Enjoyed the breakfast here and staff were super friendly. The room was clean and fresh, will be back. A good place to spend a week if working this area, close to HEB.
I have nothing but great things to say about the staff. Very attentive and willing to make my stay as great as possible! My room was very spacious and comfortable. Overall a great place for my extended stay.
If you like non guests taking over the pool and bbq area and leaving a huge mess every weekend, then this is the place for you. I’m not talking a couple intruders, we’re talking multiple families where there was literally no room for the actual paying guests to use. They’d literally bring shopping bags full of utensils, groceries and pool toys along with loud music to camp out there for the entire day…not just an hour or two. I stayed there a month for work and can verify that it happens every single weekend. Plus a hotel worker gives them one keycard so they can share it to come inside to use the bathrooms and whatever free lobby drinks and snacks offers. Totally unacceptable.
Only one washing machine seemed to work and people who stayed longer and knew warned me. My clothes went through but the detergent never made it to the washing machine so I basically rinsed my clothes. I didn’t have time to wait for the only “working machine” . Also, I stayed 2 weeks and my room never received a full cleaning. Only trash/towels/bed made. I could tell the sink was never wiped down or the rug vacuumed in those 2 weeks. I requested the service on the weekend and let the desk know the room was vacant for it. Also one day I returned to my room after working all day to find the door unsecured. I am not sure how long it had been open. I didn’t have anything taken, thank goodness. The staff are very pleasant and the overall cleanliness was good.
This hotel has time and again exceeded hotels in similar price range I frequent in my travels globally.The staff would be my staff if I owned a hotel, completely available and knowledgeable.The fact that this is the only brand I have experienced that makes a gas grill available for the guest is one reason I will continue to use this brand as long as possible.Make a hotel feel like home go out back a grill your steaks, excellent.
Typical chain hotel. I would rate the quality on par with a dorm room. And most of the building smells the same. My room smelled like dog food for most of my stay. It smelled that way when I arrived. The kitchen is adequate. The supplies for cooking they provide are not. I dont know if they ever vacuum the floors? I was on an extended stay and had continuous issues with the AC. The staff would fix it after a horrible nights sleep, and it would go out again a week later. Almost every day, I had to ask housekeeping to come back later as I worked evenings and was around during the morning. They never did seem to figure this out. There are not nearly enough washers and dryers in the building. And for some reason, there are more washers than dryers. I asked the staff if they had better internet that I could pay for. They told me they did not. After about an hour on the phone with customer service and the corporate offices, the local manager (Hes a nice guy), directed me to some tech company that was able to upgrade my internet so that it actually worked. Im not sure why they dont just provide adequate internet to begin with. The pool area is nice.
This hotel was great. A clean atmosphere and friendly staff. The kitchenette is great for longer stays and the outdoor dual grills are great. There are plenty of grilling utensils available for use. I would recommend staying here if in the McAllen area.
The staff at the Staybridge are personable, professional and friendly. This is a great place to stay. The manager Julio and his assistant managers and desk clerks are great people. This is one of the best hotel that I have ever stayed at.
The stay bridge Is a nice place to stay. Just make sure you bring some flip-flops because even though the housekeeping services are excellent the company doesn’t want to buy a new carpet and the bottom of your feet will be black without the use of flip-flops. The rooms are overall run down but they give The opportunity to relive your college dorm experience .
The room was nice and clean but a funny smell was coming from the bathroom like sewage. I called the front desk to complain and Smiley was empathetic and as helpful as he could be. Be brought me an air freshener. I kept complaining about the smell. The smell was only masked by the air freshener. No other rooms were available. We literally slept with the windows open and it was cold. The manager spoke to my husband and told us to go to the hotel across the street stating they have rooms available. Enrique didnt offer a refund or a simple empathetic word. We still havent gotten refunded for the second night since Enrique demanded we leave
Fantastic staff, the whole hotel experience was elevated to 5 stars, just because of the staff. Front desk, restaurant, cleaning cree and even maintenance!!
The breakfast is good. A couple breakfast burritos every other day. Eggs and breakfast meat the opposite days. Theres fruit and pancakes and whatnot also. Ive never had time for them. Rooms are cleaned regularly. Wifi is great, able to stream video meetings with no issues.
Great location, great room amenities and a comfortable sleep. Staff was very attentive at all times. Hot breakfast was decent, it fills you up. Great experience overall with nearby restaurants and malls.
We were three adults traveling together for the first time. Found the spaciousness of the Room a great benefit as we were trying to get dressed to go out to a Concert.
My stay with Staybridge suites in McAllen TX was a pleasant one. The hotel is minutes from the airport. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was pretty good size and clean. The bed was literally the best hotel bed I have ever slept on. Overall great experience
Arrived, staff was very nice. Went to room, sofa bed had no extra sheets in room but I called front desk and young man was very nice. Brought me sheets and 2 pillows for sofa bed. Breakfast has been modified to due to COVID however the tacos served were not good and no coffee was available. Understand due to current situation but do hope they offer coffee next time. Much needed. Pool area was okay, they had bags with linens outside in a bag. Not sure why probably due to COVID. Overall, great place, very clean, nice staff and we got a good night rest. Recommend.
During our familys 3 night stay we encountered several issues which I will list below:*Toilet was running*Bathtub was clogged *TV Remotes had no batteries *During our entire stay there was NO Housekeeping- nowhere to even take the trash out yourself. Employees just kept saying to put the trash out in the hallway and someone would get it. Several room had piles of trash outside of their doors ( our trash Sat out there for most of the day)*Pool area was very busy and the pool was never cleaned or shocked. There were bugs floating in the greenish water.*Breakfast was a disaster so many guest and only one single employee (bless her heart! She was the nicest and tried her best) but all those guest could not possibly be serve and accomodated while only one employee attempted to do it all.
Nothing, it was dirty. Service was bad. You could hear people next door talking like inside your room, you could hear people taking upstairs, outside in the hall way. The ac was super old, the kitchen appliances were like from 30 years ago. They didn’t even have soup spoons, I got into the room and the plates and silverware was inside the dishwasher. They don’t clean your room everyday. I had a HOMELESS person sleeping one night by my room door, I called the front desk and they said they were “sorry” I didn’t even got an special consideration or any extra apologies. How can a drunk homeless man sleeps exactly in from of your room in a hotel? I am going to write this down in Google. This place is A MESS. Never again!

Not bad.. not bad at all, We were happy to hear that this was a pet friendly place. Having been to several different places and especially in the valley, they kept this clean. Beds are clean, restroom is spotless, and the upgrade is excellent. Can’t wait to try the breakfast!
Horrible!! The dishwasher was with all duty utensils inside, and it wasn’t working. I used them because I was told that everything was clean an ready to use. I’d complain with the general manager and I was moved to another room. In the moved (late at night) left my pajamas and when I asked for it, it disappeared like magic. The manager response was very unhelpful, he said to me that the room was already in use and that maybe, it was heating under the furniture. I’d laugh, and asked if they cleaned out the room after I’d moved. He said they did but no! Because if they did, my pajamas would be there. Not a good place to stay, specially with the pandemic.
I like my room and the staff has been nice. Being able to cook my own meals and free laundry is what Im really here for. The hot tub was my favorite part. I never got to have the breakfast since I start work to early. Plus, I travel on the weekends so I missed the socials on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.The second floor hallway smelled gross the entire time I was there. I didnt complain to anyone so Im not even sure staff knows. Also the key card and/or readers took way more effort than normal. I am not sure whats up with that but I was swiping 5-10 times at every door and replaced my card twice.
Like many IHG properties these days, this hotel is old and in need of major overhaul. The couch cushion had a large hole at a seam, the carpet was fraying and wrinkled, and the bathtub was stained. All of the wood furniture was scratched and chipped. Cooking pots and utensils are really low quality. I appreciate that the room was clean and the staff was friendly, but expect better from Staybridge.
I chose this hotel because Staybridge in general was recommended by my employer, but I dont think I would stay here at this location again. It was nearly twice as much as a newer hotel 10 minutes away, and I feel like other hotels are a better value. Its outdated, for sure. Nothing special except having a kitchen in your room. It doesnt feel all that different than an older Holiday Inn. The toiletries are average. Breakfast, in my opinion, was average. I liked the kitchen option, but, after staying here, I dont think its an amenity that made a positive difference on my business trip.
We stayed at this hotel during a week long trip to McAllen. The hotel employees were all welcoming and made sure we were satisfied throughout the week. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was fresh and offered many options. In addition a social hour was hosted 3 nights per week featuring food, soft drinks, wine and beer. We would stay at this hotel again.
I liked this hotel very much, especially the full kitchen in the room. It was like a little studio apartment, with everything I needed for a week-long stay. The staff was very helpful and courteous. Breakfast and social hour in the evenings were really good. I was not too happy about the cleaning schedule, which they call Light Touch, but when I expressed this concern the manager himself called me to assure me they would be happy to accommodate me in a future stay if I wanted the room cleaned more often. So its staying on my list of hotels to visit again.
Worst experience ever! The suite wasn’t given to us till an hour later than our checking time. One of the rooms had blood stains on the door frame and mucus on the walls. The sofa bed didn’t have any sheets nor were left in the suite to put. The sofa bed was filled with Cheetos and popcorn from previous stays. Called several times to reception and noOne picked up. Went up to reception and no one was there to assist. Overall terrible experience and not worth the amount that was charged.
I have had a great experience at this hotel. The rooms are nice and clean. The food choices for breakfast and evening social are delicious. I will definitely return to this hotel.
This is the epitome of what a hotel should be. From the check-in to the checkout we were treated as honored guests by every member of the staff. The room was comfortable and spacious (although having a recliner would have been a great asset). The housekeeping staff were great and several took time to play with out dog each morning. The breakfast and evening meals were tasty and had good variety. The free laundry was wonderful and a much needed amenity for an extended stay. Thank you, Julio and staff.
Ive stayed at Staybridge McAllen several times and always enjoy my stay. Staff are friendly and helpful, and its got to be one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in. The rooms are kept cool by air conditioning and the pool outside is a welcome addition for anyone wanting to cool down. The hotel also invites guests to socialize during a happy hour on most afternoons. Though I havent participated, this is the first time I have seen something similar at a hotel and I appreciate their efforts to engage their guests.Breakfast buffet is above-average with a nice selection of eggs, toast and pastries, fruit, yogurt, even cheese. I always enjoy staying here!
Positive: breakfast had a variety and was good, with exception of the coffee, tasted old. Negative: didnt have a blow dryer in room and the hallways smelled
As a platinum member, I was excited to learn about my free upgrade. Generally, the room was good and the bed was excellently comfortable, however, the bedroom carpet and vanity tile were dirty with black specks or seeds that clinged to our feet on the day of check-in. We noted the problem to staff on the morning of our second day. By the time we arrived at night the same day, the floors were not cleaned. We called the front desk and they explained that there is no housekeeping on the weekends (which is odd during a pandemic). We voiced our problem again on the day of checkout which one representative said I would get amenity points for the trouble. I am not sure if Ive received those points yet.
Staff is incredible and very helpful. Very quiet and peaceful atmosphere. In fact due to the fact that every room was booked they even added two more washing machines in order to accommodate everyone’s needs.
I recently stayed in this property for nearly four months and could not have been any more pleased. The hotel is well-run, hotel manager Carlos has a great staff that is pleasant, helpful, courteous, and which to a person obviously enjoys working at this hotel. Sonia serves as a fantastic ambassador, Julio and Enrique are great, and Chris always makes you feel at home at the evening social.The rooms are very clean and housekeeping was always willing to accommodate any special requests. The quality of food at breakfast was very good and in ample quantities. The evening socials went a step beyond and were truly excellent -- the only downside is that they are only three nights a week.The property is well-maintained and aesthetically pleasing with the landscaping and special care given to the grounds. The pool is very nice and a great place to relax at the end of the day. Laundry facilities were adequate and the gym was very well set up with a wide screen tv, treadmills, a bike, bench, and free weights.I cannot say enough good things about this Staybridge. The employees were unfailingly pleasant and obviously proud of their workplace. I wish all of my out of town trips were to McAllen so I could stay at this property more often.
After arriving late we were looking forward for a good sleep but at 7:00 am maintenance crew staring making a lots of noise right next to our wall and the level of noise was so high that we cant sleep at all after that. called the front desk and did nothing to stop it. they said that the noises were not from theyre staff but I spoke with a maintenance crew member and confirm that it was them working on an AC unit.
The bed is good, couch is awful and I dont believe you can get a smaller tv. Rooms are pretty quiet. 2 if the 3 washing machines were down during my visit. I hear they have fixed this.
All Staff was very helpful and polite. Pool was very clean. One of the great things was free laundry, Because my job I travel a lot and do a lot of laundry so this was very helpful.
Although I do not stay at hotels/motels often, I have had some experience over the years. It has been varied. Previous to staying at the Staybridge Suites my experience with higher end hotels has been disappointing. Most of the price seemed to cover ambiance and PR. Actual service was hit and miss and often patronizing. The Staybridge experience was a refreshing change from that. From the moment my wife and I were picked up at the airport by the shuttle van till we were dropped off there 6 days later, we experienced unfailingly attentive and polite service. Every aspect of the hotel itself was clean, well appointed, and well maintained. Though pleasant in design, the building did not have showy ornamentation. Whatever promotion there was for the hotel was backed with substance. I have stated this previously but feel it worthwhile to repeat. Hotel personnel were friendly, respectful, and efficient. They did their job without fawning or any unctuous behavior. I worked in service for 40 years and attest to the importance of both personnel and customers maintaining dignity and respect.
Staybridge Suites have a certain expectation level, of cleanliness, function and appearance. This facility is in need of attention. Lamps missing light bulbs. Run down looking building. Rooms-smaller than expected. Additionally, with all the restrictions, many of the amenities/services that someone expects when staying at a Staybridge was greatly disappointing, especially when the location was contacted at the time of booking, and I was informed that everything was running as normal with a few reductions. Not impressed.
I stayed for two nights and they were peaceful. I highly recommend this hotel. I enjoy having a kitchen where I can cook if I wanted or just make snacks. My entire stay was great and staff were friendly. My tv remote didn’t have batteries but the front desk was able to get them to me with no problem.
Customer service was the best I have ever received at any hotel. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left staff was friendly and courteous. The room was super clean and the housekeeping service was excellent (Lupita). Breakfast was fresh and super yummy and The Socials in the evening were a very nice touch. I wish the manager would have been on site when we left so I could have told him what a great job everyone was doing, including himself for having such a great staff. I will be staying at this hotel for all my future visits to the Rio Grande Valley.
This business stay was excellent because each night meant a good nights sleep! Comfortable beds, great pillows and good food for breakfast and social hour. There was an area set up to work on the computer with good TV entertainment if I was not working. The hotel offered a shuttle service if I was going out for delivery and pick up. Very good.
They did work hard for our business.Then it went downhill from there. Within the first week I was out of shampoo and soap. With repeated request it took over two week to get replacement. Then, they were just set on the edge of the tub, there they set through the day I checked out.Since I worked seven days a week split shifts, I asked for my room to be cleaned before noon when serviced. I spoke with the front desk and housekeeping. Not one time did that happen.There was a red solo cup floating in the pool for over a week. The pool gate was locked more then it was open.The shower had little pressure. It didnt make any difference if the shower head was pounding out to the middle of the tub or straight down, the water hit the same spot in the floor.The bed killed my neck and back. After questioning the bed nothing was offered.We had our rooms reserved until the middle of November. On October 14th my self and my coworker were told we had to check out or pay a much higher room rate. Later I find out they kicked us out and broke our contract because they had government contact coming in that paid more.
My room was great and they located me exactly where I wanted to be. I have stayed here for the past four years. It gets better every year. Its always clean and the staff is awesome. Always ready to help in any way. I really enjoy the Mon - Wed social. Its nice to stay in for dinner and they always have healthy choices.
Verry friendly staff. Hotel is near airport in good location, the rooms are big with kitchen and very comfortable beds.There were not many washers and dryers for the numbers of hosting guest. The price is fair. Breakfact is always the same
We loved this place. The staff were super nice to us and super accommodating. They even gave us a crib for the baby. We loved the food, it was tasteful and had a great variety. The rooms were super clean and organized. The overall decor of the hotel was very comfy and welcoming. We will definitely be coming back to this hotel when we go to McAllen.
This hotel is away from the busy traffic of this city. It is clean and the morning breakfast choices are wonderful and tasty!! We choose to stay on the top floor for quietness. I must warn you, the housekeeping staff does not speak/understand English! The full size coffee maker in the room was nice! I recommend this place.
A month ago I provided an unfavorable review due to poor service and the room air conditioner not functioning properly. Ive stayed twice more, and both time have had no issues with the service or the temperature of the room. The manager, Julio, welcomed me and personally apologized for the first impression. The hotel offers good value for the price. It has a homey atmosphere which I appreciate since I travel about 40 weeks of the year. I appreciate being able to make my own meals if desired and having an apartment like suite.
I stayed here the nights leading up to hurricane Harvey. The room was comfortable with a mini kitchen and decent size sitting area. The staff was amazing. I had a small problem with my air conditioner the first night that was fixed immediately. The rest of the time they were welcoming people trying to escape the storm. They kept the news on at the front desk and were very helpful and concerned about tbeir gueats well being. I would definately stay again.
Staff was very kind, the rooms are nice and the breakfast had a wide variety of items to choose from. Was very happy with this stay.
We had a king suite, and we very much enjoyed our stay. The room was just the right size for two or maybe two adults and a child. We were very pleased with the breakfast bar area in the kitchenette. It was a clever use of space. The staff was very nice and knowledgeable about the area. They recommended a great restaurant just down the street. The hotel is right across from the McAllen Country Club, and we felt that it was far enough from the freeway to be free of most of the really bad traffic noise. I felt safe walking the dog around the hotel, and the parking lots were well lit as well as the road.
As a regular visitor(but not that much), I am surprised by the tenure of the staff and that they almost always recognize me when I arrive. If there is a problem, it is taken care of immediately. Good size laundry and functional fitness room. Nice pool as well. Great for a family over a weekend. Breakfast is a little European with cold meat as well as fruit and yogurt as well as “Texas” waffles with a rotation of eggs, bacon, sausage and the like. About a half a mile to the airport. Always a courtesy shuttle. Even when I returned my rental car late Friday night, they came and picked me up.. always willing to go the extra mile.
This was by far the best hotel I have stayed at. They have a great hot breakfast or a breakfast on the go can be provided. Monday to Wednesday night wine, beer and supper are served. The staff here is outstanding! They were always making sure we had a comfortable and restful stay. A very a accommodating and safe location for frequent business travelers.
The kitchen sink had mold around it. The stove was dirty, seems cleaningcrew missed it. I cleaned it after using it myself. Everything else was excellent.
Overall this is not a 3 stars hotel. Room needs a little upgrade, furniture needs replace. Common area cleaning crew needs a new mopping solutions that does not smell like fish. Common area needs to keep lights on so guest can use area when ever they need to. Coffee needs to keep warm if you going to put it out for guest to use 24/7...
Overall, i was able to sleep. The hotel needs improvement, cleaner rooms , new furniture and bathroom.
My wife and I had stayed at this location numerous times. The last time we stayed was approximately two years ago and as is the case with all IHG properties we were quite satisfied. This visit however that’ is not the case. First the good: the location is great and is located in a nice quite area. Now, the bad: the entrance to the hotel was filthy with a very foul smell emitting from the foyer. Checkin was horrible as well. The clerk barely bothered to even speak to me while shoving the Checkin sheet at me. This was witnessed by another person who was at the front desk. He looked at me with surprise and dismay in his expression. I asked for an upgrade but was quickly denied. The room was absolutely filth and in dire need of disinfecting and a deep cleaning although a complete gutting would have probably been cheaper to accomplish. I provided the desk clerk with pictures of the cobwebs on the walls, ripped drapes, soiled sofa, missing bed side lap, hair in the tub, un-flushed toilet and general overall state of the room. He offered me 5000 points for our displeasure. The stench of the sewer and dripping water problem made it almost impossible to stay the night. I left the window open which helped some. My wife’s family only had enough room to accommodate her so I was stuck with the room. I tried to rough it out for a couple of hours before spending the rest of the night in my vehicle. I never post bad comments without at least taking to the staff first. To be dismissed in such a fashion as I was, I could not help but to bring this to your attention via a review. IHG is much better than is being represented by this hotel!
Rooms are very comfortable and clean, breakfast is somewhat simple but good. However during our stay we had to leave early and tried to negotiate our remaining days but they were strict to their rules. I used to stay very often with them but I think Its time to look for other more flexible alternatives
Getting to the top of the mountain is hard, staying at the top is even more difficult. For year’s the Staybridge Hotel has maintained the standard of excellence providing exceptional customer service. It all starts at the top; Julio, Enrique and every other associate make sure that everything they are responsible for doing gets done. The result is an exceptional stay and overall experience every time. From the moment you drive in, the check-in process, the amenities, social hours, your room; everything is consistently excellent. Without a doubt, this property is at the top of my list.
Excellent Staybridge in a beautiful setting on a back street. No traffic noise, pretty landscaping, across street from golf course. The staff are great, helpful in every way. Julio went out of his way to make our stay the best. Loved the evening social, M-W, and morning breakfast. Rooms are up to date and very clean. We hope to come back to this location soon!
The mattress was nice and firm, pillows were okay. I like a flat pillow, so that makes it hard to find one I like. The breakfast was good, the beer was better, the coffee was GREAT! Folks at the front desk were excellent. Its a great place for the price. If youre traveling for business, this is the place to stay.
Ok access to running path. Good location for walking access to a huge shopping mall and several restaurants. Ok fitness center. Ok parking access around most of the building.Great little room with 2 burners, microwave oven, 12 cup coffee pot, decent sized refrigerator, several cooking pots/pans, dishes, and even a dishwasher.Room was great.Staff was exceptional. They were all friendly and accommodating. They were also all very helpful with answering questions about the local area.Excellent shuttle service as well. Staff members would run guests around the local area for stuff like grocery shopping and etc.I am expecting to have to return to the area in the next few months and will probably stay here again.
I stayed at this hotel for a weekend of relaxation and shopping. I loved the size of the suite, as well as the comfort and layout of it. My suite was nicely appointed to wine and dine. The bed was very comfortable and it was very easy to rest. The staff was very professional and pleasant, they are very good at what they do. I thought this weekend trip choice of hotels was right on the money for my needs. I highly recommend it.
We stayed to get away from hurricane Harvey and we had a pet with us. The hotel staff from checking in to checking out were friendly, accommodating and considerate. People were there with their pets which made the stay feel more homey. Having a kitchen in our suite was helpful and convenient. We will definitely stay here every time.
Thoroughly enjoyed my experience during this COVID-19 nonsense. Staying at the hotel for work and the staff was very accommodating to the unusual situation that our country is in. Room was great. Stayed in the one bedroom King suite and couldn’t have asked for more. Will book again.
I stay at A LOT of hotel every year for 20 years now and I would say this is one of the best. Everyone at this hotel takes their job seriously, treats you like a guest in their home, and are just great people.I only stat at this particular hotel 3-4 times a year but the manager always remembers my name as soon as I walk in the door and that is impressive. From housekeeping, breakfast and dinner staff, to management they are all great people who care about their job and the quality of your stay.Sure I have had issues when I have stayed there, but the staff has always taken care of it right away or done whatever they could.I love this hotel and it is the only place I will stay in this area. I wish I remembered specific staff members by name as they deserve the recognition!!!
Not a bad place to stay. My big complaint is the water temperature is not consistent. One night my shower was Luke warm at best the next boiling and I could not get it cool enough. The staff is very prompt and helpful. The fitness center is well done and offers many options.
Jose, Front Desk Associate, was very professional and kind. He assisted me throughout the week with a constant smile. Breakfast and evening hostesses were wonderful. They kept items restocked and fresh. Room was perfect. It was truly an awesome escape for the work week. Facility is very clean. Highly recommend.
This was a great hotel experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was large and had everything I need. They have coffee in the lobby all day long, and a good breakfast. I took advantage of their happy hour 1 of my 2 nights (the other I was gone, or I would have). It was nice, with good food and a friendly atmosphere. Id rather be at home, but if I cant this is a great place to stay.
The hotel was nice, but not special in any way. The king suite felt really small.. almost had to “scoot” around the bed. The blackout curtains didn’t cover the window 100% so you still had the light peeking in. There was a heavy feel to the room, almost as if it was dingy... or the air conditioning system needed to be cleaned out and sterilized. Overall the hotel wasn’t bad at all... and for the price I feel like I shouldn’t complain, but given that it wasn’t a cheap motel or cheaper place... I expected a little more.
I chose this hotel due to the location near the airport for my daily commute. It’s slightly worn but clean and with a staff that remembers your name from Check-in. The largest areas for improvement are the cleaning crews to replace towels and pillow cases when they take them. The coffee pot is still 12-cup style versus Keurig, and the coach is old cloth with worn arms versus the picture.
The rooms are clean and in good condition. Its in a great location. Its close to restaurants and has quick access to the airport and highway. The employees are friendly and helpful. The gym is a bit lacking but the laundry room is nice for longer stays.
Had a wonderful stay, it was very quite even though it seemed like there were plenty of guests staying there, everything from shopping to dining was very close by. Staff was extremely friendly. Loved the pool.
The staff was really nice and helpful, they helped us out with whatever we needed extra for our room and also provided local information about different stores and how to get there by printing a map. The room is really comfortable, I love they have the common area divided from the bedroom, which helps to have a little private area if someones having guests. I would suggest, to ask fot the bathtub mat because it can be slippery. In overall I think it is a great choice and I will definitely considered staying there for my next visit.
The room was sufficiently clean and homey. The happy hour and buffets were good and nice to have included in the price of the room. Only problem was a big roach I saw on the curtains of the living room. When you see one, theres usually more, and that can make it difficult to get a good sleep when one is wondering if his roach buddies will be crawling on you while you try to sleep. Other than that, it was a good hotel experience.
It is always a pleasure to stay at Staybridge Suites. The construction of the hotels are always beautiful and up to date. This one in particular is in a nice area. Felt safe and away from high traffic. Staff was nice and check in was decent. Kids love the pool and breakfast was good. The room itself was very nice, roomy and comfortable.
It is an excellent hotel that I and my family like to stay at when we visit in Texas, Houston, Dallas, San Antonio or Mcallen
The hotel is very clean and the staff were very pleasant to deal with. They even has a social time some night and provide a complimentary dinner. Washer and dryers are available for free...AWESOME while travelling.
By far, this is the best option in McAllen. Julio, Enrique and the entire team make you feel welcome. The moment you walk in, they always greet you with a smile, they remember your name and there is absolutely nothing you request that Julio and his team will try to accommodate and answer your questions. The hotel is always clean, the rooms are impecable, it’s an overall wonderful place to stay. You know when people go “above and beyond” what is required. I strongly recommend this hotel for your family and friends.
Couch and desk chair were very uncomfortable. Desk chair was also worn. Bed was very comfortable and I slept well.

This was my first family stay at this hotel and when we checked in the front desk clerk and GM were both there to meet and greet us. Stayed there for 3 nights and the staff was very attentive to our requests. Hotel was immaculately clean at all times. Our room was more than expected. Kids like the layout and that there was enough room for everything. I give big accolades to the GM Mr. Blanco for running a great staff and hotel. Im a firm believer that for a company to be successful it all starts from the leadership. Mr. Blanco, is a great example of true leadership. I have been to many other hotels in my career and non has come close to they way this hotel operates. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay at this particular one if ever come back to Mcallen TX on business.
Loved the separate bedroom for my extended stay. Hotel located close to airport and walking distance to mall and restaurants. Quiet location as well. The shuttle service to airport and eateries was a great service. Would have liked for the weekend breakfast to be served a little earlier and have an option for all TV channels to be in English. Overall, excellent stay.
Comfortable room for my family and reasonable price rate. The pool and sauna la great. The gym is excellent and business center. The room laundry service is complete and easy to use. This was my first time staying at Stay bridge. Everything was clean and neat. The staff was very nice and helpful in all of my needs. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Really liked this hotel 5/5 stars! Spent a couple nights at this hotel. When I first arrived staff was friendly and check in was easy. Checked out the room and the hallway did have a weird smell like burritos or armpits but no big deal. Room was better than expected (2 room suite with kitchen and 2 bathrooms) they do supply things like pots, pans, salt, pepper, coffee maker, toaster, ice tray, jug for water, juice, or ice. Breakfast buffet was WONDERFUL!! It had a variety of options from eggs, bacon or sausage (depends on day), toast, bagels, muffins, cereal, waffles (make your own), yogurt and more. They had a pool, 24 hr fitness, FREE laundry (do it yourself). Only thing I did not like was that the juices and sodas were very very watered down because they turn off the machines after breakfast so no guest get any during the day
I will make sure this is my choice of hotel each time I stay him this city. The hotel and staff were exceptional. I had all my needs met, the staff went out of their way to make sure I was taken care of. Great place., and quiet!
Ive been working in McAllen and have returned to this hotel twice now and I wont stay anywhere else. The staff is ALWAYS friendly and helpful.The atmosphere is great. The food is good. And most of all I love my room, its clean and spacious and feels kind of like home, and that is important to me when Im here working for two weeks at a time,Also the pool area is nice, there is a BBQ grill out back, and the fitness center accomadates my workouts very well. I take advantage of the kitchen and make soups and rice for lunch and on the weekends. There is also a DVD player so I cant rent from Redbox and have a movie night. I had abandoned Holiday Inn brand hotels due to a reservation mistake I encountered with a Florida property owner, who was a very nasty person.I chose this property because I needed a pet friendly hotel. This is a very nice location, except for some street noise. I felt very safe here and the breakfast buffet is excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful, except for the initial impression of my check-in desk clerk.Also, I needed a copy of my invoice to be emailed to me and the office staff sent it right to me.I was very happy with my stay and will book here again.
Been here before and will likely go back . Although they resolved my problems I was not pleased with the response time on the TP . Had to call 2 times to get results. This was on my August 1st stay. This stay here before was great
This was my first time staying in Staybridge and I can say that it will definitely not be my last. My room was ready quickly after my morning flight and I didnt have to wait until 3:00pm like in most hotels. The staff was really nice and accommodating to all my needs. The room was enormous with more amenities than I would ever need. Free breakfast was a nice addition to an already perfect stay.
This is a wonderful hotel. Came highly recommended by my collegues that stay there frequently. I understand why now after staying there one week. The staff is outstanding and they really make you feel at home. Happy hour makes it easy to socialize. Beds were awesome and want to take the pillows home. I recommend this place to anyone.

This hotel is very clean and it smelled so good compare to the other hotel i was staying before moving to this one. The receptionist very helpful and friendly. You go to your room and as soon as you step inside it smell clean and fresh . Rooms are very spacious. Kitchen stocked with dishes, cups , pots and pans and other utensils you might need to cook. They have complementary breakfast from 630-930. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday they serve dinner with complementary beer and wine from 5pm to 7pm. They also have a pool a bbq area. You can also was your laundry for FREE!!!
Very nice stay and quit a bit surprise with my room, Aim happy to choice this hotel, all my next stays on McAllen and another places I will choice Staybridge, I hope I receive the same experience on each one.
I had an overall good experience here but there were a couple of things that I didnt like. The bed was way to hard! The fee for having my dog with me was too high at 75.00 for a 3 night stay. I didnt have any had soap in the bathroom so I kept having to go to the dispenser in the shower to get shower gel everytime I needed to wash my hands! The shower gel was nice smelling but it was inconvenient and dripped water on the floor to have to do it this way. I had no shampoo or conditioner in my room. No shower cap either.
We decided spend some vacations and shopping days in McAllen and South Padre Island in family. The hotel meets all our expectatives and we receive all staff friendly attentions during our stay.The breakfast is complete and enough variety of options. The swimming pool was loved by my daughters and enjoyed spa with my wife,The room was very comfortable and kitchen option was great to make own récipe cuisine. The A/C working well and silence.Great staff attention. Gym room, love it for fitness.
Bed is very comfortable, food is very good and social hour is great! The staff was very willing to accommodate guests and were very responsive to requests. The hotel van was available to take me and my business partners anywhere and we had occasion to use it for dinners.
The Surge seems to be finally over and Im able to book nights at this property again! Ive been staying at this location since 2008 on business and Ive never been disappointed. Always clean, quiet, good beds, great rooms to spread out in and a nice, big lobby if I just want to hang out and get out of my room. Great staff -- Julio is the best!
The staff was really great: polite and helpful the whole time. The facilities look well maintained and the location is very convenient. Also having a hot breakfast, kitchen in every room and happy/social hour make this hotel a very comfortable offering. That being said, there are a few things that they could improve: we had a little run in with a bug in the room. It was just the one and its something that can happen to any hotel but had to notice nonetheless. Another thing that took a few notches out of a great experience, was that our fridges light was faulty. Finally we didnt get an icebox for our room. Had to use the pitcher. Those three things were the only minor problems. Hope this review hepls them improve them and we will still come back in the future.
Great place to stay for long-term business assignments. Front staff is very helpful with places to go and restaurants to eat. Breakfast is great and I encourage you to try the Texas-sized waffles. Might want to stay away from the milk at breakfast though. The milk is not fully submerged in ice for the duration of breakfast (about 3 and a half hours) and they are reused. You can easily run into a spoiled one which ruins the taste of breakfast easily (I had three in one day and gave up drinking milk from there).
We had a 2 bedroom suite, king size in one, and a queen bed in the other, 2 bathrooms, and a kitchenette. Very clean, and reasonably priced, close to the McAllen airport, and shopping for the girls. And a very fine breakfast.
I enjoy my stay every time I visit , staff is very friendly and hotel is very clean. I love breakfast and afternoon mixer. It feels very homely, and love how clean bathroom and room is at every visit. Staff is always very friendly and very helpful with any special request. I like to walk in to front desk and they always great you with a smile
My stay at this Staybridge was excellent. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly. I especially enjoyed complimentary fountain drinks in the morning and evening. The room was large and the bed was comfortable with plenty of plugs for cell phone chargers. I would recommend this hotel and stay here again if I am in the area.
If you are looking for a home away from home, I recommend the Staybridge Suites in McAllen. The front staff is friendly and very accomodating. The breakfast is fantastic and the social hour great! I fell in love with the pillows. The whole hotel is clean and cant be beat!
The hotel is very comfortable and easily located to the airport. The staff was kind and welcoming. They are doing all they can to keep the hotel clean and Covid safe.
The location of this property is excellent. Near the airport and 10th St. without all the traffic noise. Easy access to shopping, dining and highways. Clientele is primarily business travelers so weekends are usually light occupancy if you enjoy the run of the house. I have stayed at this location hundreds of times without any issues. In fact its my favorite Staybridge in the IHG family. This staff will do anything to make sure your day is going right and so many times without even asking. Sometimes its just the small things like offering you a bottle of water after coming in from a hot RGV day. Its nice here, I feel like part of the family and I feel appreciated for staying there. If you travel frequently you understand that last statement.Dont forget to look for the Parrots of McAllen they hang out on the west side palms!!
The room could have used a little paint in the bathroom, but other than that the room was very clean. The bed was really comfortable. Occasionally, the air conditioner would kick in and wake me up, but I am a really lite sleeper! The breakfast was similar to many hotels with breakfast included with a highlight of a soda fountain! It was really nice to be able to get my morning Diet Coke included since most only serve coffee and juices! We paid a little more to stay here hoping for a clean and comfortable room. We got just that!
Great place to stay in McAllen! Stayed for business but was treated like family. Hotel is clean, comfortable, and comes with lots of extras. There is breakfast every morning, a social/happy hour event during certain week nights, and a free shuttle to get around town. It would be hard to find a better value for all that comes with a room.
We first arrived to the hotel and it was very easy to begin our check-in process. The hotel staff was ver attentive and made sure to satisfy all of our needs. The hotel buffet was very delicious and the food had a great visual presentation. I enjoyed my stay completely and look forward to staying again at this hotel.
I was in town for a business event and was very very pleased with my first stay at a staybridge. The staff was incr double, friendly, helpful, and respectful to me. The facility was immaculate. The rooms were spacious and clean. Ive been an IHG member for awhile now and traveled to many of their affiliate hotels, but this ranks close to the top
What a great staff and property! I was pleasantly surprised with the quality if the room, but was even more pleased by the staff. The front desk people went out of their way to make sure I was pleased. All of the other guests looked like they were having a great time. It was a welcome departure from a long day on the road!
We stayed four nights. We were not in our room from 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. so I can not comment on hotel conditions during the day. Our first night we were on the third floor and could hear the person above us walking - very loud. My husband and son were able to fall asleep with the noise, but I am a light sleeper and had to wait until the person in the room above went to sleep. The next day we asked for a room on the fourth (highest) floor. We were able to transfer rooms later in the day once one became available. The floors on the fourth floor seemed hollow; when my son or my husband walked, I could hear their footsteps echo. I felt sorry for the people below us. I am curious if people on the first and second floors could hear walking. The second night I could hear the little boy below us crying and the father telling him to close the door. They went to bed at midnight. I could not hear noise from the rooms next to me, so the sound seems to travel through the floor. The next two nights were quiet. The pillows in the first room were too fluffy and neither my husband or I were able to sleep well. When we were switched to the fourth floor room, some of the pillows were flatter and we slept well after that. The rooms were clean, but the sofas in the rooms are stained and sag when you sit down. I had to put a cover over the sofa before I would sit on it. The room on the fourth floor also had a urine stain on the carpet (they allow animals in the rooms). The room did smell funky when we were transferred so I had to Febreeze the room. Hot water never ran out. Breakfast consisted of coffee, juice, scrambled eggs, bacon on one day, sausage on the next, various cereals, oranges, bananas, pastries, sandwiches, oatmeal, boiled eggs, cottage cheese, peaches, pineapple and you could make your own waffle. We never made it to happy hour so I cant comment on the food and drink offered. If you do not stay more than 7 days, the cleaning service is limited; the bed is made, garbage emptied and towels exchanged. If you want more service, you need to make arrangements with the front desk. My husband liked the fitness room and used it every day. He said they had good equipment and he was the only one in there so he got to watch what he wanted on the TV. My son brought his computer and had no problems hooking up to the internet. Too cold to use the outdoor pool. Would I stay there again? If I could get a fourth floor room, take an extra cover for the sofa, a can of Febreeze and a box fan to drown out noise, yes.
I stayed at this hotel from 02/25/2018 - 02/26/2018, the second day at the hotel before I left I told front desk at 11 am that we were going to be out all day and to please clean up the room. When we got there late at night, the room was not cleaned, the key didnt work even though it was an easy check out check in prepaid. To apologize for that inconvenience the guy at the desk that last night said they were going to award me 5,000 pts. or so and it has been a month and I dont have them on my account. I liked the property a lot, however I dont know if i would return.
Stayed at the Staybridge Suites in McAllen, Texas. Friendly front desk staff, house-keeping staff responsive to needs, free shuttle to areas within a 5-mile radius, perfect location to reach local food and shopping, very clean, comfortable beds, acceptable amenities to include fitness area, business center, pool and on-site laundry facilities. I stayed here for a business trip. The first night was sponsored by the business partner and I had originally planned to find another hotel, but the quality of this hotel was so outstanding that I decided to stay for the two additional days that I would be in town before my flight returned to Florida. I have no complaints and would definitely stay here again.
Everything was perfect at this hotel! I always stay here when I travel to McAllen. Its a half-mile, one right turn, and one stoplight away from the airport. I am always treated well by the excellent staff. I had to wait around in the lobby area for my flight after checkout so the manager offered me a fee drink and a free snack!Best place to stay in McAllen for my money!
1st room I was in was really hot and the AC did not go under 74 and the room felt hotter than that. Second room ( Rm Number 400) needs a new bathtub. There were brown stains all over it that looked like they were there to stay. Also you could see the stains where the toilet drained. Staybridge is supposed to rank among the top of the IHG this one kinda failed to do so.
Our stay was amazing from the staff to the amazing beds and atmosphere. Excellent 5 Star hotel!

Believe it or not, i had the best experience ever in this hotel, cleanliness, safety measures were always implied, very cheap for the price, free breakfast, free washers and dryers, staff is amazing, helpful at all times, rooms are being cleaned daily, in this hotel i did not have to worry about my stay at all, i felt home, i felt safe and everybody is friendly and great here.
I stay at this hotel frequently for business and this property offers everything I need. The entire staff is friendly and professional. They always greet me by name on each visit. As often as I travel it’s nice to stay somewhere that feels like home. I highly recommend this hotel!!
I like staying there. Staff is kind and attentive. Each week I stay and check in, sometimes I’m a gold member sometimes I’m just a check in . I was supposed to get 2000 points for a stay that the room, specifically the bathroom was not cleaned well and all of the bath amenities were empty or not replenished. Still haven’t received the points.
I have stayed at this hotel before with no issues, however we found dirty bathroom towels in our room, maybe the cleaning crew just forgot to clean up the room
I stayed for 3 months and I have nothing bad to say. The staff was friendly and treated me like they were happy to have me. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Carlos, Julio, Jaun, Enrique and Perla were all amazing. I really appreciated the hospitality and I would absolutely stay with them again.

I always enjoy staying at this hotel when I come to McAllen on business. The rooms are spacious and the staff are genuinely concerned with the well-being of its guests. Since Ive only come here on business, Ive never had the need to use the kitchenette. I do not do much personal travelling. But if I did, I would look for a Staybridge Suites to take advantage of the kitchenette, especially on a longer stay.
I cant say enough good things about this property. Other staybridge hotels where I have stayed do not even come close to the quality and friendliness of this hotel. There were a few hiccups along the way during the two months, but after they were worked out by an attentive staff it made for a good experience. This is a way to thank the staff, custodians, and kitchen staff on their going above and beyond their job description!
I was recently an overnight guest at the Staybridge Suites in McAllen, TX. I was very pleasantly surprised at how great everything went. I travel quite a bit and I was impressed at the service of the staff, cleanliness and comfort of the suite, and the quality of the free breakfast. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to McAllen.

Quality property with well guided staff. Definitely a business traveler hotel that insulates you from an over abundance of family travelers. I have never known the staff to refuse any reasonable request and their is genuine hospitality given to guest. They want you to return on your next trip.
Overall quality that you can expect from staybridge. The happy hour is nice. Location is close to shopping and the airport. Only nit to pick if any at all is that cleaner they use had a very strong smell. Not good or bad just strong.
The picture below is of the first room I was assigned. Next, I was given a room which upon opening, found that one was occupied. The first one I thought was an error and something internal, the second I thought these people need to fix some issues with tracking room, guests, etc. After returning to the lobby after the 1st and 2nd rooms the girl at the front desk (Dymond) said she found me a room and that it would be an upgrade for me for no charge. Skeptical of course I told her Ill see you in a few.Upon arriving to the new upgraded room, I found that it was quiet and quite large so I settled in (finally as I have been onsite at the hotel for about 45 mins). Had just enough time to video chat with my 15 months old and my wife when the phone rings and the front desk calling (Dymond) saying that I have to pay $30 extra if I want to stay in this room. I told her i didnt care and was tired of moving as this was my 3rd room and Im on a corporate account. She stated that was fine and just come down in the a.m...About 20 mins go by and another call from the front desk a man this time, doesnt state his name, position, or any affiliation with or to do with anything stating I need to pay for the room now or move. Obviously I. Am. LIVID at this point. Why offer me an upgrade at no charge for my inconvenience and the try to charge me $30 for the room 20 min later?!Enrique (front desk mgr) I later found out is who i was talking to. Stated I could not stay in this room (on the phone, at reception, in the hotel lobby and phone handed to me AROUND THE PLEXIGLASS FOR COVID) to which I asked to stay in that room for inconvenience of having moved THREE times already and I will never come back or use Staybridge Suites again to which he replied Ok thats fine, but I still need to charge you $30Paid for a king room, ended up in a queen, 4 rooms later. How do you do this to an employee of a $65Mcompany, who uses Staybridge Suites all over the country as well as our other employees? Our company will probably never use Staybridge due to this incident.A $65 million company lost of a $30 mistake. Great job IHG....
Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. All of my needs were met. The Social was a neat aspect as well. Dining areas were kept clean and stocked.My suite was fresh and clean; all that you can ask for while away from home!
Very nice staff. I think you will enjoy your stay. The food was good and I enjoyed the social time. Very comfortable large rooms. The only complaint was that one of the elevators was not working so I had to use the stairs. Good excuse to have a little exercise.
Wonderful stay at the Staybridge Suites and I will stay there again if I find myself in McAllen, TX. Very nice rooms, pleasant staff that went above and beyond to help make sure my stay was nice. Nice pool and hot tub, comfy beds, nice showers, and probably the best free breakfast Ive ever had at a hotel. I highly recommend!
Good stay. Check in was easy. Rooms were clean. Hot breakfast could use diversity. Not as great as other hot breakfasts. Noise level low. Room did smell of smoke but not sure if room was cleaned properly before checking in. Free Wi-Fi a plus. Not OK about pets staying too. Service animals are fine but general household pets shouldnt be allowed in my opinion.

I had never stayed at a Staybridge Suites before, and the hotel far exceeded my expectations. The social was a very nice feature and the room was very comfortable indeed. I left early so did not get the chance to enjoy a leisurely breakfast.
I travel all over the country and stay in a variety of hotels. Staybridge Suites in McAllen is by far the BEST on all measures. The staff are professional and caring. The rooms are exceptionally clean with comfortable beds and a nice set up for long stays (e.g., good size refrigerator, nice size microwave, good stove top). They even provide some recipes for cooking at home. The morning breakfast always has fresh fruit, lots of pastries, waffles (in the shape of Texas), eggs, bacon or sausage, and sometimes a yummy egg, cheese, and tomato tort. In the evening, there is a wonderful gathering in the large living and dining area with free wine, beer, soft drinks, and usually some sort of snack--which is usually a full meal for me. Hamburgers, hot dogs, chefs salad, taco bar, etc. You feel as if you are at a well catered party. When you are on the road, it can get old pretty fast. However, I always look forward to going back to Staybridge McAllen. Youll find it is a wonderful home away from home--but with no housework!
Been staying in hotels for over 20 years. This one made me feel like home. Room was very nice and comfortable, staff was very friendly and attentive. Social hour and breakfast was awesome and had much variety.
Stayed at this property in Staybridge Suites Mcallen, trying to get away from hurricane Harvey. Considering the situation, it was a smooth checkin, a little wait, but there was way too many people and pets. Even though there were too many pets, it didnt seem like it. Very comfortable, rooms are roomy, Staff is very attentive.
I have stayed at this hotel at least 20 times in the last 3 years. I have always liked the friendly staff and in general, the value for the money is OK. However i nthe last year I have clearly stated to them that they should start renovating or at least replacing the worn furniture. The sofa beds are horrible, we stopped using them about a year ago and instead place the mattress in the floor. This time I found carpet coming off the floor, loose pieces of furniture in the kitchen. The TVS are a big problem also, they have DVD with composite outputs that every time I get into the room I have to rewire my self as they are always misplaced, I know some guests take cables away but this is a problem that has lasted too long by now. I personally find also a probelm that they dont do a full cleaning service on the weekends (when I normally stay), sorry to say but there are newer hotels with lower prices, the value of this hotel is going down fast. I hope they start solving it soon as I really like to stay with them.
Spacious suite very nice and clean beds are more than excellent to sleep. 100% cleanliness will recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a hotel to stay.
I checked in on Monday Jan 8. At some point while in the room the ac/heating unit quit operating. I didnt think too much about it at first but as the afternoon moved into evening, I thought I might need either ac or heat. I called the front desk at 7pm and explained that the unit was not running. The desk clerk said that she would send a maintenance tech up shortly. About 8:05 pm I called again to see how much longer. Id been up since 3am and wanted to go to bed. She said 10 minutes. Okay, so I would wait. At 9:15 I called and told her to cancel and forget it! I was tired of waiting and just plain tired.At 9:20 the tech knocked on my door. It was a simple fix, somehow the unit had been unplugged. The point was that a few minutes turned into over 2 hours.Then as the week went on, the unit started getting louder and louder. By Wednesday night, I had to shut it off because it was so loud, earplugs wouldnt keep out the sound. At 3:00 am Thursday morning an alarm in the hall went off and rang for 30 minutes or more. That took care of my sleep for the rest of the night. Thursday morning as I was leaving for work at 7:00 am, I asked the desk clerk to send someone to check out the unit as it was making so much noise. She noted the request and said she would take care of it. I arrived back at 6:00 pm only to find that no-one had been to the room all day to check it. It seems that only when the guest gets angry do they actually try to fix an issue. I will stay one more time and give them a 2nd chance. If I experience any more issues this next time, I can guarantee I will never stay again.

While we ended up at this hotel by mistake, thinking it was located in another place, I had stayed at this chain previously and overall is good. We had the 2 bedroom suite, which had some issues, but since we were only staying one night, we decided to let it go and not report it. The best breakfast variety and quality I have had in this type of hotel. Unbeatable location if you are there for leisure.
Located in a quiet and convenient area, the hotel meant all of my rather high expectations as a first time visitor to the McAllen area. It was clean, quiet and the staff were very nice. We will return!
I stayed in this hotel for 30 days, and I had garbage piled up in my Hallway daily . It smelled horrible. There is no cleaning staff on site after 5pm.
My stay was very nice. Hot breakfast every morning and social time 3 nights a week with great food. The room was nice and laundry service came in handy during my stay.
Great tucked away location the is convenient spot for Airport, Pharr, Edinburg, Reynosa and McAllen that caters to the business traveler. The property managers have placed a lot of effort on getting it right and if you have stayed at other Staybridges you can see they stand out strong. This type of professional service doesnt come by accident it built into the foundation of the property employees. This has been my go to location for many years in McAllen unless they are booked up (which happens - its popular).
Normally I give staybridge 5 star with great review but this one. This was not a good stay, I stayed there for 5 nights bad room service and got tiered of listening to fox news in the AM at breakfast and PM for there little get together in the evening. I had to right a note for them to leave shampoo and make the bed it felt like I was in a 2 star hotel and for the money I paid.. 👎👎

Rooms were spacious and very nice. Staff was helpful and super friendly. Shuttle will take you anywhere within a five mile radius and staff responds promptly. Free breakfast in the lobby was good.
The Staybridge Suites in McAllen is an excellent hotel. It offers good value for the money. It has a great free buffet breakfast. The social event offered good food too. The only problem is that it is only offered on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. They should offer the social event every night.
Everything was excellent with this property other than the housekeeping. They just could never get it right in one cleaning. Once the new sheets were left and not put on. Another time they cleaned half the bathroom and did not leave any towels. The next time they never swept any room. After the first few times of not getting it right it was a wait and see what they wont do next sense of anticipation that became a running joke with my coworkers. But besides the cleaning issues it was a great stay and I will say that they always corrected any issues they missed.
The room was quite and peaceful and also clean. I enjoy the the kinds of the personal people that always greet me ever time I go in and out of hotel.
Had an excellent stay, nice and close to the airport and restaurants.Only small gripe is I think the previous room tenants had BBQ and I could still smell it a bit... not really a complaint cause BBQ is awesome.
Overall, a nice place to stay with a good staff. The hotle was clean and the brekfast was good. The social hour was a plus. An issue with the internet connection while I was there that did not get resolved right away. Very clean place with a friendly hotel staff.
This hotel is amazing. It has everything you would need and mkre. The kitchen in the room is perfect for staying a while. The closet is very convenient and even comes with a laundry basket. There is nothing I didnt like about this hotel.
The staff here is very kind and attentive and the rooms are clean and comfortable. I especially enjoy the comforting atmosphere in the lobby and the nightly socials when they provide food and drinks and the opportunity to get to know others staying there.
Staybridge Suites Mcallen, TX is run by a top notch staff whome are extremely courtious and caring. I have never been to a hotel where I felt like I was coming home each night. I have probably stayed over 100 nights at this property and it ranks extremely high on my list of business hotels. Staybridge McAllen staff all deserve Gold Stars for their attention to detail. I cant imagine someone being disappointed with their stay here.
The pool and jacuzzi were excellent. The Rooms were nice and the beds comfortable! We had an issue with the wrong tv remote but it was fixed very quickly! Great location!

Very nice employees and god atmosphere. Good cost value ratio. You can enjoy variety of meals and enjoy the drinks and food at evenings from Monday to Wednesday. The fitness room is fair.
I stayed at the Stay bridge for work. The staff is accommodating and the room was very clean. Probably the best part is the hotel has happy hour from 5:30 to 7:30 every Monday through Wednesday. If you can manage, try this hotel out.
We were in town for a family reunion and we were the only ones to stay at Staybridge. After a day of being with a loud, boisterous family, our room at Staybridge was like coming home to a quiet, relaxing atmosphere. Thats what I love about this chain - no matter where I go, it feels like home.
I stayed at this hotel for business purposes. The staff is very professional, courteous, and helpful. My room was very clean, as well as the bathroom. The breakfast is above par with other hotel chains. The social in the evenings was a treat. I recommend this hotel for anyone who is traveling to or through McAllen.
The staff that I had experience with had no time for the concern of me accessing the building next to my room. I was told very rudely to just not to put my card in the door so fast when my card would not open the door so I always had to use the front entrance. There is a big difference between paying a convince fee for food and drinks then paying almost double of the cost.
It was really comfortable and homey. Overall everything was excellent the amenities even though we didn’t get to use them. Would’ve stayed longer if it weren’t for my job. Breakfast was delicious.
The McAllen Staybridge Suites is my preferred choice whenever I am in the RGV for business, mostly because of how super-friendly and attentive the staff are to your needs. Every staff person I have encountered here has always been pleasant and friendly, and have always made sure that I had whatever I needed to make my stay as comfortable as possible. The level of customer service here is so high, that I am always disappointed when I go to other Staybridge Suites, and I dont get the same level of service. The McAllen staff really have set the bar high.
Clean room. Lobby is nice. Pool and whirlpool amenities were clean. Complementary social hour includes evening snacks. Very accommodating and pleasant stay.
I had to book this hotel last minute for an unexpected trip I needed to take to McAllen. I had never been to McAllen before so wasnt sure what was available. I booked this hotel after reading the reviews and I was not disappointed at all. The room was really beautiful and the bed was super comfortable. I only stayed one night and wish I needed to stay longer because the room was so nice!
Although I have stayed in McAllen numerous times , this was my first stay at Staybridge. I will make it my new default place to stay. Very convenient location , a very comfortable room, friendly staff and a great breakfast bar- it really was a good choice. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in McAllen
Amazing rooms, Im in a mini apartment basically! Good internet, actually steady. Great amenities, did i say mini apartment i mean they give you silverware, plates, microwave dishes and a dishwasher to keep up with yourself!
I’m a Platinum Elite rewards member and I love IHG. This property has horrible service. The internet doesn’t work. The dryers don’t work. The front desk staff was uncooperative. At check-in they had given our room to someone else. I emailed the GM with concerns and never heard back. On several different days I asked to speak to the GM and he was never there and never attempted to get in touch with me. I asked several times about my points and was told on several occasions I would get 5 points for every dollar spent. Then on checkout I was told I would not be getting any points. I asked again to speak to the GM. I was again told he wasn’t there but would call me. Again, never heard from the GM. Do not stay at this property.
This property is nicely located if youre spending time in the Lower Rio Grande Valley. The rooms are clean and well furnished. I found the staff to be truly concerned about my comfort and fully enjoyed my stay here.
This was a great find whether you stay one night or one month. The hotel is well located, safe, clean, and the bed wins the prize. I visited McAllen with my ten yr old son and felt safe and welcome. We will stay here again and again.
My wife and I previously stayed in this hotel when our son was in the hospital so that we could be close to him and we never experienced any problems. We chose Staybridge because we enjoyed our stay during a very difficult time, but the second time around was not as pleasant. Room was clean and bed was nice, but a major red flag is when we woke ip the next morning and found two cockroaches in the room where our infant son was sleeping. I don’t mean to nitpick but the thought of cockroaches possibly crawling on our 1 year old son was pretty upsetting. I could understand one but two just seemed excessive. Besides the roach problem
I really like these hotels with Pantry, laundry machines and evening social snack hour.My only complaint is the room needs an interior decorator.The furniture was nice, but it has a cluttered inside appearance. It was like someone bought furniture for rooms and then crammed it all into room regardless of the size of the room.Some of the furniture was too big for the room size.This is very similar to the Candlewood Suites, but I prefer Candlewood.
Worst experience ever, my advice for any government personnel or anybody coming to work in the Valley to stay away from this hotel, services are very poor, staff will go through your stuff, very unprofessional staff and management.

2021-11-22The hotel has a convenient location. My first floor room had VERY loud plumbing noise in the wall beside the bed all night long! No one was at the front desk for 20 minutes at 3am to help me and the building felt very insecure. I needed assistance at the breakfast buffet, but could not find anyone to help. Perhaps the staffing problems are due to Covid, but I paid for better service, security, and quality than I got.

Its very upsetting that management has the time to respond to these review comments, but not the time to actually do what they said they were going to do. They act like they are so concerned when in reality they just put aside our concerns when we were staying at the hotel. Enrique agreed to email me my receipts from my stay, twice. Yet i never received them. I had called 3 times about it. But i guess since we are not there anymore, not his problem right? Very unprofessional. When some of us had called corporate they were giving us our points that we rightfully have earned because we were paying full price, yet some of us weren’t so lucky because Enrique had told them not to give us our points. Its a shame, he would go to such measures to refuse government agencies their points. During the beginning of the stay it was fine. Until the last couple months. After staying there for a full year, there were 2 cleaning staff that would not do their job correctly, they would go through your belongings, hotel would over charge some people and there is a roach issue. And yes, we had told management about these things. Hotel is outdated.

2021-03-31The staff are great, kind and professional. During the power outage the management work hard to find us accommodating lodging even at other hotel chains. Everyone is great to work with from the desk to the maintenance workers. This is a great place to stay. I have had to move around the area and go to other towns at a moment’s notice the staff was always ready to help they even offers to put my things in storage until I returned.

2021-10-31The rooms were comfortable and roomy, and quiet. The evening social was lacking. The food options for 3 nights in a row included pretzels, popcorn, and peanuts. Also guests were only allowed 3 small drinks. Almost no one was there for that.
