WORST HOTEL EVER !!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!. And for the record I very rarely leave a bad review, but people need the truth. We were quoted 281.00 for a weekly rate. Minus taxes and a five dollar a day fee for adding my son. Another hidden add on. We were charged 450.00 and some change. They allowed druggies who got out of prison the same day to loiter at the pool outside our room after telling us the pool area was closed. I had to call the police to come run them off. One of the men asked my son if he had any pot. We moved rooms to prevent retaliation from the two highly intoxicated/high men who seemed to be one of the employees friends that’s why they let them loiter. Both rooms had terrible beds. Our final day we awoke to no water with no warning whatsoever. The plastic like top sheet in the second room stank. I asked them to change them and they did not. SAVE YOURSELF the headache and DO NOT BOOK A ROOM at La Copa hotel. UNLESS YOU DON’T CARE about safety for your children, a clean room with running water, covers that actually get laundered, having a rude and incompetent staff and being billed way more than being quotedIf you enjoy that kind of establishment this is your hotel.
I would not recommend this hotel to stay in especially if your with family. The pool was disgusting and not clean..the room was not cleaned properly. It had not been swept food on the floor, roaches and also shoes from previous guest. The only good I have to review about this hotel is the location.
While very clean, the rooms are far from soundproof due to the lack of carpet from renovations. Bed was comfortable bathroom as good size. There are better deals for value but location was a necessity. Was okay.
If youre just an overnight stay its an affordable good stay with all the basics and a simple free breakfast with waffles. Swimming pool was nice but it can get loud and you can hear it in the rooms. Located in a very busy area with La Plaza Mall within walking distance and numerous other restaurants, fast food and other retail/commercial businesses nearby.

Bugs, cockroaches and bed bugs. At first glance the hotel doesnt look bad. I woke around 5am and found cockroaches in our room. We also found bug bites all over our legs. We packed up and left immediately. Its been 5 days and we still have large inflamed and itchy bumps. This is the first hotel I have ever stayed that had bugs. Needless to say, they did not provide a clean, sanitary room.
**SIMPLIFIED** 1. Way too expensive 2. Extremely outdated 3. Smells terrible 4. 90% of the people didnt wear facemask 5. Roaches 6. The doors will lock you out. PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE.
Staff is so very nice..but this is the third week I have stayed here and the water in shower is either too hot or no hot water at all. I dont mind a cool shower at the end of a long day but I definitely dont want a cold shower I the morning..very disappointed

Stayed here during Hurricane Harvey. I have a pet, this is a pet friendly hotel. Nice pool with continental breakfast with Belgium waffles. Room was clean and older room with walk in shower. Rooms includes microwave, refrigerator, iron, ironing board, hair dryer and free WiFi. Staff very nice. Located on 10 th street next to mall and lots of restaurants near by. Never needed to leave 10 th street. I will stay here everytime I come to McAllen. Very affordable.

My Experience at La Copa Hotel was the Best! This was our First time in McAllen for the Games of Texas & I was Blessed with the Price, Location, Service & Friendliness of the Staff. The pleasant place, the room with what is necessary, but the noise from outside and from neighboring rooms is heard a lot. I recommend that they be a little more careful with the cleanliness of the room, in general it evaluated it with 89% quality.
Pleasant surprise, I did not expect much from the hotel, but I found a very clean room, comfortable beds and a shower with very good pressure, a good hotel to just go to sleep and continue shopping, I did not have the opportunity to try the breakfast atso I cant rate it, it would be very fair for me to lower the price by about $15usd.
Well located, clean, familiar and quiet hotel. The rooms are good, the mattresses nice, the water pressure is excellent and the sheets are clean, they smell of chlorine, which is appreciated to know that they are constantly washed. I put 4 stars because the room smelled very musty when we entered and at dawn the smell was noticed again. I would stay at the hotel again if the room they are giving me does not have the musty smell. If I would not hesitate to stay because of my allergies. But in general all good.The staff in general is very friendly.
Hotel very well located next to the plaza mall and close to some restaurants but it already needs a lot of maintenance and the price of the rooms at least it is my stay was not cheap $115 dollars

Very old hotel and it is expensive, it is an option if you are looking for accommodation only one night in a place near the mall square (you arrive walking in less than a minute)Basic shampoo, soap, they dont have a bathtub, the towels are clean, oh and they only have one sheet on the beds, zero bedspread.Dirty old carpet. A renewal is urgent. Even when you book on portals that indicate that they include breakfast, the reality is that no, the pool is out of use (due to covid)
Bad attention from some people. They kept sending me my receipt and they never did. Send emails, messages and they do not answer. It is also very expensive and they do not offer breakfast or room cleaning service and I was touched by other guests who played loud music at night and did not say anything to them

The rooms are very good, the truth is a hotel to get to sleep and nothing else and in that it fulfills its function quite well. The rooms are clean and tidy and everything is in very good condition, and the hotel has a medium capacity pool. The breakfast they offer is not the best, it has very little variety and what this is not of the best quality. Attention at reception is also good. In general, the quality and price ratio is good.

Apart from its proximity to the mall (50 meters), the goodness and charisma of the treatment of its employees. We have been with them for more than 15 years and have always been excellent. Pleasant and comfort the room as well as the pool area. The breakfast scarce and little varied, but tasty. Good cakification.

Well, there was a day when there was no light in the bathroom and the TV, it became very expensive for me for the service they provide.

The hotel has an excellent location in the city of McAllen Texas. However, breakfast does not meet the minimum requirements, ie there is no egg for breakfast or fresh fruit. Mcallen is a shopping place, and the hotel is only used for resting and bathing. But its facilities are good, rich beds bathroom with hot water a very simple breakfast.

When it arrives to the hotel cup there are yoga stalls a space and a change house Both have breakfast the beds were bad (bedspreads, over beds) however they are not uncomfortable with the blanket the internet is very good of 20 MB / s of download and 5 MB / s upload and the sound father island inn has a lousy internet of 5mb / s when not all are connected the modem that is in resepsion has a large television

It is a comfortable hotel, the location is very good, very close to the shopping center, however the breakfast is not good.
The only thing that did not beat me, was that I am aware that we stained some towels but charge 15dls for each one I think is an exaggerated price.

2022-05-27La Copa was highly recommended by some friends that stayed here for an extended period of time last year. Really nice hotel overall. Rooms are updated and clean. The pool area is very nice. Great Wifi for those that like to work remotely.

2022-03-19Planned an overnight shopping spree to La Plaza mall and this hotel/motel is literally next door to Macys. Quiet and old-school, I appreciated their price and the convenience of walking to the mall. Nice trees. A pool that was not filled. Check-in was fairly smooth although the clerk made us wait for a ground floor room when it was clear the motel was hardly filled.

2022-06-11Be aware people! There are only 4 people allowed here we room. I asked to book a room and let them know it was my husband and I and our 4 small kids and they stated that there was only 4 peoples allowed per room with 2 beds. They stated I would have to rent an additional room.

2022-05-16TERRIBLE!!!!! Horrible customer service!!! DO NOT STAY HERE, I booked this hotel for my mother who is attending a funeral for my father and upon leaving the hotel she was charged an ADDITIONAL $60 for towels that cannot be replaced? (Very confused at this point) . I spoke with a younger woman named Carolina who said she was the General Manager, she had absolutely no explanation for what happened, only that she had spoken with the “head housekeeper” about the towels. there were NO photos of “said towels” that they claimed were destroyed and I had to ask her 5 seperate times before sending an itemised receipt to my email. This is absolutely the worst customer service I have received in my life, Not only was Carolina extremely rude and very unsympathetic towards our situation she could not provide any explanation for how these towels were “destroyed” during the stay or could not provide any photo evidence or pictures of the addition $60 damage fees to the towels. All she said was “If I have them, I will send them” I can guarantee you I will have my husband reach out to American Express to dispute these additional charges and that we will never stay or mention this hotel to anybody! They are obviously looking for an easy unethical way to increase revenue and when I mentioned staying in a cheaper hotel to save money she got very defensive saying this is NOT a cheap motel, you could’ve stayed at Motel 6. The only reason I gave this place 1 star was because I had too but from my experience here I have never felt so unsatisfied and even more unwelcome.

2022-04-23Horrible the room was facing macys at la plaza mall, the room smelled, was very outdated and the door was not working properly so we had bugs and mosquitoes flying in. So i go to attempt to talk to a manager and they said you cant get a refund but we can switch you rooms i said no I want a refund. She said Im sorry the manager wont be in till Monday. I wouldnt recommend this place at all theses reviews are very misleading and this hotel is like a room you would rent by the hour.
