Pretty decent hotel. VERY clean; the staff are constantly cleaning! And most of the staff are quite exceptional. However, its not always the best place if you need a quiet nights sleep - Lots of noisy guests late at night/all night. And in my experience, the front desk staff do not want to touch noise complaints. But theres a pool, laundry, gym, plenty of parking and a very very carb-heavy free breakfast with coffee. The big convenience here is its location (next door to the McAllen Convention Center, Performing Arts Center and lots of shopping).
Decent hotel in good shape. Clean room. A little out of the way for walking to get anywhere. The rates change everyday, even in the middle of the week. Does not seem like the best value. If they would stabilize the price, I would give 4 stars.
Positive: The first trip 2 weeks ago was perfect, loved everything about the hotel. The room, atmosphere, breakfast and staff. Negative: The toliet did not work, it took the maintenance person 2 times before they would give us a new room. We had reserved a king and ended up with a queen. Also, the ice maker on the floor was not working.
Decent place. Rooms were smaller than Im accustomed to but overall not a bad place. Breakfast was pretty good too.
I Always stay at Home2suites, I was in Lubbock tx for 7 months, I come to McAllen and tried to get an early check-in since I drove all night, which I didnt get,I also requested a bottom floor,which I didnt get. Whats the point in being a Diamond member if I get treated like this ? This will be the last time I stay at Hilton. !!!!
The room was very spacious and comfortable, amenities were excellent, ample parking area, very nice pool and outdoor common area and the service was remarkable.
Extremely poor customer service. We were charged 75.00 for our Service Animal and when asked about the charge we were told “that’s just the way it is” we won’t be staying at Home2 Suites again.
I was surprised that the pantry staff(s) didn’t know the ingredients in the breakfast served. The breakfast was not clearly labeled. Many of the items were with meat added such as pork or beef. Hilton, as an international hotel, it was unbelievable that your breakfast choices are limited and are not catered for different religious beliefs and culture.
The room was good and front desk personnel were friendly, just hard to find at times.

I highly recommend this location of Home2 Suites by Hilton McAllen.The second you step inside this branch, you feel it’s the right place to stay in, smells wonderful, nice and CLEAN, staff members so welcoming, helpful, and friendly, every time I come here to RGV area, I stay here, easy to process my staying, no matter how I do my reservation, in person, online or over the phone, my room is clean as the rest of the rest of the entire property, walk-in shower with a very good brand of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion, there’s always hot water within seconds, large refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, big screen TVs. Beautiful view, nice outdoor swimming pool, you could do your own BBQ, close to the express way restaurants, and shopping centers. Free breakfast with multiple delicious choices , there is always coffee 24/7. Comfortable gym workout area.Outstanding team working so hard specially with the COVID19 situation.HUGE thanks to Yoli Garcia the Director of Sales, Yoli so professional and helpful, you see her helpful guests and checking guests in/out, help with cleaning, checking the kitchen area, pretty much all over the placeThanks for the GREAT service.

Booked a 2 bed room. The breakfast was not that good. It smelled like rotten eggs throughout the hotel Sunday morning. The refrigerator stopped cooling upon waking up. Found my fruit off temperature. Wont be booking here again. Over priced.
Very nice! CLEAN! Definitely will be going back to this one.Only reason not a five star. They had a lot of employees call in ( 10-9-2021 ) so our room wasnt ready and they gave us a full size bed instead of a queen. Room was beautiful.
Arrived at 7pm on evening of 1/16 and this young lady at the counter was very unpleasant. She apparently didn’t speak spanish, mind you at an area where it’s 80-90% spanish speaking customers. She then gave my wife and I the worst room 101, room was clean but since it was right next to the exit door we kept hearing the door slam close. To top it off in the morning @9am there was loud banging right next to our room. As we were leaving, we came to find they were fixing an exit door right next to our room. At 9am on this morning, whether it’s a weekend or not, when my wife and I were thinking of getting some much needed rest, this was the worst place to think of getting it. Very disappointed Hilton, train your employees better and leave the loud repair issues until after noon time.
I am posting this review very late because I’ve been traveling for work for the past several months, but this place deserves all the stars! The staff is so attentive, caring, friendly, and professional. The rooms are so clean and the grounds are very nice. They’re great to your pets too. My dog was treated with so much love! My year in McAllen was even more enjoyable because of my stay here. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone passing through or staying a long stretch.
Great hotel with no issues besides lack of choices I wanted for bfast. They had toast, muffins, cereal, waffles, bagels, cheese omelet and sausage links. Same bfast both days. Personal preference about bfast. I really enjoyed hotel and will stay there again in.
Very good breakfast options, super friendly and professional staff. Decent weight room. Room had everything one would need from a generous shampoo dispenser to real silverware. The small touches are appreciated.

The location is great and the overall hotel is pretty great. It was nice to have the extra space with the couch, rollout desk, and the kitchenette. They have electric eyes and can provide pots and pans, but you have to ask for them. Thank goodness I brought my own air fryer (which would be an idea for the hotel to invest in) and my own electric skillet.I do have a few beefs though which are as follows: The shower doors were misadjusted (room 230) and they would stay open to one side. I had to shove a face scrub bottle between the doors to keep them in place. The water never got that warm either. The pool was never open at the time they wrote down on the key card at check-in. The basketball rim on the goal was bent which made it undesirable to even want to play.All in all, small potatoes which is why it is still a 4 out of 5 and highly recommended. The staff was adequate, the location is good, and the room was clean.
Very clean and well maintained hotel.! Staff are very friendly and accommodating. The manager also approached us about our stay and any needs we may have. The hotel is pet friendly. There is a safe is each room which is one of the ammenities we look for in hotels. We will return to this hotel chain.
Enjoyed my stay here. Salvador at the front desk was very accommodating and went to great lengths to ensure everything was right with our room. Rooms are super clean and a/c was cold and comfortable. I’m glad to see that they keep up with the landscaping. It is nice staying at a place that doesn’t cut back on their employees even through COVID-19.
*Business Travel Review*I call this place home away from home. McAllen has sort of become my second home owing to weekly work travels here and Home2Suites has become my go to place.I love the homely feel in the welcome lounge as you walk in to the hotel which is its USP vs other cookie cutter business hotels.The staff works towards helping out the guests as best as they can and are very responsive. Kudos to everyone there :)Location - Amazing and functional location with access to a large number of restaurants, grocery stores, coffee shops, healthy eating locations. You can dive to them or walk your way in under 15 minutes.10 minutes away from the airport and 15 minutes away from the city center.
Dont even know where to start, so the pool, they open it whenever they wish to, every day it has a different sign showing different time it will open, there is no consistency. Gym is together with laundry, I had to call 3 times to get linens brought up, had me waiting 3 hours (I couldnt go anywhere because my dog is staying with us so I was waiting for them to bring it up) by the 3rd time I called receptionist said they had already left the stuff outside my door, and Im sitting here like so you make me wait 3 hours and dont even bother to knock to let me know the stuff had finally been left outside, wow just wow. My boyfriend goes to renew his room as he was told to do, he then gets told that everything is ok and it will renew automatically, hours later they call us letting us know we have to renew our keys at 12, Im sitting here thinking this is topped the worst Hilton hotel I have stayed in. Dont stay here unless its a come and go. I read other reviews and I am left wondering what changed lol, aside from the inconsistency the cleanliness is on point.
This by far, is one of the better places I stay at. It has beautiful rooms and spacious. Its also situated near restaurants, stores and my favorite golf course!

Updating to one star because I was charged a pet fee and I had NO pet. I did not see a single dog there the whole time and yet they charged me for a pet. This is just ridiculous. Stay far away from here

All that I can say about the hotel is nothing but disappointment. The service is not good at all. One of the gentlemen at the front desk was not friendly. The gentlemen would interrupt me during our conversation regarding our room. If someone wanting to stay here wants to wait 4 hours to get their room cleaned I suggest staying here. Lack of communication between management and staff. Room service takes forever to do there job. Something needs to be done with such a nice looking hotel. I will not be staying here ever again. If anyone and i mean anyone wanting bad service i suggest staying here, because that all theyll give you is bad service.
We have found our new favorite hotel chain. We could not have been happier with the entire hotel experience. We had basically a full kitchen, including dishwasher, minus an oven. There were also 4-5 stainless steel gas grills outside by the pool that we were able to use. The hotel was beyond clean and the staff was super friendly and eager to help! I will never stay at another hotel ever again! Thanks to you, I really did feel like it was my Home2!
Found my new favorite brand hotel. They never fail to impress us.The prices are acceptable, the buildings are clean, and the service is always amazing.Only thing is this location had a lot of unruly guests and kids being reckless in the basketball court. They left the gates open, hopped the fence, and were being very disruptive. We think they may have been local kids taking advantage of the basketball hoop here.
I dont know if its only Hilton or all hotels are doing this now but the last two I stayed at the showers actually have good water pressure. The breakfast was amazing they had tacos that were the size of burritos not some small little thing. My only complaint was the elevators kept closing too fast but I dont think they can control that I dont know. The room was great too.
Great place! Stayed for school golf tournament. The staff was great! So helpful and accommodating. They even started breakfast early. We will definitely return! Thank you for having us.
Great place to stay! One of my favorite Hilton chains. The room here was clean; the hotel decorations were up to date also, which was a nice change. My only complaint was the shower. The door had a tendency to slide open without me touching it. Mild annoyance, but definitely didnt detract from my overall experience here!
Typical hotel but stingy with bottled water for Diamond members. Ive travelled my entire career, and only stayed in 2 properties where they were not willing to comp bottled water for frequent guests. Wont be back. Lots of choices.
Very clean inside and out! Everyone on staff here is very polite and courteous, happy hour is a very welcomed addition after a long day and the friendly welcome you get here is a very nice touch. Plan on staying at this location till the completion of my work in McAllen over the next several months.
Everything here is brand new and very well thought, biggest screen Ive seen in a hotel, the kitchen is well equipped and although it lacks a stove, you can get an electric one with a skillet from the front desk for free. Great attention, clean and with great prices, cant think of any reason to stay anywhere else while in McAllen.
Very nice hotel! Seriously feels like home. The bed and sheets were so comfortable! The room was clean and I couldn’t have asked for a more pleasant stay. It’s also located in a central area close to restaurants.
The location is a bit awkward in means of getting there. the lobby is very clean. breakfast is more than enough to get you started. The rooms are great. Spacious, clean and alot of extras. The pool and basketball court also helps pass time. the gym is very good aswell. A great hotel in my book.
The hotel itself is very nice with the front desk having a great attitude, making me feel at home. Upon my arrival we went up to the room only to find it was not done and had to wait longer. Due to the lack of communication between the front desk and the staff it left left me upset at the fact we had to wait longer after we were told the room was done. All in all a great looking hotel, but needs work on communication and being on time.

Amazing the best hotel I have ever stayed in the people were all very friendly and polite. Even our housekeeper done an amazing job cleaning our room. I will stay here again thank you McAllen Texas for your hospitality.
2 day stay. 2 beds queen beds and sofa bed for $275. Super clean, staff was real friendly and were quick to bring us extra towels, pillows and blankets. They serve free breakfast and it has cereal, waffles, omeletes, boiled eggs, apple juice and 2 other flavors (did not pay attention) , milk, greek yogurt and fruit. And its free. The pool was clean and again hotel staff offered bigger blue towels for our convenience. Loved it so much will come back
Big and clean rooms, great location, staff isnt that good, they wont even try to accommodate you in any request even a modest one, also the day we were checking out the hot water boiler was busted, front desk didnt even took the time to let the guests know, we have to find by ourselves by calling them, we have to take a shower with freezing water! And we dont even have a $5.00 dlls gift card for a cup of coffee! Or even an apology
Nice room, good amount of space. They do have a bit of false advertising. They claim the rooms have a full kitchen, but they dont. They have everything you need except a way to actually cook your food. There is a VERY limited supply of cook tops and skillets. If you want a set, you have to request them during your reservation. If you dont, you wont get one period. Already checked in? Too late!

Ive had my fair shares of hotels as it is required to travel for work and personal. Prior to my visit I was not familiar with Home2 Suites. Quality rooms, clean and great for the stay. I felt very comfortable and I know next time I have to travel to the RGV I will definitely be staying here again.
Currently staying here and thus far I have received some of the best customer service in all my years of traveling. I had a dental issue and they took me and picked me up from the dentist. Just now a lady came to my door to find out if I needed extra coffee, sugar, towels, etc... At other hotels I have to chase someone down just to get something. She left me with chocolate. If they keep this up they wont be able to get rid of me!
Very nice hotel. Still very new. Part of the new development done on south ware road near the new Civic center. Everything you could think of is within minutes of driving. Would definitely stay here again.

I have stayed here before with family and this time I decided to share the experience with my husband (who is in the military) before he left to Korea. From the moment we walked in the receptionist (Ivy) was not welcoming. That same night the emergency alarm went on 4 times during the night (false alarm) and they said we would be compensated for the disturbance and but we heard nothing after the incident. I wanted to give Ivy the benefit of the doubt but it continued on to the following day. Day 2 we requested an extra blanket for my husband and she refused to provide another one. She stated the room had the blankets required for the room and she could not provide another one. This was upsetting because during my previous stay this was not an issue. But more upsetting because my husband needed his own so he didnt have to share with our kids during the night. (Blanets are thin) Its a minor issue but as a professional we should be able to provide our guest with the nessesities in order for them to have a pleasant stay. I will be taking our future stays to another hotel.
Home2 suites has become my go to for travel. So far all of the properties appear to be new and well taken care of. This one is no different. Excellent facilities and free breakfast. Rooms was spacious with everything I need to eat in or relax.

Nice rooms, very clean! Friendly check-in staff. The beds are comfy. The rooms are large and have a desk, kitchen area, and living room so it is great for business travel and like home away from home.
The best Hotel in McAllen....it was very clean and the staff was excellent. They were well trained and very friendly. Ill take off my hat for the Manager who trained these people at the front desk.
The one thing that I didnt like is that they have signs to wear a mask for our safety. And the guy checking in didnt have one on. So I decided not to stay. It just made me think they dont take covid seriously and maybe dont clean the rooms well.

This is a really nice hotel except for needing more laundry facilities. There is only 1 for the entire hotel. So far every time I went down to do laundry, someone else was using it.

It was a great stay except that the shower gel dispenser was empty. I don’t think much attention was given to the bathroom but I reported that at checkout! I always find the staff to be friendly and helpful!

What a great Home 2 this is, the rooms were like new and smell like new. It is 1 minute away from the Mcallen Convention Center & close to Palms Crossing shopping center as well. It was good for me to stay here since it is 7 mins away from the bars downtown since that was my reason for my stay in Mcallen, TX.The staff in the afternoon is not too welcoming nor attentive in what you would prefer from your stay, but still giving this 5 stars for the great location it is in.
Ive stayed here on several occasions, its always clean and quiet. The rooms are nice and comfortable and I always appreciate the larger refrigerator on my longer stays.

Terrible breakfast. Premade, ready to microwave sausage biscuits that tasted bad. O.j. tasted sour. Overall terrible breakfast and satellite t.v. that went in and out all night because of rain. Not a bad room, but very average.

Just like being home, except youre not. The staff seam to go out of their way to make sure youre happy with your stay.
Staff needs to walk the floor and the hallways to make sure there are no roaches. I saw a roach by the lobby another by the elevators and one in the hallway. These were not small roaches they were big 2 inch roaches.
Enjoy our time staying there, the only downside was they never gave me more coffee for my room we ask the front desk spend four nights with out coffee in our room other than that enjoy my stay there.

2022-04-24The rooms were spotless and very nice. Service was amazing, though one guy did kind of come in to drop something off Id requested without checking, caught my wife unawares. He didnt know I wasnt staying alone. But they provide pots and pans and a hot plate for free if you ask. Other than the outdoor pool needing a good cleaning, everything was fantastic.

2022-08-10I was greeted with a yes by the front desk person. The location is great and close to restaurants. Clean rooms, breakfast was also good. Loved the app, it function as a key to be able to open doors. Pools was Ok, needed some cleaning. Again, 2 stars for the service, front desk needs to learn some customer service and manners. Other than than it was great.

2022-08-18Home2suites McAllen, TX is the best hotel to stay in McAllen, TX. I stayed at Home2suites for a month and it felt like I had my own condo. The rooms are very clean, spacious and nice. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure your every need is met. They also have happy hour! The hotel is in a great location within walking distance of multiple restaurants and shopping centers. I would recommend booking here to anyone staying in the McAllen, TX area!

2022-05-27Home2suites McAllen is the best in the City! The employees are nothing short of professionals in their field. You are always greeted every time you come in or leave and feel welcomed! The hotel is CLEAN you can smell the clean in the lobby, the elevator the rooms even the gym and laundry room. The hotel takes pride in maintaining the grounds and upkeep! This is my favorite hotel to stay in when I come to McAllen! Highly recommend!

2022-06-17Had a wonderful stay at the Home2 Suites! Super close to the convention center, which was important. But also within walking distance of quite a few restaurants and stores. Great gym at the hotel! Clean room, great staff. Very warm and inviting.

2022-05-15Everything seems to be brand new. Cavernous well designed rooms, reasonable prices, 3 Tesla destination chargers which are signed with pylons, everything is fantastically clean, and the pillows and bedding were first rate. Unlike the competition the room actually allows you to set the temperature for real. Favorite place Ive stayed in a long time.

2022-03-07My stay was exceptional. The hotel was clean, staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast and happy hour was such a bonus. Great location.Miriam Aguilar was very helpful, knowledgeable and made my stay more pleasant.Ms. Aguilar is a major asset to Homewood 2 Suites. It’s definitely a five star Hotel.

2022-06-05This hotel is awesome, the room has EVERYTHING you need. From a kitchenette, silverware, dishes, micro, refrigerator… I mean everything! The only con is that we arrived at 2pm and the lady in front desk made us wait until 3:30pm for our room. There were other guests waiting in the lobby as well.

2022-03-08On the 3 occasions that I went to McAllen, I stayed at this hotel. The hotel is clean and with interesting amenities (pool, outdoor fireplace, safe surrounding area for walk/run and of course an indoor gym). You can expect the traditional Hilton top level service that is rarely compromised. The proximity to the airport too, is added advantage. I definitely will recommend it to any looking to be in the area.I gave a 4 star, due to breakfast, which has little to offer for a low carb vegetarian (I am asking for too much here, honestly, they deserve 5).

Negative: Surprised the pantry staffs didn¿t know the breakfast served and what is added to eggs and etc. The breakfast served was not labeled properly and be aware that they don¿t care about customers diet and religious beliefs.
