We chose holiday inn because we usually get a quality night sleep but not this time. The heat did not work in the room and the room was cold the whole night. When I told the staff the following morning they said they were aware of the problem and they were sorry. I figured if they knew the heat didn’t work they wouldn’t let anybody stay there. We did not get our moneys worth. We would of been better off staying in a motel. Very disappointed
Bottom line, I should have stayed at the Holiday Inn Express and Suites across the Interstate.I could not possibly begin to capture what it would require for me to stay at this hotel again but for the sake of future customers, I will submit the following. Obtain and TRAIN a whole new staff. There is no semblance of professionalism at all within the staff. Most of the staff are very young if not teenagers that are more interested in their phones than with customers. CLEAN and STOCK the rooms properly. The floors, counters and bathroom were filthy. The elevator is dirty and in poor repair. The lobby was messy day and night and the sitting area for the bar or restaurant or whatever it was meant to be was a mess. All carpets in the hallways were stained and smelly. The ice machines didn’t work either. The luggage carts were old and in poor shape.I would suggest a complete remodel of the entire hotel or, remove it from the IHG chain.
No complaints about the stay. Got the quality that I expected form the Holiday Inn chain. Said the were under renovation, but I did not see any signs of this while I was there. The room I stayed in was very nice, but to me was showing its age a little. Dont think it had been updated yet, if it had, some of the workmanship was not very good.
Hubby and I stayed here for comfort and leisure and it is one of the best hotels down here in the valley! No noise coming from the highway nearby and there’s an H-E-B down the road for food and necessities! We mostly stayed inside of our room and the bed was super comfortable! We will definitely be coming back again!
Room size was okay but bathroom was a lot smaller than expected. Overall the hotel is pretty nice and clean. The pool however was green. Wanted to go for a swim but it was too dirty especially too dirty to take my 8m old baby. The front desk staff were kind of snobby.
Recently remodeled and it looks nice. Unfortunately the management is clueless.Had issue with AC and when I spoke to the desk clerk she told me I was wrong and their AC worked fine. I dont appreciate being called a liar. Finally they moved me to another room... with a bad thermostat and sheets with a hole in the middle. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.
The location was good and the property was recently renovated. The quality of the furnishings in my right Im were above par. My issue was at the staff required significant training. My room key was programmed three times and it still didnt work. Had to go to another room.
The most inefficient service I have received in a hotel of this chain, honestly, the receptionist does not inform, they do not change your towels, they do not do the cleaning, the laundry service does not work, you speak to the reception at night and they do not give you Good service, if you require something and you talk on the phone, your only argument is the Covid, the bath gel is over and until the next day they fill it up and I am unable to bathe, it is not careful to verify before one enters the room if everything is fine. The manager only knows how to say excuse me but it doesnt solve anything overnight and there is no one to provide support.
I have been loyal to IHG hotels for nearly 20 years, and this hotel does not provide the quality of their hotels. From checking in, staff doesn’t have their uniforms, they were having problems checking in guests, wasn’t provided a key holder with room number or WiFi password. After a long registration process, made it to the room, we had only 2 towels, tried calling reception and the phone wasn’t working. We forgot a toothbrush, which IHG hotels would always have some to give you, but they didn’t. We had to make several trips to front desk to get what we needed including toilet paper… next morning we left very early, came back after 11 pm and our room had not been cleaned, I asked at the front desk and was told that due to COVID the owner believed it was best to only have housekeeping once a week on Thursdays….not a good experience, this hotel does not provide the quality of the IHG hotels.
DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOtEL! There was no room service. The in-room phone does not work. No heat for three nights. Restaurant prices incredibly high and closed on holidays without notice, even though staff said it was open. Staff won’t provide general manager franchise owner contact info.
This a new hotel with alot of issues.Ive stayed there twice recently and had to change rooms each time because of problems with the room.My last stay I booked with points for two nights. When I got the bill it showed an accommodation fee of $30 per night.I asked the clerk what this fee was for and he said for using your points to book room.Say what? Ive never been charged this anywhere else. My recommendation is to not stay here till they get thier act together!Also no bar or restaurant open.
Worst experience. We stayed there for 4 nights and not even one day they cleaned out the room or made the beds. We left the room every day at 9:30am so they don’t have any excuse time wise. By the second day we told the manager 2 times that they have not made our beds and she told us that she could give us the sheets so we could changed them ourselves. By the fourth nigh we didn’t even care any more. We will never be back again
The hotel had a bad smell. The hallway carpet was all wet, we couldn’t use the shower due to dirt coming out of the tub, we requested another room, the receptionist told us she was going to take care of it but never did, we couldn’t even brush our teeth due to the sink being clogged up.
Very friendly customer service from the moment i walked in the building I was greeted with a smile they listen very well as I requested a room to meet my needs very nice and quiet rooms also the breakfast area was nice and clean and well taken care off I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay in that area
Went down for breakfast at 0613 and found someone sleeping on the couch in the lobby. No breakfast, no one at the front desk. Finally at 0635 the front desk clerk walked through the wide open front door. He couldn’t understand why the two guests waiting for him since 0600 were mad. Book a different hotel.
Sentimos que el personal no nos trató de igual manera ahora que reservamos con puntos IHG que cuando lo hacemos con dinero. Nos alojamos en dos habitaciones: 127 y 130. En la habitación 127 tuvimos varios problemas:1. No funcionó el wifi en la habitación y no hubo respuesta para solucionarlo.2. En la madrugada dejó de funcionar el W.C: no bajó agua para el retrete. Al solicitar ayuda, las personas del personal de apoyo no pudieron arreglar el servicio, por lo que nos dejaron cubeta para echar el agua.3. Nunca ofrecieron el cambio de habitación y, al sugerirlo, sólamente nos dieron dos ticket desayuno.4. Un despertador estaba programado a las 6:00 AM y tuvimos que desconectarlo, pero no recuperamos la calidad del sueño.5. Aunque el desayuno fue bueno, el personal del restaurante parecía confundido al explicar los paquetes de desayuno.
El hotel está bien ubicado, aunque tiene espacios pequeños está bien acondicionado y sus camas son cómodas con la calidad de la cadena, pero tal vez porque hubo apertura sin estar listo del todo, fallan algunas pequeñas cosas, como agua caliente, el agua de la tina se tapa y no fluye el agua, y la respuesta del personal solo es: espera a que se vaya el agua otra área de oportunidad es que no incluye el desayuno, debes pagar por ellos y en cualquier otro hotel siempre se incluye, de la misma cadena como de la competencia. La atención no fue muy buena, no se reconoció cómo socio ni se vio la atención de obsequiar una botella de agua o ser más cálido o amable como en otros hoteles
Como en otras ocasiones que he tenido la fortuna de estar en este hotel, tanto la atención del personal en general y particularmente por Erik Pelales (General Manager) son sobresalientes. La limpieza impecable y las medidas sanitarias - a propósito de la pandemia por COVID - son excelentes.Ojalá tuvieran un poco de más variedad de alimentos en los desayunos.Felicidades

2022-01-30I have a lot of experience staying in hotels of this caliber and let me tell you this hotel and staff are above the best. Greeting at the fro t desk are on point , sweet and professional. Rachel is the best, she goes above and beyond making sure our stay is perfect. Now like I said I have stayed in a lot places the breakfast is like home feeling. The pancakes are amazing and you can tell the cook put her love into making the food customizable for each customer. The cook even comes out to say good morning unlike other hotels. You never see them or the food is in a tray. I know we always have time to complain but we need to make time to say thank you. Rachel, Jeana and Nelda we thank you for the amazing awesome service you provide. We always look forward to visiting you each month.

2022-03-15I should have read the reviews before staying here, I didnt think I had to because I though I was staying at a nice Holiday Inn. I was wrong... The place does not look like a Holiday Inn AT ALL.My room didnt have block out curtains, so all night I had the lights from the expressway coming into my room AND in the morning the sun was right on my face !!!!I wanted a cup of coffee, was not asking for much, I was told If you want coffee, you need to pay for itThe shower didnt work properly either. Worst experience ever at a Holiday InnWill NEVER stay there and wont recommend this hotel AT ALL !!!!!

2022-07-20For The:Holiday Inn at612 West Expressway 83McAllen, TX, 78501This Hotel is very old and needs serious updating. The rooms are very depressing and dreary. Staff was great and very Friendly, doing the best they could. I would not recommend staying here at all. There are 2 Holiday Inns in the area and I chose the wrong one.

2021-12-10We checked in Saturday, 12/4/21, after 4PM. Rachel was working. Very pleasant!! Room had 2 issues right away, mildew smell and phone didnt work. Notified Rachel and place booked then, so couldnt move us. She gave us 2 breakfast passes! Yes! Then later in the evening, bathtub wouldnt drain. Notified Rachel and she was talking to manager and she managed to move us to different room on same floor! Great room! Ice maker wasnt working 2nd night on 1st floor, and Rachel once again came to the rescue and got ice from kitchen, so I wouldnt have to go to another floor!! Next morning needed more ice and young man at Front Desk, said go to 2nd or 3rd floor, I cant leave here. (I worked for IHG for 6 years and know better!) The kitchen was across the hall from Front Desk and in view for 2 minutes he could have helped. Alex the bartender on Saturday night was also awesome!! Ladies in the kitchen great food and helpful!!**Not able to adjust A/C-Heater well.

2021-10-20This was my third visit at this hotel and so far it has been great service every time. The rooms are very comfortable not to mention the bed and pillows. The last time I stayed there I checked in really late and I accidentally over slept to way over my check out time. The staff were very understanding and did not give me a hard time about it which was really awesome of them. Definitely will be staying more often.

2021-12-13Everything from the staff and management to the kitchen staff was amazing. Never felt like I wasn’t home. One person ( Lilly ) went out of her way any time I needed help or directions with any service that was offered. All staff was super friendly. Nelda in the kitchen went above and beyond for any food needs and was very warm and friendly.

2021-10-29It was nice and clean. HOWEVER, I have stayed at other Holiday Inns and I have never had to pay $11.00 for French toast! Nor $3.25 for a coffee!!! All other hotels have been complimentary breakfast. Not even complimentary shampoo and conditioners! They lock them up in the box in the shower and the conditioner bottle was empty!!! The pricing for breakfast was just so incredibly ridiculous. We ate elsewhere. Will definitely not be returning to this holiday Inn.

2022-03-02Horrible - did not realize there were 2 Holiday Inn Medical center. Booked the wrong one so canceled then booked the Holiday Inn Express across the freeway for the same night and still not able to get a refund even though owned by the same company they can clearly see I paid twice and only stayed at one room. The hotel wasn’t even booked up for that day so I do not understand why I can not get a refund.

2021-06-10So we called to make sure everything was good and ready before we booked since they were just opening. Of course they said yes everything is good to go and the pool is open etc. So we booked and went. When we checked in they said the pool wasnt available. Might seem like a small thing but after over a year of quarantine and a pandemic that was a highlight for us. We were upset. They made it right by upgrading us to a suite. Cool. We stayed for three nights. The first two nights the water was barely warm and the bathtub was leaking water all over the floor. When we did get to use the pool we walked down the hallway, which is carpeted and it was flooded and soaked wet from a leak coming from the ice machine. After the second night it smelled really bad due to the heavy and constant water leak. They did call and try to move us but we were leaving in the morning so that would have been more Hassel. The pool wasnt the cleanest and its an old pool but the water felt great and the weather was good so we enjoyed it. In the end they gave us a huge discount to make it all right and we appreciated it. They just have things to touch up still but they were working on it. We would stay there again if we were headed back down that way
