above and beyond. We also got a couples massage, and it was the best Ive ever had! Mine was a prenatal massage and I went in skeptical, but came out totally relaxed! We also used the jetted tub every night to unwind and relax.The breakfast was hot and fresh every morning. Fresh fruit to French toast casserole and everything between was delicious! There was even dessert every morning to go with it! The homemade strawberry sorbet was to die for, as were the rosemary potatoes.There was never a moment we didnt feel welcome. We left feeling apart of the family! We would highly recommend staying here. Besides being absolutely amazing, the location is right in the middle of everything with still being secluded! We will definitely be back and cant wait!
This place is a beautiful property that has welcoming owners. Wonderful custom fit rooms and suites. We had our own private hot tub/patio which was so relaxing to be so secluded in nature. The breakfast was amazing and we even fed the deer that wander thru the patios.

Darrin and Keith are the ultimate hosts. There were so many little details that you dont even think about until its being offered and then when it is offered you are like How did I ever stay anywhere else before this? They are kind, detail oriented and AMAZING cooks. I cant compliment them enough, it was the perfect vacation.

This is our second time staying here and 1st bed and breakfast we ever stayed at. Very friendly hosts and breakfast is unbelievable. The place is really clean and the ladies will really like the decorations and themes of each room. The hosts live at a separate location and show up in the morning to prepare and serve breakfast. A lot of things happening around the area (winery, brewer, festivals, etc.) So plenty to do. Overall a great place to stay at.

We spent three nights there while celebrating our anniversary and loved it. Great house and location. Diane and Dean were great host and made us feel at home. We will definitely be keeping this place in mind the next time were looking for a place to stay out that way.
This is an absolutely gorgeous house with incredibly nice people running it. Darrin and Keith, the owners, are more than hospitable. They take care of everything and make sure you are comfortable. If you are looking for a very charming place to have a getaway this is perfect. The cypress cove room is awesome. An amazing bed, with Netflix and a Jacuzzi tub in your bathroom, couldnt ask for more. The rates are amazing for thus area. We stayed here for a concert at whitewater ampitheater and it was cheaper than the motels in New braunfels and much closer. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. CANT WAIT FOR MY NEXT STAY.

Location was great to watch the sunset across the lake. It was very serene and the perfect spot to disconnect from the world for a night. The food was great and Darrin and Keith could not have been nicer.

I am putting 4 stars because i really just slept there for the 2 nights i was there, I wasnt able to enjoy all the things that they offer. My nights there were wonderful. Everything was clean, easy to get in and out of. Woke up every morning to see deer out front grazing. It was a very peaceful wkend. I will def be coming back again !!!

This is the best B&B we have visited since we started doing an annual wedding anniversary trip many years ago. I can wholeheartedly recommend and endorse this establishment! While the price is competetive with other B&Bs in the Hill Country, the amenities and perks stand out.
This is such a nice B&B, the view was beautiful from our room, the food was exceptional and they innkeepers went over and above to make our stay memorable . We also had fun watching the deer as they came up on the property. We can not wait to visit again.
The 1 star review goes to the rooms only because I wanted to leave a 0 for the customer service/inn keepers. What a joke!! What kind of B&B makes you clean the place before you leave? By clean, I mean she did not return most of our deposit because we didnt clean the oven and her towels were dirty. First of all, let me tell you what kind of family we are; extremely good, hard-working, kind, giving, would never hurt a sole. It pains me to even write a bad review because I really am a forgiver and hate to upset people. Im one of those people who keeps their mouth shut and just does the job myself without a peep. We did not ruin towels!!! They are white towels, just throw them in the wash with some bleach and BAM new again!! As for the oven not being cleaned, let me just say that house was cleaner when we left then when we arrived. When we arrived the bottom of the trash can was obsolutly filthy, the trash had to be hauled up the hill to a trash can, which we did a dozen times that weekend. We all decided to clean up the night before and would just stop and get coffee and breakfast at McDonalds instead of messing up the kitchen and having to clean again. This was a getaway mini-vacation gift for my parents-in-law. They loved the hosts, the amenities, and the area. They had a wonderful time and kept raving about the place when they got back home
Honestly, one of the best experiences I have ever had! Beautiful home, great location and hosted by 2 wonderful people! My husband and I stayed for one night and it couldnt have been more perfect. I high suggest this place.
Stayed here recently and it was just lovely. The owners live on property and are very accommodating and knowledgeable of the area. They made our brief visit so comfortable, we would definitely stay here again!
We stopped by there today to check them out, the owners are wonderful people. Rooms are themed, clean and cozy definitely a place we are going to consider for a close to home get away. Outside areas are serene and peaceful!

The hospitality was amazing, the owners make sure you are taken care of, Darren is an amazing cook it was soo nice to wake up to home cooked three course breakfast I stayed 3 days and never felt bored, the lake is very close would definitely recommend and you cant go wrong staying hereclose and many things to do in area

This was the most precious , quaint place I have been to !!! Darrin and Keith were absolutely amazing and so sweet !!!!. We only stayed for one night , but when we walked in we were so welcomed ! they were very accommodating and we just had some great conversation !!! I would definitely recommend this sweet place and would love to visit again . !!! Not only did it feel so homey it just had an amazing view !! I could go on and on ! It was great thank you !
We spent our anniversary at equinox inn and had a wonderful time! We stayed in the lone star suite and had our own private hot tub outside with curtains that enclosed the patio. We also had a private entrance into our room from the outside and was given keys to keep with us. Keith had great recommendations on things to do in the area. The B&B is adults only so it was nice and quiet! Would def recommend!
We loved everything, the service, the breakfast, the cleanliness of the rooms and common areas. But above all the kindness of the owners of the place. We will be back soon.

2022-06-05Keith and Darrin were wonderful! We literally came as strangers, and left as family, only after the 3 short days of stay! The location was very special due to gorgeous views and the wildlife, such as deer visiting the back patio often. Darrins breakfast was very delicious and at the top level presentation-wise. Also, make sure to get an hour or two of Darrins relaxing massage - its a must! Darrin is one of the best therapists Ive experienced! Both Darrin and Keith are very welcoming, and we felt at home right away. They also suggested few of the best places to visit, depending on what we wanted to do. This was one of the best getaways ever!

2021-12-07My husband and I visited this B&B for our 3rd year anniversary on December 1st, without a doubt this place is wonderful!! It’s very relaxing, peaceful and romantic. I loved the Christmas decorations especially in our room, our tree was beautiful. The bed was comfortable. My husband enjoyed the jacuzzi tube a lot, he was in it every night and we were only there for 3 nights. The breakfast was always prefect and delicious, it was always a different menu. The owners, Darrin and Keith, are the best!! They are such a lovely couple. They make sure that the guest are very happy and satisfied with everything. My husband and I really enjoyed our conversations with them. Staying at the B&B is like being in a efficiency apartment but it’s one big house with different families in multiple rooms. I looked a long time to find a place for hubby and I to go and I’m glad I chose this B&B. I have personally never been to Hill Country, not a big fan of going up and down the roads especially at night not being from the area, that made me a little nervous because I’m more of a city girl but we will definitely be returning in the near future.

2022-03-29Our stay at the Equinox definitely exceeded our expectations. Darrin and Keith are so welcoming and were so accommodating, they have literally thought of everything. Attention to so many details, the grab and go fridge, the snacks available at any time, house slippers just for us, and not to mention the breakfast was phenomenal! Such a peaceful and relaxing stay, we will absolutely be returning guests!

2022-06-22My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Equinox Inn at Biscuit Hill. We stayed for one night to attend a concert at Whitewater Amphitheater. The owners are very kind and provided plenty of snacks and drinks. The outdoor patio is very relaxing and peaceful. Our bedroom was very comfortable and it was very lovely to drink a cup of coffee on our outdoor patio in the morning. The breakfast was very delicious. We would definitely stay again!

2022-04-28Cozy, quiet, great views, great massage. Everything you want in a mini honeymoon. Room was so nice (Captains Bay) with a jetted tub. Whole place was clean and comfortable.Darrin and Keith were super nice, made you feel at home. Great breakfast with the other guest or take it back to your room. Will definitely be returning and checking out other rooms!!

2021-12-20Excellent hosts, Darrin and Keith are extremely inviting an personable. The entire property is so peaceful. My wife and I have 4 children and find it difficult to try and get away, and when we do it is usually for only a short period of time. It was a blessing to find a bed and breakfast that DID NOT require a minimum 2 night stay. We stayed in the Garden room which included an outdoor hot tub, and the room was perfect. We have already recommended this place to others and will be returning. Thank you for being great hosts!

2022-05-02What a cute and cozy place to stay! Right when you walk in your are welcomed by Keith and Darrin who make it feel like you already know them. What a sweet couple. The homemade breakfast every morning was wonderful as well where you can sit out on the deck and have a nice view of the lake. I highly recommend for anyone going to Canyon Lake.

2022-02-07Part 1 of 1 (copied from another travel advisory site ;-)November 2021I had a 4-day visit planned, but I only got to spend on night and then got called back home for a business emergency, so I dont have as much to review this time. Once again, Darrin and Keith proved to be very gracious hosts. I have difficulty walking, and they met me when I came in and helped me with my bags. Later than night, as I came back from touring around the lake, Darrin came out and met me with a flashlight to make sure I made it in OK. Breakfast was great (as always). I have already put in my reservation for next year...November 2019I just reread my review from 11/2018 and I find my impressions this time were very similar to last time. Darrin and Keith continue to find things to upgrade. The Lone Star Suite bathroom has a new Old-Style Well Head type faucet that really blends with the rest of the decor and there were many other subtle tweaks. They added a new water feature (while tearing down the old fence enclosing the front yard) and as you walk out, there is a pleasant background burble that encourages you to pause and look around a bit. The food continues to be excellent, and Darrin continues to experiment and add to her menu. Also, her attention to detail and guest comfort remains at its usual high level. Unfortunately for me, I started getting sick on the way over, and by the first night, I was coughing heavily. A late night knock on my door brought Darrin, who had heard me coughing from the other side of the house, with OTC cough medicine to hold me over until I could get to the store the next day. She just goes out of her way to help. I have already made my 11/2020 reservations. A truly wonderful experience. Highly recommended.November 2018Please see my review of 11/25/2017 for the basic details of this B&B. For this review, I will just address new impressions.Keith and Darrin are working under the principle of “continuous improvement”. They are finding items to upgrade, thinking hard about the best way to upgrade and then proceeding. For instance, they added “punch-code” door locks to the exterior doors, so one less key for guests to carry. They are working on adding screens to doors and windows, so guests can allow the breeze in, but they are holding off until they can agree on hardware that will blend in well with the rest of the building. They are also replacing the exterior fencing in the front of the property, possibly with a hedge. Doing so would allow guests to sit on the front porch and watch the deer. They really care about making the best improvements possible, rather than rushing into changes that might prove disharmonious.One of the highlights of the trip was just sitting and talking with Darrin. We talked for over an hour when I got there, and then over breakfast both days. I was the only guest there, so she did plated breakfasts (when there are more than four people, they switch to buffet mode). The first day, there was a spinach-egg frittata and the usual (bacon, potatoes, fruit, waffles, juice). The second day, in addition to scrambled eggs and the usual, I got to “guinea-pig” a new dish she was trying out. It was good, but I had several suggestions for improvement, and that produced a lively level of discussion.Here’s an indicator of their attitude toward guests. I was the only one there, but Darrin set all the places at the table, just so I could sit wherever I was most comfortable. Yes, it’s a minor thing, but, as I said, it is another indicator of their service level.

2021-11-18The Equinox Inn is one of the best B&Bs I have ever stayed in! Darrin & Keith are so welcoming, friendly, and hospitable. I appreciated their attention to even the smallest details that made our stay relaxing and comfortable. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our weekend stay in the cozy & quiet Stargazer room which has the best view of Canyon Lake. We also enjoyed visits from their cat Pepper on our balcony. Breakfast was so delicious!!! We loved the creative dishes and the variety each morning. We cannot wait to stay here again!

2022-04-29We absolutely loved our stay at this little b and b. Our only disappointment was that we didnt find it sooner. The rooms were spacious very well kept the grounds are beautiful and maintained immaculately. We like the room so much that instead of going out to eat we just decided to order in and hang out on the porch and then move our two person party over to the hot tub. We will definitely return anytime we make another visit to Canyon Lake.
