Wow this place was amazing. Service was great. You order at the cashier then pick your seat. Food came out fresh and the tortilla were hand made. Truly authentic tacos. Definitely will come back to this place if I come back to el paso. Great job guys. My tummy is happy.
Tacos Don Cuco is my favorite taco place in El Paso. I recommend the tripas and the tacos Al pastor con piña. When my friends come in from Las Cruces, this is always the taco place we go to. I love that they have the Mexican soda, too. It definitely helps if you can order in Spanish or have someone help you, but honestly that’s how you know a place is legit.
11/1/2018: Make sure you check your order before you leave. We ordered some (soft cooked) tripitas. When we got home and opened them they were over cooked and crunchy(see attached picture), we couldnt enjoy them..so wasted almost 20 dollars. We live a good distance so we called to complain and the phone just ran and ran.
Tacos Don Cuco on Mesa is DELICIOUS!!!! My family loved the tacos we ordered. We ordered about five different kinds of street tacos and all of them were good. The ONLY reason I only gave it 4 stars was for cleanliness. The floors were very sticky. My shoes made a sticking sound when I walked around the dining room and their beverage tanks looked like they needed a good scrubbing. All that being said the food was A+.
This is a good place to grab a quick bite of Mexican food. Carnitas? No? How about in the mood for mouth watering barbacoa or greasy delicious tripitas? Yummy! 😋Unlike the other Tacos Don Cucos where the service is always lacking, here it is fast and reliable. If it isnt fast, then it is because they are taking even greater care with your food.It is the fast food dining experience that doesnt taste cheap and is worthy of the moniker finger licking good.
West side location is not so good. Loved eating at the location on the east side but please avoid the west side one. Go somewhere else. Taco meat they are extremely stingy. Tried getting the menudo family pack and it tasted like water. Plus we only got three small bowls out of it.
Tacos were great, michiladas were probably the tastiest Ive ever had here in EP, and the service good. They were VERY busy (Saturday night), but they handled it well. Not very many people in the dining room, but lots of cars waiting for curb side, and several waiting for take out. Im was pleased overall.
This is the way Tacos should be served! The service is great! The place is clean, not to mention the great salsas bar, always full and fresh! You can enjoy them with a cold Mexican beer, I personally prefer the glass bottle Coca-Cola, just like in Mexico! The Staff is very attentive to include the manager Alejandra. I eat here at least three times a week!
I used to love coming here. The past two times they ripped us off on our taco orders, barely putting any meat in. This last time we showed the staff. To their credit, they fixed it. The food and service are usually good. We wont be back though. Ser codo con un taco es una ofensa internacional.
I want to congratulate this place for its management. I had the opportunity to interact with the prime shift manager and she’s great. She’s alway on top of everything. She would help cashiers and also help the kitchen with orders. Sometimes employees get confused and slow, and she keeps the machine running. Thank you..
Im a fan of the Cuco. Some tacos are definitely better than others. For me, the carnitas are where its at. The plate below is after we got them home. The service is excellent. You call down, you place your order, you pull into to a slot, and they bring it out to your car. Super easy.
New restaurant with ample seating, including a covered outdoor patio for larger groups. The menu is a bit sparse and ordering proved difficult due to the cashiers inability to clarify the difference between two tacos and an order of tacos. Nonetheless, the food was tasty, fresh, and the salsa bar was filled with taco toppings and a variety of salsas ranging from hot to mild. Clean atmosphere, relaxed environment, delicious food were the highlights of my visit.
The food is excellent and I go all the time but what has gotten really annoying, is the really rude and up tight cashiers. Ive made items missing from my order and when I call they answer with an attitude and want to blame it on the customer. Its your restaurant maybe check the orders you get. I have been charged multiple times for items and havent received refunds and when we ask they say they cant. So you can charge me two items and only give me and when i ask for a refund, you cant. After the most recent time, I will not be returning.
This place is good. But I wished it would of came with beans and rice for the price I paid for 4 small tacos. My son and husband loved the the Cuco hamburger special. I think thats what the name of it was. They did have friendly workers there. Nice clean place to eat too.
I love this place. I’ve tried almost everything on the menu and I haven’t tried anything I don’t like. They make sure every plate that comes out their kitchen is tastefully cooked and properly made. Aside from their tacos being great, they also make one heck of a shrimp cocktail. You must try it if you haven’t already
Absolutely garage customer service. Wasted my entire lunch break sitting in my car watching every single other car get taken care of instead of me. I called my order ahead of time and was told it would be ready in 10minutes. The food is fantastic but their takeout service is trash.
This place is legitimately amazing. If youre into the taco tote vibe, youve got to try this place, its much better. Everything is fresh, their homemade salsas are delicious, and all their sides are great. Try their pastor tacos, and definitely their papa Don cuco , you wont regret it.
Friends from the east side of town have been raving for some time now about this place on the East side. This is the first location on west side. I have to admit these are some good tacos! The meat was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The down side is that for the price for a order of 4 tacos is small ($5.00-$5.99). The order does not come with a side. In my case they lacked in size too. But in general it is a bit cheaper and just as flavorful as eating the other chain restaurant serving Real Mexican Tacos in town.
The staff was very courteous and answered any questions about the food. Food was delivered hot and within 10 minutes of ordering. Giving me enough time to go to the salad bar and get everything extra I needed for my menudo and tacos. The food looks and tastes authentic. The menudo was delicious!!! Tasted like my mom’s lol. Definitely will be coming back. This was my first time there.
The place is dirty, the food is not bad nor good. I could cook better than that, but for the prices there hig.$4.59 - $5.59 for 5 for extra small tacos, were I I can just buy a burrito that has the same amount of meat but no beans, no rice, no cheese for $2.59.I dont think is worth eating here, I prefer cooking at my house than going to this place to eat.
Not clean, incomplete order, over 20 mins wait time for orders to arrive when there were no more than 20 costumers and at least 8 employees, each taco is literally one bite worth of meat. As a Mexican, this is the worst taco restaurant I can recall ever visiting in my life.
I had a menudo and a torta (alambre)... wow! The flavor of the menudo was great, not to mention their amazing salsas that intensified my taste buds! The torta was delicious as well, it had the right amount of ingredients and the meat was spiced just right. The staff was very friendly and the bathrooms were clean. Overall a great experience!
They took such care in preparing food without any dairy for me - down to griddle cooking the tortillas without the pat of butter on the grill. I chose this place because I hoped that the tacos - which are served just tortilla and meat - would be easy enough for me to top with safe options from the salsa bar. They really were helpful in providing several other menu options made without dairy. Best frijoles de la olla in the area! Also tried the papas which tasted very fresh, not like those stale ones sitting in a warmer all day.
Had barbacoa tacos corn tortilla was super little and it came with one per taco very disappointed considering it came with a goof amount of meat could have easily made two out of one but I had to eat the taco in 2 bites. Horchata had a good flavor but you could taste the gritty rice inside your mouth, probably the first time ever in my life that Ive felt rice in my mouth from an horchata. Cashier was nice good flavor but definitely ripped off.
Awesome tacos! The only downside to this place is how slow the order taking process is. The waiting in line while they figure out how to use the register just made the tacos taste even better when they arrived. Also, no descriptions of items on the menu, like what does “don cuco” mean? Burger don cuco, could be anything on it. We did order the papa don cuco, and it was a baked potato smothered in queso and carne asada! Oh daaaamn! It was great! So what does the Burger don cuco have? Next time I just might have to order one to find out.
Tacos Don Cucos will have you saying Ayyyeee Chihuahua as you wipe the delicious salsa off your mouth! The food is made fresh to order and arrives at your table hot and quick. They have a great salsa bar with different salsas, guacamole, lime, onions, and cilantro to help you perfect your tacos, just how you like them. I had Asada and Al pastor tacos with a Ceviche bowl. The horchata is fresh and taste great also! Definitely recommend Don Cucos! if you’re questioning it DONT, get in there and live your best Cuco Life!
You get MINI tacos for 14 bucks!!! And they are dry as hell! My kids quesadillas were wayyy better than my tacos. Oh and when you order in English, you get a side of sass! Make sure your fluent on your Spanish because they wont speak English to use, no matter how hard you struggle to understand. They should have a sign on the door that says espanol only
To start they have the best salsa bar in town the avocado is the best in town not super spicy like everybody elses. They even have a tomato Salas that I suggested and they have added to many of thier restaurants Salsa Bar, I like they always have freshly cut limes not like other restaurants that they acut days in advance, and everything very fresh. The Don Cuco Burger with real Steak meat and regular hamburger patty is the best burger in town. I enjoy there Don Cuco potato bar, a side order of frijoles code la olla with the best assortments of Different 🌮 Tacos available I like the Alambre tacos with white cheese
First off, I have an inate resentment for businesses that come here and employees no habla ingles. Now to food review. I could see before my molars could grind the bovine protein that the rancher that raised this sacrifice was related to Charles Goodyear, as in rubbery. Not as bad as I feared, but there were some dissappointing chunks. The beverages were in a windowed cooler, just slightly cooler than room temperature. I prefer fountain drinks, which I realize requires more maintenance and attention, but this is my preference. This place is more of a brick and morter taco truck than a restaurant. It is bare bones, paper plates, no frills, but at least they have napkin holders at the table. I should have gone to TACO TOTE even though it would have been a few $$ more and their beans are Bushs beans and not home made. Would I go back???????, ah that would be a no.
Couldnt give me a breakfast skillet 6 minutes after 12pm (their breakfast ending hour)Really good foodBut this TDC is the ONLY one I always have this situation withBeen with them since the TDC on Alameda and the skillet to me personally is their signatureHad to take my business somewhere else
Good food but small tacos not worth the price, And super rude waitresses I’ve tried to eat their for second time but the still have the same waitresses that I had in the first place but in the kitchen definitely left the place and wasn’t gonna risk my food being poisoned or spit on

2022-07-06Had a shrimp cocktail, a bottle of beer, tried the menudo. The Estrella Jalisco was the only thing with real flavor. The place looked unkempt and most of the tables of the outdoor patio- style furniture still had crumbs, trash and dirty dishes on them.

2018-12-16Corner spot that offers great Mexican food. Family place for sure, but they offer beer and Cheladas too. Their menudo is good for the soul after a long night of drinking, but the food is not limited to hangover cures. The have a salsa bar and the staff is very kind. They speak English and Spanish. Tacos are simple and packed with flavor. The dining area is very clean and the wait times are are short! Definitely visit if you can!
